Wile E. Coyote wants nothing more than to get hold of Road Runner. Watch as he uses liquids, solids, and gases in clever ways to catch that bird. Will the states of matter help him succeed? Or will his schemes dry up in the hot desert sun? Look inside to find out!
It isn't surprising that Wile E. Coyote has his mind set on capturing Road Runner. But as every cartoon fan knows, the wily bird seems to always outwit him. This graphic novel, though, blames the coyote's failures on not thoroughly understanding the states of matter. Many of his plots involve using something in a solid, liquid or gas form, but he often miscalculates. If he understood these states of matter better, he just might capture that bird. The book will make readers smile while also providing good, basic science information. Beep! Beep!
Are schools now teaching the four states of matter - gas, solid, liquid and plasma? I think kids will love using this cartoon character to learn science. I like the humorous way this is written and that might make it a fun way to use a read aloud. Glad to notice that this is part of a capstone series.
