When coed Ally Monroe literally falls into the arms of a tattooed bad-boy one summer night, she can’t seem to let go. Morgan Jordan is everything Ally doesn’t want—he’s a playboy from a blue-collar background, and Ally’s looking for upper-class stability. Though their relationship starts off as a one-night stand, once Ally learns Morgan is her best friend’s brother, there’s no escaping him…or the growing fire between them.

As Ally and Morgan become closer, they confront bitter enemies, his sister’s disapproval, and paths taking them in different directions at summer’s end. When their greatest test arises, it’s one that threatens to destroy them both.

This second audiobook in the bestselling Someone to Love series proves that in love and passion, sometimes two wrongs do make a right.

Not my usual cup of tea, but it was an "okay" story to listen to on my commute. The characters were fine, but I didn't fall head over heels for this book. It was a sweet and funny college-aged romance. It was predictable, but I wasn't expecting mystery or suspense, so no surprise there. In one word, I'd describe it as "cute". Not one that made much of an impression one way or the other for me.

description

Excited about this book! Loved the first one so much and hoping we get more of Cruise and Kendall!

I have read all of Moore's books and this was the first one that really disappointed me. I loved 'Someone to Love' and was looking forward to this book. Here goes with the bad: I hated the characters. Morgan was a sleazy guy with really no redeeming qualities (except that he's apparently 'hot'). He claims to be "pre-law" but his internal dialogue indicates that he will not succeed in that venture. Moore wanted him to be the ultimate bad boy when really he has STD written all over him. And Ally, oh sweet Ally whom I liked in the last book doesn't come off much better. She whines about how everyone has things that she wants but she does not work to get them for herself- she wants everything handed to her and is envious of her friends' lives. Case in point: she is fired from her job because she is inattentive and error-prone, but has the nerve to blame it on other people! In the real world if you are crappy at your job, you get fired! She is also a terrible friend, too bad Kendall and Lauren do not see this, she is all about "me me me". Now lets bring Morgan and Ally together: there are no sparks between these two and they seem to be together for convenience; for Morgan she's a warm body, and for Ally he is a guy that doesn't treat her like trash. They are both ungrateful. Kenny and Cruise offer them a place to stay rent free as well as food and their awful houseguests have the nerve to complain about Kenny and Cruise getting it on all the time (it is their house you know!). Are Kendall and Cruise supposed to dramatically alter their existence for these two sponges? Then Morgan berates Cruise's bed and breakfast continuously as if he has anything going for him in his life. Moore also writes Cruise as an oaf in this book. I really wanted to like this and am actually being generous by giving it two stars and that was because I read the whole book. Ally and Morgan are destined for a trailer park with a divorce looming in their future...

Where to begin. First and foremost- save your money. This book essentially involves a girl who is bitchy, treats others like ass, only looks for men with money, and acts like an idiot. I just cannot relate to her or her thought process in making decisions. When we get the explanation for why she acts the way she does it is just not justified.

Seriously though...find another read.

Really liked Morgan and Ally together but hated the games they played. All those little "trying to make her/him jealous moves" got old, fast.

But, Morgan did have the capability to melt my heart. Loved his reaction to and acceptance of Ruby. What he did for Ally at the end... total swoon moment.

I just can't fathom why no one told Morgan about Blair sooner- What she did to Cruise and Kenny (because they knew too, obviously)... Even if Morgan wanted to make Ally jealous, he NEVER would have messed around with Blair if he knew that she hurt Kenny.

And another thing... Why did NO ONE speak up for Ally at Pen's party? Letting Blair and Rutger step into their "circle"... Surely a circle of friends wouldn't let Queen B*tch Blair talk to Ally like that? I was so embarrassed for Ally at that dang party.

Really LOVE that Morgan gave Blair a dose of her own medicine at the end of the book but it should've happened a heck of a lot sooner!

I thought that "snake in the grass" Molly got off way too easy. Rubbing herself on Morgan, hitting on him, sneaking into bed with him (C'mon Morgan, you really thought that was Ally?)... So much for letting her down easy... She needed a frying pan to the face! She's crazy!!

The whole club part confused me. I know they needed money but how on earth did they never get caught? Buying those huge amounts of alcohol, the fliers, when the authorities arrived on that tragic day... They were pretty lucky, no doubt.

LOVED getting more Kendall and Cruise! I really want the B & B to generate more business so they can dig themselves out of their financial woes.

Very pleased with Morgan and Ally's HEA... The promise of such a blossoming future for the two of them made my heart smile.

Sadly, I had to DNF this one at about 20%. On audio the narration is wonderful from Kate Rudd & Luke Daniels. But a couple of things bugged me.

First off, Ally (the main character) vascillates between "I want him he's so hot" and "I hate him for no good reason." Hot, cold. Hot, cold. Make up your mind already!

Secondly, the scenes are really drawn out. In the beginning of the book Ally is set to go on stage as a stripper. She's going on, she's not. This is a bad idea so she's going to change her mind. But she doesn't. She steels herself with champagne and nearly falls down and nearly throws up. But she doesn't fall down, she stumbles. Then finally she falls. She never does throw up. I hate being led down a path thinking something's going to happen only to find that it doesn't. That's manipulating me as a reader and is something I detest.

