Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness

Aubrey Drake Graham is a cultural phenomenon – a record-breaking musician, style icon, creative entrepreneur, and actor. Graham has been writing and having fun with poetry as a means of personal expression for quite some time.

His first book, Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness, is a collection of never-before-published poems written together with his long-time friend Kenza Samir. Flowing across 168 pages, the provocative musings translate Graham's wit and talent for wordplay into potent stanzas. Together, these meditations on fame, romance, and relationships offer an unfiltered view of the artist’s inner world.

Misogyny. And I quote “there are two kinds of women in this world: those who like giving head and those I don’t like.” Tf

“There are two types of women in this world, women who like giving head and women I don’t like”

“You were in my dream last night…they call that a nightmare right?”

“I’m not four you…really starting to put two and two together”

“Y’all more liquid than solid”

Rupi Kaur I’m so sorry I took you for granted.

Salute the Redditors that fly the black flag for us who don't want to support this trash with our own money 🫡 Thanks for your sacrifice.

Anyway, Drake's poems make Rupi Kaur look like Sylvia Plath. If you white out the lines, maybe you'll actually get use out of this book. Otherwise, it's a waste of paper.

RIP to all the trees lost for this publication 🪦 💐

Read this whole thing through a series of TikToks, as God intended. As we all could have guessed, it's absolutely awful, but was it awful in an interesting way? No, it wasn't that either.

For most of the book, Drake struggles to put together a coherent sentence, let alone one with any poetry to it. When he manages to clear that hurdle, it's usually something whiny or cruel about either women or people who earn less money than him.

The most generous reading of this book is that he's intentionally scamming his own fans into overpaying for some poorly-written instagram captions that he's managed to stretch into a book through an almost impressive amount of wasted paper.

Any other reading suggests a lack of self-awareness bordering on the concerning.

not to be that person, but the fact that taylor swift had to change her lyrics in better than revenge, but drake can write; "There are two kinds of women in this world: those who like giving head and those I don’t like." in 2023 is insane.

In the words of Tyra Banks, “It is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one."

i don’t know what to say. this felt boring and like drake just pulled a load of random lyrics from his songs + insta captions together..idk if you have to be a drake fan to enjoy this but i’m not a drake fan and i didn’t enjoy this. only read it because my girlfriend purchased it and it was super short (i mean, two lines a page max)- this just was not for me🤷🏼‍♀️.

In this bizarre and mostly uninteresting series of words, Drake showcases himself as an intensely dislikable misanthrope, vainly publishing his notes app thoughts. The most egregious waste of a tree I have ever seen. Luckily I managed to get cover to cover (or tiktok part 1 to tiktok part 96) in less than 10 minutes. Other than being angry it exists, I will certainly never think about this text again.

“Swimming in regret….is not cardio”

I don’t know… regretting tracking down this book online definitely has me feeling tired like doing cardio would.

Here are some other laughable nuggets of “stream of consciousness” and “poems”:

“My therapist told me to stop listening to what other people tell me… but if I take her advice wouldn’t I be listening to what other people tell me?”

“You’re not thuggin’, you’re kidding…. One sided beef is not beef, it’s chicken”

“It’s always some unemployed ho tryna work my nerves”

“Said you’re one in a million, not one in seven point eight billion, relax”

“You’re nothing to write home about”

Drake, are you ok?

Anyway, DJ Khaled said it best after reading it - “He wrote a sentence!”

😂
