The Book of Conquests
Author: Jim Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Paper Tiger [Paperback]
Year: 1978

I am very lucky to own a copy of this beautiful book which I purchased many years ago during the late 1980s. It has been a huge inspiration to me throughout my life as a writer and poet. I have kept it in its original state as one of my most treasured possessions.

The artwork is of the most wonderful standard, bright and vibrant and you can actually see through the eyes of the characters, the battles, the love, and the loss, demonstrating the wonderful mythical tales Ireland has to offer. The Celtic design is amazing.

It may be difficult to get a copy of this book or if so it may be quite expensive to buy but if you can, I highly recommend it.

Jim Fitzpatrick, born: 01 Mar 1944 in Dublin, Ireland is a wonderful Irish artist with an incredible talent to produce beautiful work. Have a lookout for his latest prints if you would like to own one of his outstanding pieces of work.

This is so cool. I mean, I've always been keen on Irish mythology, but with Fitzpatrick's retelling alongside his AMAZING artwork it's all rather mind-blowing. I somehow managed to snag a first edition, and I'm definitely keeping it.

I first read this book when I was like 10. Have loved Fitzpatrick's art ever since. I appreciate his work even more as an adult. I love the mythic feel of the whole story.

Amazing book. Read the Dutch translation. Beautiful artwork and a fabled story of the First Battle of Moy Tura.

An epic and well sourced tale accompanied by tasteful visuals. The scenes, inspired by a.o. Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints) and comic books, create a fitting sense of timelessness.

This is the first volume in Fitzpatrick's illustrated series, telling the story of the Mabinogion, the coming of the Tuatha De to Ireland. The Fir Bolg, Nuada, the Morrigan, and all the old favorites, lavishly painted.
