Life is but a game to be played and all the characters are playing theirs in different ways. The principal game that Giselle Franklin and Simon Harrington engage in is the one of seduction and love. Neither has any idea how quickly flirtatious fun evolves into something more serious…and more deadly. Simon Harrington, a US marshall on special assignment for President Grant, loves the excitement and the danger his job provides and has no intentions of being tied down with love and a family. He’s come to Louisville to investigate a series of incidents involving the new thoroughbred racetrack being built. It’s up to him to ensure that the first running of the Kentucky Derby will take place without a hitch. Giselle Franklin, a coquettish, French American whose self-appointed task is to reel in every available man in the area, also craves excitement and adventure. She’s determined to help Simon, but doing so only lands her into bigger trouble. Twists and turns abound in this fun, fast-paced, suspense-filled story where Giselle and Simon work to stay a step ahead of another, more devious game player intent on ending their journey to finding love and happiness.

The discription of this book says it all. I enjoyed this fun faced paced story. Giselle and Simon were a perfect match for each other. She was a big flirt and he didn't let her actions make him weak to her, or did they? Their minds and bodies played the Games, but their hearts were playing for keeps. I like reading fictional books like this because it takes you away to an imaginary time and place. Things that do not always happen in real life. There is excitement, flirting, detailed sex, and alot of fun emotions in this story. A fun read
I loved the sequel to Time Will Tell. The playful banter between them was humorous and just all around good fun seeing them interact with each other. Their arguments and teasing were hilarious and although she might across as ditzy to others she was actually very mature not only for her age but also for her status. She took full responsibility for her actions when others would have played victim and never expected anything more of Simon knowing he wasn't the commitment type. She didn't try to trap him into marriage even though she easily could have gotten her way. I respect her and have to say she has been one of my favorite heroines of this author. Simon knew to be wary of Giselle's charm but still managed to get caught up. He was aware he was under her spell but not completely submissive which made him different from the other men. What irked me was the meddling parents and old bats with nothing to do. They would have eventually worked things out themselves. I don't like that they felt they needed to stick their noses where they didn't belong. They kinda just invited themselves into the Twin Oaks home. Other than that I loved the rest of the book and this is definitely going to be read again a few more times.
