What would you do if your blood could cure cancer?

18-year-old Nicolette Talloway is the target of a worldwide manhunt because of her blood type. When delivered via transfusion, her blood heals any ailment a human has and strengthens their immune system.

The cure for cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other previously incurable diseases is running through her veins. Her blood is the only type of its own known to exist.

As a result, Nicolette is no longer a private citizen but is the world's most wanted and sought-after human being. As she runs from government appointed agents, the question begins to shift from what her blood can do to why she has it.

Before I begin, I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“I run. I run as hard as I can in the middle of the forest, cell phone pasted to my ear. I run so hard my chest feels like an inferno. I ignore the burn.”

Well, well, well…WHAT a book!!! This is probably one of the most unique and interesting story plots I have read for a loooooong time. I almost NEVER read books that don’t have a romance element in it, and though this book does, I chose to read it not because of the romance factor but for the creative, action-packed plot it had. And when I say creative, it has action, mystery, betrayal, political scandal, and romance. This is one that has it all!!!

“Sometimes I feel like if it weren’t for the numerous records of my existence, I would literally vaporize from the consciousness of those around me. How do I begin to describe myself to you?”

Well, for starters, Nicolette Talloway is our heroine. Painfully shy and an introvert, she is the second child in her family, sandwiched between a blonde bombshell of a sister and a gorgeous, but sick brother. She doesn’t get much attention from her parents or classmates, and as a result, doesn’t have any friends and is often ignored.

“I’m the kid who was just too something: too weird, too skinny, too tall, too pale. Never cool enough to be noticed, but not strange enough to be picked on.”

Well that all changes when a fateful accident leads Nic to donate her blood to save her brother, only to find out she doesn’t have a blood type, at least not one that’s medically recorded. Not only does her blood heal her brother from his accident, but also erases all signs of his cancer!! DING, DING, DING!!!! BAM, the whole world gets wind of this and all of sudden, unknown Nic is celebrity Nic.

“I used to have fantasies of what it would be like to be noticed and recognized by others. Now that it’s a reality, I’d rather go back to my life pre-Nate’s accident. If only I knew what I had when I had it. Privacy, for one thing. The ability to disappear for another. And at least back then, I had more time with my family.”

Poor Nic. My heart broke for her as I read on and on about how she was ushered into the hospital and poked and prodded at like an animal. I was mentally shouting in my head ‘she’s a person, too!’ but the examinations just kept coming. And then I just knew. I just knew that something worse was going to happen. And it did.

“I don’t know how long I cry but I try my best to keep my sobs as quiet as possible. No one is there to see the tears. No one is there to dry them. In the tiny corner of Harvest Hope Baptist Shelter, I finally allow myself to grieve the loss of my parents.”

Unfortunately, all doesn’t go as planned and tragedy strikes. Nic is forced to run from the government agents, and relies on that one doctor who actually cared about her, not her blood. Jason is the most amazing, selfless, and brave character in the book. He sets aside his life, his career for Nic and helps her escape from this nightmare. Though he does harbor guilt about being on the task force that revealed Nic’s blood to the public, he does have deeper feelings for her, and Nic can’t help but be attracted to Jason.

As for the “bad guys,” I must say, Michelle goes big. The President herself is involved, and never have I wanted to shoot a President more than this woman here. On one hand I understood her motives; after all, she is the leader of a nation. On the other, she yielded to pride and greed, a destructive combination.

“China: National debt cancelled. Saudi Arabia: 50% of oil for five years. North Korea: Tentative treaty. Japan: 75% price reduction on imported technology.”

“All of this in exchange for this girl’s blood. The things I can do for this country. The things that will mark my place in history as the first female Commander-in-Chief. This is an opportunity.”

This situation is kind of like the question ‘should we kill millions to save billions.’ If I were the President, I honestly would have no idea what to do. Under any circumstances, however, does that give her the right to put a hit on Nic’s parents!!! I mean, what was this lady thinking??!! Even if Nic wanted to help before, she isn’t going to now.