Lastly, the way this is written. So many metaphors! It's clever for a chapter or so. But beyond that, it just got old. Really quickly. As in I quit listening at about 20% (2 hours).

I wanted to like this a lot; it's a good premise. But sadly, it just fell flat for me.

Salve lettrici.

Buona lettura.

As always this is just to let you know before reading my review that I write my reviews as I am reading so I don’t forget anything I wanted to say. So please keep that in mind when you reading this and if it seems like I am making any guesses as to what MIGHT happen this is why.

Okay so Kendall is kind of being hypocritical in this book…at first she tries to set up Ally and her brother…and now she thinks it’s a bad idea after she hears them having sex…which is what she wanted in the first place. She has nowhere to talk about things moving too fast with them when things between her and Cruise moved just as fast…oh and let’s not forget the fact that Kendall and Cruise will soon be step siblings AND married!!! I think she has other things she needs to worry about other than who her brother is or is not sleeping with.
I just had to rant about that…now that I have that out…let me just say I am loving Morgan and I have a feeling that he is going to shatter every wall she has erected around her heart to keep him at bay.
Ally has already fallen she just doesn’t seem to realize it yet but she will in due time.

Molly needs a reality check…and a high dose of it too. If she continues to throw herself at men like she is with Morgan one is going to not only use her for sex but she is going to end up getting hurt badly.

I don’t get this!!! How can Cruise and Kendall’s characters have been so different in the first book to now? Cruise is being an ass to Morgan usually whenever they are in a scene together and Kendall his own sister instead of talking to Morgan she sends Cruise in to talk her battles for her. The Kendall I saw in Someone to Love would NEVER have hid behind her fiancé like she does in this book. I’m hoping things right themselves in this book soon.

I get that the book needs a villain but WTH does Blair have to do with Ally OR Morgan? There is NO reason for her to even be relevant in this book…unless she is trying to get back at Kendall and Cruise by using Morgan but that still makes no sense. Not to mention Ally blaming Blair for losing her job?!?! Ally was the reason Ally lost that job no one else…I like Ally and all but she NEEDS a wake-up call, and she needs to stop being so judgmental and drop her fake act she has going by trying to hide who she really is.
Don’t even get me started on Rutger…can we say asshole??? WHY Ally thinks she is better off being with him is beyond me, but the way she explains her theory makes her sound like a gold-digger…just sayin’.
I think Ally should uproot herself to Oregon with Morgan…seems like a good plan to me.

GAHHHHHH!!!!!
I am so pissed at this book right now I want to throw my tablet across the room!!!

Okay so 66% and Kendall is sounding more like the Kendall from Someone to Love…and it’s about time the Cruise sees his little sister like he did.

Okay so I must say this book frustrated me to no end, and pissed me off so much I was literally ready to throw my tablet and as you can plainly see above I was having issues with characters and certain parts of this book BUT I must say that upon finishing the book…the ending of the more made the up for the issues I had in the beginning. Without giving anything away I just want to say from about 66% on was where this book shined. Cruise and Kendall’s characters were back to the way they were in Someone to Love (which was really pissing me off in the beginning…they acted completely different between the two books and it was like night and day reading about them in this book in the beginning and end of the book). Blair…I still don’t get her angle, but I’m gathering she is a bitter person all around that doesn’t want others to find happiness because I really saw no reason for her in this book. She was hung up on Cruise for so long that seeing her go after Morgan (someone she doesn’t even know) and her hatred for Ally (which we should have been at least clued into before now) felt like it came out of left field (no pun intended) and had no real reason of being there.
I was extremely happy to see Ally finally apologized to not only Morgan but everyone about being so judgmental toward them as well as everyone in general. When Ally explained her upbringing it made sense as to WHY she was so judgmental but I feel we should have been clued into that before the last 20% of the book.

All in all I did really like this book, and I will definitely read the next one because obviously Blair is NOT gone for good yet…that would just be asking for too much, and I’m obviously glutting for more punishment or have the need to want to throw my tablet. I will definitely recommend this book as well as the whole series…but with a warning label attached stating that: May cause random acts of tablet violence.

Decisamente NO!

This was such an awesome, hot, and fun love story. This is the first book that I have read by Addison Moore but it will not be the last. I loved her writing style, the story, and the characters. Someone Like You is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. The couple from the first book ,Kendall and Cruise, is in this book and after getting a glimpse into their story I immediately one-clicked their book.

What started out as a one night stand, Ally and Morgan don't think they will see each other again BUT Morgan just happens to be Ally's best friend Kendall's brother and because of certain circumstances they are forced to live in the same house. Their attraction is undeniable and the sex is melt your panties HOT!! Someone Like You proves that opposites attract isn't always the case. Morgan and Ally have very similar backgrounds and personalities and just click BUT there are many obstacles that get in their way, from Ally's belief that she needs to be with someone that has money to them going to schools far away from each other to persistent and conniving females. Will they be able to get past everything that is standing in their way or is there too much against them?

