He wasted no time scooping me up off the bark and thrusting my body against his. He clung to me, allowing no space between us, pushing his hand into my soaking hair. Eventually I removed my face from his chest and stared up into his eyes; they were enlarged with worry and brimming over with sadness.


















'I felt a powerful pull toward him and, strangely, but of the many questions I desired answers to, the only one I truly cared about was if he had loved me. I chuckled to myself, almost in disgust at my own indulgence. As if someone like him would have loved someone like me. He was exceptional, and I was not.'

I’ve gotten to a stage in life where I’ve pushed the stomaching of vampire tales just too far. There’s only so much a person can take and I’ve just about overdone my share and am ready to hurl the excess.
“But we have to be cautious. You’re certainly precious.” He smiled.