And so goes the chase. Nic and Jason practically take a road trip to escape agents, meanwhile facing betrayal and fighting for their lives. My heart was pounding the entire time I read this book; it was like a giant thrill ride that never ends. I love how within all this sadness and fear, there is humor and love, just the right amount to alleviate the tension in the atmosphere. Nic is one tough chick, and in the crucial moments, she always breaks through.

“No school, no work, no parents, and no siblings. It’s like my life has narrowed into this tunnel vision of trying to get away and stay ahead of those literally out for my blood.”

I was both excited and apprehensive to read the end, fearing that Nic wouldn’t be able to escape and hope for Nic’s future. To my delight, Michelle ended this book perfectly. I wouldn’t have it any other way. For a unique plot like this story, it has to have a plausible conclusion, and Michelle has done just that. This book is a great read if you want to escape from reality for a couple of hours!!

What I LOVE LOVE LOVE about this book:
1. Fast paced
2. Sucked in from page 1
3. Dual POV
4. I actually really like the cover of the book.
5. A good twist in the plot.
6. Unique story line.
7. The love story that builds with Jason and Nicolette. It doesn't over shadow the story line but has a enough to help the story along.

Can you imagine being the "CURE ALL" for all types of disease and problems? Can you imagine going from the NOBODY, that every one over looks and forgets is there, to the major SOMEBODY that no one will leave alone? That's how Nicolette feels once her blood is discovered to be a cure after an accident her brother is in. She's now a national commodity and everyone literally wants a piece of her. People will stop at nothing to get at her. They will literally offer up a price for her blood. Even the President wants a piece of her. Luckily there are those who want to help her, be her voice, and care enough to know that she is a HUMAN BEING too.

I really liked Jason. He see's Nicolette for who she is as soon as he meets her. He can see how others don't even see her at all. He gets to know her over a years time as he draws her blood and helps to test it. He's a bit older then her when they first meet, so he bid's his time pretty good until she is legally of age. They build up a friendship that turns to more down the road and he's truly the one and only who cares the most for her from the get go.

I really liked this book a lot. It was a fast paced, quickly solved, well planned out story line. I loved that even though the story moved fast and things resolved quickly, it was the best medicine for me as I'm slowly losing interest in books that drag the plot and secret's on for a long period of the book.

If you want a book that's: fast paced, starts off right from page one in to the thick of things, a twist, betrayal, murder, quick resolution, holds your attention from the get go, and a little romance thrown in to a unique story, then look no further. Michelle has a great imagination and I truly appreciate that.

I have something to confess… I have… one-click fever. Yes. I am a one-click fanatic. I do not go crazy as in one-clicking books I don’t like. But when I read the blurb on this one, I just had to have it. And my instinct did not steer me wrong! This was a great book, written very well and I loved the angle! Man, if we had this cure, would we act just like the people in this book did? It was downright dispicable! And I am not talking cute little minions here.
But I also loved the way love and hope was shown throughout the book, like a beacon. I really liked the way the author “kept” her own voice, told her own story and did not feel pressure to sprinkle in some spicy sex scenes.
Original all the way. Kept me on my toes and very happy, I must say. I am looking forward to reading more of her books!!

**Author's Note**

Obviously I'm biased in my rating of this novel. I want to thank the readers for checking it out and especially the readers who have taken the time to share their thoughts on the story. I particularly appreciate the kind reviews that have off-set some of the more nasty ones.

Just to be clear, if you have a difficult time suspending disbelief in most situations, this book may not be your cup of tea. It is definitely on the more extreme end of fiction and due to the fast pace, a lot of the plot points turn quicker than we would allow for in reality. I did consult with doctors and medical professionals in regards to the medical aspect of this novel. I also researched the structure of the U.S. government and worked as an intern at Disneyland so I know that park inside and out.

The storyline with Eva (and I won't give away details for those who haven't yet read) was purely based on imagination and I encourage you to play the Bourne Supremacy soundtrack as you read her scenes. There are spiritual themes discussed in the novel along with profanity. I leave it to your discretion if you read but you've been warned.

