I'll Be Watching You: True Stories of Stalkers and Their Victims

Rate this book
Stalking is on the increase. And it isn't only celebrities who become the targets of irrational and desperate individuals. Men and women with everyday jobs who lead ordinary lives can just as easily become someone else's obsession. Since John Lennon's murder in 1980 the world has recognised the danger that lies behind this insidious and threatening behaviour, but has been slow to act against it. In this thoroughly researched, serious investigation into a disturbing phenomenon, Richard Gallagher interviews victims, police, psychologists - and those who 'stalk the stalkers' - to provide remarkable accounts of obsession, delusion and terror. A comprehensive investigation into stalking - the crime of the modern age. This is an extensively researched book on a growing crime phenomenon. This book will appeal to fans of true crime and those looking for a serious report on the issue.

My specialty is teaching people how to communicate in difficult situations. As a former customer service executive - and now as a speaker, trainer, and practicing therapist - my books and training programs explore the mechanics of how we communicate, based on recent principles of behavioral psychology.

I am perhaps best known for my two #1 customer service bestsellers The Customer Service Survival Kit (AMACOM, 2013) and What to Say to a Porcupine (AMACOM, 2008), as well as How to Tell Anyone Anything (AMACOM, 2009), which explores how to handle difficult workplace conversations.

If you are looking for "smile training" or basic advice on communications skills, there are lots of books out there. But if you want to learn what to say to someone after you've just towed their car away - or how to talk to a co-worker who needs to shower more often - or what will defuse a toxic boss - you've come to the right place! Enjoy my books, or Google me to learn more. Welcome!

Stalking is an increasingly worrying crime made even worse by the internet nowadays too.
Looking back on an old breakup I was what is called stalked now back then and in this time he'd have been prosecuted but back in the 80's unless you were physically and visibly hurt the police could do nothing !!

Inside look at some famous and not-so-famous cases in both the US and UK. Included are John Lennon's stalker, Hinkley (who stalked Jodie Foster) and people who stalked non-celebrities and even women stalking men. A good, solid look at stalking in the pre-2000s.