This was a quick read that captures your attention right away and keeps it throughout. The main and side characters are entertaining and the story is never dull. I would definitely recommend reading Someone Like You and I cant wait to read Someone to Love and learn all about how Kendall and Cruise started out.

Morgan he's such a charmer, "I'm not an abductor, so it's not a problem." His grin widens and my insides squeeze tight. I take in his lean, mean body while the tat on his left arm explodes to life as a fire-breathing dragon. "In fact, I'll let you take me someplace. Hell, I'll even let you bring a weapon." His thoughts are entertaining, "could Ally have taken it? Nope. She was too busy taking things I was willing to give her, like myself. A loose smile plays on my lips because, hot damn, my balls and I appreciated the attention to detail that girl put in." Sometimes Morgan has to make sure he and Ally are on the same page, "I think we're having a miscommunication. And if we are, I'd really appreciate it if you were the one who broke it to my buddy." He glances down at the growing bulge in his jeans, and I swallow down a wicked laugh." And the sayings that boy comes up with are just as entertaining as his thoughts, "her cool hands run down and grab ahold of my di** like she's getting ready to take a dog for a walk. "Whoa, baby. It's not a leash." Once again another book I fell in love with by Addison.

Ok, so I thought it was poorly written, in that much of the story and descriptions, and lingo was 'cheesy'. But in its cheesiness, it made me laugh. I thought it was awful, but funny enough to elicit some chuckles, and I just couldn't stop reading the train wreck. The sexiness wasn't as sexy as I like, so even in that regard, it's not a great 'sex story', but the romance between Ally and Morgan was good enough.

Recensione:

You didn’t hear or interact much with Ally but in book one. So the starting scene of her working at a strip club vs. Starbucks was quite shocking. It’s explained why, but definitely wasn’t expecting the novel to start off the way it does. It opened up the opportunity to learn about Ally, her past and family"

Overall, I wasn’t that into this one. It’s a summer love turned true love with sex, sex, sex! Good Lord. I was honestly disgusted over the amount of sex in this novel. Every trip out or adventure or endeavor the couple took lead to sex; each chapter had sex. Too overdone and wanted more dramatic elements in their relationship other than “well he must think this or she thinks that.”

I was most intrigued by Derek getting arrested along with all of Ally’s personal processions. With the album of her 4 year old and the Fed investigation, I would have thought she would have been questioned or the adopted mother questioned. That would have been dramatic! Kind of sad she lost those Disney snow globes to the investigators

We’re back in Carrington with another couple!

Morgan arrives in town for the summer to attend his mother’s wedding. Meeting Ally, one of his sister’s friends, is as unexpected as the feelings he begins to have for this girl. They are thrown together by fate and his sister attempt at matchmaking.

Over time, they begin to open up to each other while still holding their hearts close to their chest. Ally has struggled through four her life and is just trying to make it something better. She’s continuously knocked down by words and life but she’s determined and a fire burns in her soul. She’s a strong girl and always gets up and dusts herself off. Having Morgan save her from falling gives her hope that she hangs onto for dear life.

While both Ally and Morgan never expected to find love, they do. This was a journey that made me feel with every page I turned that they would and could have a relationship that only some dream about.

Someone Like You is a sweet romance, with a touch of sizzle. Bad boy, frat parties, obsessive stalkers, secrets, this story has a bit of it all. The drama keeps you engaged, to find out how things play out. The humor pops up in random bursts to give you a good laugh. The love fills your heart.

The characters were easy to care about. I loved learning more about Ally & meeting Morgan. While this is the second book in a series, it can be read as a stand alone. However, if you don't read Someone to Love first, this book may contain minor spoilers.

I simply adore Addison's writing style, poetic prose, and sense of humor. She's yet to disappoint me as a reader & fan. (and I seriously doubt she ever will.)

Ugh. Meh. This was not a solid read for me. it's actually like 2.5 to 2.75 stars. I liked the first in the series much better. I'm not much into the whole love at first sight and there was a point I pumped the brakes a little when there was sex and drunkenness ie she was drunk and he wasn't. Anyhoo I'm glad I got this though Kindle Unlimited I would have been passed if I'd bought it.

I read the first book in this series and just had to continue it. I am so glad I did. If you thought Kendall and Cruise were hot just wait until you meet Morgan and Ally. I really loved reading Ally and Morgan's story, it was fun and super hot. I loved Kendall's little brother and I enjoyed getting to see more of her and Cruise's story as well. I am looking forward to the next book too.

I don't know why everyone is writing negative reviews about this book. I liked it as it was just a story of the struggles that people go through in life and try to make it. I have dealt with devious people like a few in this book and I liked that Morgan took the high road. I cheered both Ally and Kendall on when they delivered payback!

So this was actually a re read for me. I read this book 8 years ago. Early on in my romance reading. I remember really liking it. But now I think I may have moved past this level of romance. It wasn’t bad. But the chemistry wasn’t strong. It also was a bit all over the place. I will say it does take me back to those feelings. I wish it had held up. But now I know.

Avrei voluto strangolare Molly diverse volte