If you decide to leave a review, friendly or not, please flag your review for any spoilers you include. Thanks again for taking the time to check out this book. I truly hope you enjoy it.

Nicolette is an average girl who is so average that nobody notices her... until her blood is discovered to be capable of curing any disease. After being probed by researches, Nicolette runs away from home to avoid being kidnapped by the FBI. All the while, the same question runs through her mind: What reason is there for my blood being special?

The premise of this story hooked me... but early on I had trouble suspending my disbelief. For example: How on earth is there a doctor who is only 21 (well, we find out later that he was a child prodigy... but still – it felt like an excuse to have a love interest close to Nicolette’s age)? The whole blood donation crisis struck me as odd... I can’t quite put a finger on it. I wish there had been more foreshadowing for other parts of the book. Perhaps that would have convinced me more.

I was also wondering about how much blood they are taking from Nicolette. I know it takes a few hours to restore the liquid content of your blood, but the hemoglobin levels / red blood cells take longer (a few weeks). I’ve donated blood before (they take one pint). But perhaps any discrepancies here can be explained by corruption and greed on the government’s part or time gaps (also: I’m far from being an expert).

On some technical notes: there were some problems with dialogue punctuation and distracting dialogue tags, but except for one passage they weren’t glaring. There could have been more variety in sentence structure (and in character names: Nicolette, Nate, Natalie and finally Nick — to many N’s for me!)

This book has Christian themes, which for me was a nice touch. I don’t think they came across too strongly, considering the conflicts in the story. Type N has the potential for a sequel, but ends on a satisfying note. Overall, I liked it, but my disbelief was never quite suspended. I wish I had the authoritative knowledge to dispel my concerns and answer my questions.

I had high hopes for this story as the premiss sounded really interesting. Nicolette, a young teenage girl, has a unique blood type that can cure any disease when give via transfusion. When she is thrust into the limelight and becomes an instant commodity, she goes on the run from those that want to use her.
I had a couple issues with this book, mainly stemming from my inability to suspend my disbelief for a couple important story points. Perhaps if the author had set this up in an alternate universe I could have accepted that a patient's private data could be released to the public without consent at a press conference, that the heroine could learn to defend herself in hand-to-hand combat in a day, or that a scientist could definitely say with one day of research that it was impossible to synthesize the protein from Nicolette's blood so that it could be mass produced. There are so many directions this book could have gone, but where it did go was not very satisfying or realistic.
This is a really, really fast paced book told from multiple points of view. The editing is good, with only a few misplaced words. Also, one other note. The prosthelytizing in this book, while not excessive, was uncomfortable (for me at least).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This book really sucked me in! It picked up the pace very quickly, which was nice, but I also wish there had been a little more storyline leading up to when she starts the clinical trials and also leading up to the drama with her parents. I adored the characters from the shelter so much!! I also love that Jason is unabashedly Christian, which was a pleasant surprise. I was hoping to see that Nic would accept Christ, although I am assuming that she does. I really liked this book and will definitely recommend it to others. I wish it had been longer. I want more!! :)

The premise to the story was a good one: What if someone was born with a completely new blood type and that blood could cure diseases.
The basic story the author chose to write was also good and I was appreciative of the fact that there were very few spelling errors (my pet peeve).

As much as I thought the premise was original and interesting, I did have several issues with the story as it was written.

It’s too bad this book hadn’t been beta-tested prior to release. Or if it had, they did a horrible job or the author didn’t take their recommendations seriously. Whichever the case, it could have easily been a better book if the issues above had have been addressed. It wasn’t a bad book but if you want readers to suspend disbelief, you have to make it believable and this story didn’t do that for me.

*Received book in exchange for an honest review*

Nicolette is an 18 year old girl that seems to just fade into the background of life; she has no friends and even her own family talks over her head like she isn't there. Then one night her younger brother gets badly injured in an accident and they test Nicolette for a blood donor only to find out that she doesn't have a blood type. They chance it, give it to him and not only does he make a complete recovery, his cancer and asthma no longer are there either. It appears that Nicolette's blood is the cure that the world has been looking for for every disease imaginable. But is it worth the price? Soon she goes on the run with the doctor that took her blood and is hoping with every step they take they make it out alive....

