My 4 star rating is for pure entertainment. This was a fun read. Maya is spoiled, self-centered, selfish and hilarious. The cast of characters were all misguided. However, the plot centered on a very important and timely issue and that is cheap deadly drugs! The drug in the book is called K2 and is very reminiscent of Fentanyl. Young and old are overdosing on Fentanyl. I watched a documentary about it a couple of weeks ago.
Drugs NDeed R Wack BUT so is Gossip....the only reason I liked this 1: Nicole Smalls, other wise I would have drug thru this 1 just as I did with the first2....unless Nicole narrates the rest of the series I will stop here
*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review*
Maya Morgan is back at it again, this time using her gossip TV show to dismantle a drug ring that has begun taking its toll on its users.
This was so predictable, but at least it attempted to give a message to the youth that drugs can be dangerous. Still not a fan of Maya, I truly do not understand how someone can be that horrible of a human being and just not care who they hurt in the process.
I have a copy of the fourth book so I GUESS I'll read it.
The book addresses the problem of drugs and dealing in high schools. Drugs aren't just for celebrities or junkies anymore. There is a new drug that deeply affects users very quickly, causing death or permanent disabilities.
Maya, a high school student and celebrity gossip show host, is confronted with this reality when her cousin moves in with her family. An honest portrayal, showing Maya's courage and the importance of family and friendships even when they are being tested.
I love the title for this book.... As Real As It Gets as the drama in this one is taken to another level for the gossip girl Maya Morgan. I loved the addition of her "real" relative Travis. This story is a must read as Maya and Travis .... get Real about life, money and friendships.
