Discovered this at a used bookstore, thought it was about writing prose in fiction, and got it for a quarter some years ago. Opened it to find out it was more about writing research papers for college. Recently found it again and read from it. Pretty decent writing book that quotes George Orwell and other people for writing examples and making points. The examples in it were mostly helpful, given with nuance and reassurances. Some of the examples in the book are pretty outdated, but the overall principles in the book still hold to today. I was surprised the book is not more well-known, finding it on Goodreads, but it could just be that there are other better books out there, and fiction writers tend to read more books specifically about fiction writing.