Oh my goodness, I couldn't put this book down. It was definitely a short story, but what a story!! I loved seeing Nicolette find her voice and start standing up to people like the FDA and the President, especially since for most of her life she was thought of as invisible. I was drawn into the story of her going on the run, seeing where she would end up and if she ultimately succeed in living her own life or become a lab rat for the world. And I could not believe that FDA agent asking her if she was being selfish!!! I also liked that there was the element of romance but it was in no way the forefront of the story, but like an underlying thought and the action was full in front. And I loved how Jason didn't even think twice about going with her, even after being betrayed by people he thought he could trust and knowing what could happen to him. All in all, this book would make a fantastic movie and I would definitely be in line to see it. Fantastic job :-)

This was a very fun read! Nicolette has a blood type noone else in the world has, and it turns out that it has the power to cure any disease! Last night I couldn't sleep, so I got up at 2am and started reading this book, by five am I was almost done, but so tired. The book was so much on my mind, that I dreamed of Nicci and Jason all morning! Got up at nine and finished it quickly!

I really hope there is a part two... even though she seemed to wrap things up neatly in those last few pages, I can see a book 2 in the future (crossing my fingers).

There is action and romance and it's just a really awesome story!
I am so blessed to have been lucky enough to win this in a goodreads giveaway! Thank you!

There was so much to love about this book. I was very happy that the book moved quickly without lulls in the story line. The book made me think as well. What would happen if this situation actually occurred? Honestly, I think it is pretty likely that this exact thing would have happened-which is really sad. I also enjoyed getting the story from both Nikki and Jason's point of view since they both held an important role in the story and so did the things that happened to each of them. I was so happy to see where they ended up as well. It may not have been ideal in some ways, but it was right.

This book presented an intriguing question about whether this could physically be possible. It also presented the social and political and personal ramifications if it did occur. I enjoyed this book and would consider reading any sequels that might be presented. Age old question: what would you do if it was possible for you to save the world...

The premise of Type N was intriguing--a girl with a blood type all of its own, and not only that, but her blood can cure any disease. Now everyone is after her, including some powerful, nasty people.

I enjoyed the budding relationship between Nicolette and Jason. The story was suspenseful, action packed, and a quick, easy ready.

But, if I may say it, several things in the book bothered me. First, it hasn't been professionally edited. There are numerous typos, missing words, or incorrect usages such as "vice grip" instead of vise grip, blonde with an "e" for male characters, etc. I tried to just enjoy the story, but it was a bit distracting at times. Perhaps just a hazard of being an editor. >_<

It also bothered me that God's name is taken in vain in a Christian book. Sure, I get that the author wants her characters to sound authentic, but where is the line between authenticity and dishonor, as it is a Christian book?

I enjoyed the story line for what is was, but several minor things made it less believable and therefore less enjoyable for me. First, it took a good hour for anyone's blood group and type to be determined at the hospital in the story. Perhaps it was that way in the past, but blood-type tests are as instantaneous as putting drops of blood on a test strip card these days, and it takes minutes at most. Second, Nicolette and Jason became fighting experts after just one day of intensive training. If only! Nicolette is better at fighting after one day than most people who have trained in a martial art for years. Third, the ~ahem~ eyeball scene. Things suddenly got very graphic and somewhat gratuitous. I don't consider myself to be a squeamish person, but that description was really over the top. Fourth, or perhaps third continued, it doesn't work that way! Ugh! Just have to point out that an eyeball is attached ... 'Nuff said. Fifth, Jason just seems too perfect. Can the man do no wrong? Don't get me wrong, I love a nice male character, but he seemed to have no flaws whatsoever, was always thinking of Nicolette or others before himself, and was just too good to be true in almost every way.

Okay, whew! Overall, and to summarize, it was still a good story. I enjoyed the plot and the suspense, and I cared about the characters. With a little more polishing and a professional edit, this story could do even better.

What would you do if your blood could cure cancer?

