Inspired by an old song by the same title... Max is a burnt-out rockstar trying to cope with the loss of his parents and a decade-old betrayal. Harper is a young woman fighting to escape her abusive home and dead-end future. In Benson, an unlikely duo comes together to reignite lost passion and heal old wounds. Love and heartbreak collide in this right people at the wrong time romance.

This book was pretty good! I loved the characters and how personable they were and I could relate to a lot of them on a certain level.
This book had an excellent story and the cliffhanger... I will definitely be reading the next book when it comes out!
This book is a solid 3.5-3.75 stars from me. My only issue with it is that I am really picky and there were a few grammatical errors. It didn't really bother me that much I am just really OCD so it drives me crazy sometimes..
Other than that, though, I definitely recommend this book! It was a good romance story with awesome characters.
Oh, and there were horses. So that made this book EPIC!
Sundown is a bitter sweet story of a young girl and a slightly older rockstar coming back to his small town home. The FMC's abusive family homelife is a sad tale of parental loss and neglect. Her brother takes advantage, working her like a dog and keeping her dreams of college just out of reach. There is a heartbreaking scene where the MMC, Max makes her a birthday cake from scratch and she breaks down sobbing at the gesturer, having not had such a simple act performed for her in years. The novella ends on a cliff hanger so happy ever after does not happen quite yet but hopefully it will be in the cards for them in book 2.
I hate cliff hangers. Normally, they're attached to clumsy writing where the author really needed more time to figure out the plot. That's not evident here. This is a genuine complete episode, like a daytime serial that could run for years. First, there are two dynamically charismatic characters to root for. Second, there are richly drawn antagonists who fill in the proper dynamics as far as not so much villainy but are just drawn bad. I have to read Book 2 soon.
I really hate all the right people! The story was quick and easy to follow.
Cons: Definitely needs editing. Grammatical errors and continuity issues abound. There are plot points that are obviously dropped in place just to put people in the right place at the right time.
Overall, not a bad read, but definitely needs attention.
Oh, wow! This book was so emotionally raw and real! L.C.’s characters felt like real people with real emotions! She really made me feel for Harper and the amount of real world problems she’s had to deal with in her young life. There was so much heart in the story and the connection between the two main characters was my favorite part! Amazing read!
An MMC with punk rock antics and piercings? YES PLEASE. This was a fast paced story that had me holding my breath until the end and I certainly enjoyed the southern charm, as it's something I'm not really familiar with. Looking forward to the next book to see how things continue.
I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, because I want everyone to be able to experience this the same way that I did. I’m a pretty fast reader, and I downloaded sundown on Kindle unlimited and I read in about three hours mainly because I was at work but it is such a fun, fast read, with that being said, there are a few things that could be triggering to some. This was such a great read the main characters Both have such good hearts, and the chemistry is great and it left off on a pretty intense cliffhanger so I honestly can’t wait until the next book! you should all read it.
Not how I was expecting this story to go but quite the breath holder and you can't help but want to know what happens next, feels like some if the story is missing but that OK to.
If you want a fast paced story with a little spice this is for you. The ending draws you in to want to know what is gonna happen next. I loved the small town girl and city boy love story.
