It was brief, but packed with emotion and realism. Truly felt as though we were reading some sort of memoir of a girl and her three sisters. I truly thought that they would end up going to Christine's friends' house. The mother who baked with them had an awfully kind soul, and I was certain she'd take them under her wing. Perhaps if her character was a bigger piece and there were more pages to the book, eh?

Christine, Chloe, Katie, and Lucy were four sisters who always stuck together. they used to have a happy life, until their parents died and they were sent off to their Aunt Mel. sister to their mother, Aunt Mel was a mean lady who abused the sisters so very often. she got paid looking after the sisters, yet she couldn't stop complaining. not only at home, the sisters were also bullied in school, especially for having no parents. however, Aunt Mel had kept a secret from them, something that could have changed their lives but she kept it hidden away. one day, decided that they had enough, the sisters runaway together, facing a life even more dangerous that it already was.
i received a free e-book from the author in exchanged for a review. the book was a fast read since it was a short story. it took more than half way through the book before the sisters decided to runaway. however, going through the first half of the book, getting absorbed into the experience of being bullied together with the sisters made it even more engaging. the book was an absolutely easy read. it was also easy to accept that they were too young to consider the danger of running away, facing the big bad world, especially comparing to the already torturous life they lived. the ending was somewhat unexpected, but surprisingly it was rewarding and satisfying to know that the girls were finally in good hands. despite being short, the book was an entertaining read.

The concept of the story is really good. The emotions were raw and believable. The story is direct and easy to read. The drawings really helped in creating the story. It somehow gives the reader a glimpse of how the story happens or what the character looks like.
The story centers on Chloe Pevensie and her sisters, Christine, Katie and Lucy. Under the custody of their Aunt Mel, the sisters try to find their way through life, but was met with a lot of difficulties.
I've noticed a few grammatical/typographical errors along the way, but the book is still in it's early stages, I guess, so something could be done to fix it.
I can't wait to see this book published physically. I'm sure young readers would love this story.
The story of the book reminds us that even after every struggle we face, there's always hope so we have to hold on to that.

Anfal Khaliq certainly knows how to tell a dramatic tale! From the first page of this fast paced novella she draws you into the tempestuous world of the children at the centre of the story. You dread their days at school with bullies and their equally gruelling evenings at home with their supposedly 'loving' guardian. So you understand why they flee this home and search for a better life, even while you bite your fingernails a bit hoping it all turns out well for them.
This is an engaging story for young readers. It has a strong sense of realism in the way she has developed her characters, and Anfal draws great drama out the events over the fairly brief period of time which the book covers.
I particularly liked the very clever way she finished the book which neatly tied it back to its beginnings and gave the sense of the narrative flow something extra in retrospect.

Simply captivating!
One of the books I read in a shortest span of time! A story with a straight-to-the-point plot. Beating-around-the-bush-side-stories are not an option. A well-written story that I know many can relate as this is really happening in many societies. I highly recommend this, especially to the young minds, as they may learn lessons on how to stand on their own feet in the test of times. This also implies how the bond of siblings cannot be broken, unselfish love, survival and hope.

A very professionally done book, I have to give the author a lot of credit. This is my all time favorite out of all of them, and I look forward to reading more from this author.
I must say this is a remarkable achievement, especially to have written so many books to such a good standard at such a young age, of just fourteen.