I loved how the author mixed different themes in this book. Family love, romantic love, friendship, science, politics and religion. I was really impressed by the way it all made sense even if there is a lot going on, it was so easy to follow what was happening.

Nicolette was such a lonely person. She is quiet and people around her, even her family automatically let her be, thinking that is what she prefers. But Nicolette wants people to see her, to understand that she never wanted to be alone and what she really want is to connect with them especially her family. This is her reality until her already sick brother gets in a car accident and needs blood to survive. But no ones blood matches her brother's so they test hers and it seems to heal him and not only by helping him gain back the blood he lost, but healing his earlier health problems and making him healthier than before the accident. From here on Nicolette's blood is being examined and before she knows it she's the most important person in the world.

During the examination of her blood at the hospital she meets a very bright and young doctor. Jason sees Nicolette when she is visiting her brother after getting the call about his accident. No one really sees her, but he does. He spends time with her and they begin to bond and develop a friendly relationship, though both of them have deeper feelings.

"I'm used to it. People don't see me."

"That's not true," he says. "I see you."

When the doctors start to push the examinations and the government wants to take over the whole blood-cure situation, Nicolette is in big trouble and she has to run. She knows that involving Jason is dangerous but he's the only one she trusts to help her.

"Jason, this could end really badly."

"I know. But it won't end with her alone."

I actually liked both Nicolette and Jason equally. Nicolette is very innocent and havn't really been living at all. During her time running with Jason, he introduces her to different people. She make friends and learns about believing that there is a reason for everything, especially when God gifts you with a cure. The religious theme in this one meant a lot to me as a Christian. I'm not the one who spends her Sunday's in church or have read the whole Bible. But I do believe, I have read parts of the Bible and my family tries to go to church on holidays like Easter and Christmas. That is why I loved how Jason's belief helped Nicolette through this dangerous and unfair situation. He made Nicolette believe her life and her blood had a very special purpose in the world and he made her believe in herself and bloom into the person she was always suppose to be.

This book is a standalone for now but in the end the author mentions a continuation of this story. There is no cliffhanger and it ends with a happy-for-now which was satisfying enough. Though I want to know how Jason and Nicolette will live with her blood being a cure, so if the author is releasing another one I'm sure I will read it. I usually don't read young adult books since I prefer a bit more steam in the books I read, but this one was good enough that I wasn't too focused on the non-sex. I really enjoyed this great orginal story.

******* I am giving my honest review in exchange for an ARC ********

I am giving this book 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed it the concept is original so that was welcomed. I enjoyed the roller coaster ride we went on with her as well. I am not sure what i would do if i had a blood type that was not a known type and then add the fact that it cured any disease. Well, i might have locked myself in a underground prison. I cant imagine everyone turning to you for help. But our main character Nicolette does. She wants to help and the kicker is she wants to because that's the right thing to do. This book is a great example of how greediness is the link to destruction. This is a quick read and will leave you thinking... If only and man would that suck. This is the reason why we cant do it all. If you are debating whether or not you should read this book, let me help you... Read the book! It will make you laugh and feel for Nic.

Some of the only flaws i had with this book is:
1. I would have liked to see the siblings reunited or something similar
2. What happened to the shelter? How is everyone doing from the fallout?
3. The repercussions of the President i felt were too soft.
4. What ever happened to her parents... could her siblings fix it or no? (if you read the boo you know what im saying... )
(I know at the end where they were Nic and Jason but there should have been more for me anyways.)

That's pretty much it. I would have liked more to the ending basically. but overall great book!

Happy Reading :)

(I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways).

(This review may contain spoilers).

I found this book to be a really quick, easy read. I really liked the characters and although the book wasn't as long as some of the ones I've read, I thought it was about the right length.

The idea behind the book was a really interesting one - and I felt that the reactions other characters had to Nicolette's blood were quite realistic. I could actually see what happened in the book happening in reality, since unfortunately, there will always be people wanting to exploit what they see as the latest commodity - even when it's a living person.

