"It was a dot in an edgeless universe that stretched to infinity. Yet with all that considered, I still wouldn’t want to be anywhere else." One boring summer in a boring little town, Alexander Taylor makes an attempt to avoid going stir-crazy by taking a walk to the local cinema. Little does he know that he’ll meet Scarlett Stevenson, an enigmatic redhead that captivates Alex and puts him on an emotional journey that will lead him through science-fiction TV shows, eccentric Swedish performances of Shakespeare, and existential cheeseburgers. Backwards From Infinity is a coming-of-age tale about friendships, relationships, and reflecting on the idea that not all that glitters is gold.
I am giving this 5 stars cause I know my teenage self would have given it that many, not that it doesn’t deserve it now but being inside a teenage boys head was a little hard for me 😂 it was mostly the chapters where the boys just game together and idk not my thing. But the story is really beautiful and heartbreaking. As someone with bipolar disorder yeah it hits a little different. I really like how it is written and how it felt kinda full circle at the end.
