Paul Tillich exercised a major influence on twentieth century Christian thought. In this brief introduction to his work, Dr. Daniel Peterson makes the case for Tillich's broader relevance again as a theologian who can take us beyond the extremes of fundamentalist religion and empty skepticism to a deeper religious faith or spiritual path open to doubt and questioning.
I generally keep my reviews short and that’s assuming I right one. I enjoy well written reviews by others but I rather be simply a finger pointing to the real thing. This book is a great overview of Tillich’s thoughts. It stays out of the weeds and makes his ideas accessible and thereby powerful. For me it’s always been about definitions and Tillich provides an exciting way to contemplate spiritual ideas. It’s a short book well worth the time.
