We read this book on my tablet. With that being said, I should note that when my 18 month old daughter sees my Tablet, she goes bananas and throws a total tantrum if she doesn't get to play with it. For that reason alone, I hide it from her and only bring it out when she's in a good mood and I already have a transitition activity planned for after tablet time. I really enjoyed the book and the sing-song rhymes but I would have preferred to read it the good 'ole fashion way with pages she could tear. The book kept her attention for the first half but by mid-point, she was ready to go play the games she was used to. We gave it a second chance when we spent the night at my sister's. I had my 9-year old niece read the book and act out the pages without letting her see my tablet. This seemed to work much better. Overall, great story and pictures but I would have preferred to read it in an actual book.

I was supposed to review this book Fly Into Fun (Jenna Fun), but didn't have any communication with the author. When I went to add the book to my products not received post, I realized I bought the book during a free promotion.

I also noticed the book underwent a name change. The name of the book to review was skate into fun, but when I clicked on the link, it took me to fly into fun. Yet, when I went to read the book, it was skate into fun.

Fly into Fun is written by Nev Nickelz and illustrated by Mariah Grace. The book is a children's book. The book was a quick read. The book was about Jenna, who wanted to grow up to be a ice skater, then she explored other career opportunities. She was a forest ranger, who protected big foot, and a hula hooper.

The book was a cute read, perfect for small kids. It also rhymes.

I also loved the graphics in the book. They was bright and colorful. Grace did an excellent job.

Skate Into Fun is a whimsical and very imagination heavy children's book. I am impressed for numerous reasons. The first is because there is a variety of jobs/occupations for everyone. It isn't just the typical; president, astronaut, etc. For any child, they can dream of even becoming a professional hulahooper and that speaks to the writing and creativity of the author. Something else I noticed is that while this book seems targeted towards young girls, the jobs are unisex. In this, if a young boy reads it, he can still relate if he chooses too.

Both of these reasons show readers like myself that this book is even more beautiful because it's more inclusive of everyone and that is what more children's books need.

Definitely worth purchasing for a young child in your life. Beautifully done Nev and Mariah.

"Skate Into Fun" by Nev Nickelz is a brightly colorful Level #1 Fun Reads Book, in which Jenna, a little girl, dreams of all the things she might like to be when she grows up. Jenna's imagination is a good one, and she comes up with an awful lot of great ideas for things she could be or do when she's an adult.

I may be wrong, but I believe a Level #1 Fun Reads Book is intended to be read by a child who is in the process of learning to read. It may be intended for children already able to read, but either way I think "Skate Into Fun" is a story that children will be attracted to. The brilliant colors, coupled with the exciting career choices Jenna suggests, should really get kids excited about reading.

This would be a valuable book for any early reader to have on the bookshelf. Even the older siblings might get some good ideas for what to be when they grow up!

Skate Into Fun (Jenna) by Nev Nickelz
I wanted to read this book because it shows Jenna skating and that's one adventure we've yet to experience with our grandkids when we visit once a year.
Illustrated very colorful children's book showing what one girl dreams of becoming when she gets older. First she selects being a ice skater, then a captain of a ship.
Love how it allows one to imagine what it would be like and just being allowed to dream all these things is super. A pilot in a plane is my favorite because my grandsons dad does work at Boeing!
There are 10 different career choices for girls and boys to dream about.
I received this book from LibraryThing.com via the author Dr. Nev in exchange for my honest review.
