2.5 stars rounded up. I loved the short story at the beginning that introduced the characters and the art was gorgeous; I'm definitely a sucker for manga guys with long hair, so shallow as it may be, that bumped my rating up. There were, however, a couple of things that hindered my enjoyment, namely the dismissive handling of sexual assault by the jealous rival, and the ambiguity of whether Sei was cheating on the prince at the end? Based on what is shown on page, I'd say no, that he simply has lingering feelings and indulges his former lover's flirtations out of a combination of that and guilt, but it's still hard to say, and made me uncomfortable, despite Sei's obvious love and devotion to Linth.

I liked the artwork pretty well in this one but i'm not a big fan of this author, their stories tend to be 'ok'. I have the paperback copy from DramaQueen. Another publisher that I wished I owned more of their books!

I really prefer hard yaoi, and this title holds nothing back in that regard. There's explicit sex, with nudity. I also appreciated the historical fantasy setting - a Prince looking for a mentor to help rule his kingdom. General Sai is flawed and cynical, but can't help but be moved by the Prince's noble yet naive ambitions. Readers should be warned there is non-consensual sex in the story, but also a convoluted plot that will surely expand over another volume or two. The artistry is excellent. Though the Prince is a little epheminate, he's still male. The proprtions are good, and the shading and backgrounds detailed enough to have depth while remaining clear. Highly recommended.

This is a well drawn manga with a very atypical lovers. Prince Linth is your usual uke but Sei, who is seme to Linth, is behaving in a really uke-ish way towards Touri. It's not a threesome manga but these characters would make a really nice sandwich :D

From what I've heard, fans had some problems with the non-con part of the book. Linth was first raped by Sei, then by Touri and he forgave both and even stayed lovers with Sei. It does sound nonsensical but on the other hand, it's a manga and a fantasy manga to that.

Really entertaining and I will definitely buy the prequel.