I could empathise with Nicolette pretty easily. I'm glad that there was an explanation given for why Jason was a doctor at such a young age - that did put me off a bit at first when he thought of himself as being only twenty.

I did notice a few errors in the book. Nothing major, but there were some. And it was a bit confusing for their to be three first person perspectives. With the POV characters changing, I would have preferred it to be in third person. It's difficult to switch between different 'I' viewpoints.

I liked the use of Christianity in this book, especially given that I'm a Christian myself. It was good to see that there were people who cared about Nicolette, even after a lot of other people just wanted to use her.

I especially liked the ending of this book. In my opinion, it was the best ending it could have been and left me with quite a satisfied feeling. I really enjoyed reading this.

I really like this book cover. A single blood drop with the letter N which represents MC and heroine Nicolette Jennifer Talloway’s (Nic) blood type. Nicolette's blood type is unique to her only. In fact, her blood has a healing property to it. Just by transfusing Nicolette's blood into a person with cancer, HIV, Parkinson, a person’s symptoms and/or diagnosis goes away.

Nic first learns about the healing powers of her blood when her brother is placed in the hospital and needs a transfusion. This discovery sparks a slew of news reporters, the President of the United States, and government agents that turn Nic’s world upside down. For a shy girl diagnosed with social anxiety disorder all of this is too much too take in.

Type N is a fast paced suspense with multiple POVs and an unhurried romance. I love the scenes where Nic is on the run and the anticipation of escaping her captors. I also enjoyed reading the nervousness Nic displays around her love interest.

Although this book ends with you wanting more (around 87%) the remaining pages give you a glimpse into book 2, Taking Names which clears up some lingering questions. If you’re into quick reads with a hint of suspense and light romance this book is for you.

I'm trying really hard to look past the details in this book that are unrealistic. If I do that, then I can say I honestly really enjoyed this. It was short, fast paced, unique storyline, relatable characters, and overall an exciting story. But some of the unrealistic details just drove me nuts, to the point where I can't give this book a full 5 stars. From the very beginning of the book my stupid medical mind would not let me get past some of the flaws. I know I'm nitpicking but -- it does not take an hour to get a STAT blood type tested. I guess if they were doing a full screen along with it, it would take up to a half hour, but just a simple blood type to determine compatibility would only take 10 minutes in this kind of emergent situation. They wouldn't have had to "risk" giving the blood to the brother (50/50 chance of it working...) if they would've just crossmatched the blood. That would've only taken less than an hour. And later on, how did it only take a day to determine the curative protein could not be isolated? I can't imagine what kind of instrumentation one would have in their living room to determine that in that short amount of time. And there's more of these types of things, but you get the idea. Again, I'm just nitpicking. If I look past those types of details, the story really was very entertaining and interesting. Overall it was a good book!

Firstly id like to thank Michelle Onuorah for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review

I was drawn to this book because of the interesting and unique concept of having the cure for cancer and other diseases in an ordinary girls blood. The first couple of chapters were great and held promise but as the book progressed i found it harder to keep interested.

Don't get me wrong it was still an enjoyable fast paced book, i just didn't like where the author led Jason and Nicolette (the main characters). It felt a little too rushed and unbelievable that Jason knew an assassin who could get a hold of fake documents and weapons.

I know that a lot happened to her so she never really had a chance to mourn but i felt she only gave her family a fleeting thought except when she cried that one time. I also would have liked Jason and Nicolette's relationship talked about a little more but only because I'm a sucker for romance.

I did however love the ironic ness (is that even a word) that an ordinary girl whom is never "seen" becomes the most well known person ever and gets the attention of a sexy young doc.

Solid 3 1/2 stars especially after the way those first chapters really suck you in.

Wow. Just wow. I loved this book. Absolutely love this book. This first read book made me see a whole new side to the world. The part that will do anything to live and the sad thing is it wasn't that hard to believe that this could actually happen. That is why I enjoyed this book so much

Michelle N. Onuorah put you in a speeding jet that goes into a tailspin and crashing to earth. With the ultimate cure to all disease in the world, what’s the worst that could happen, right? Well, if your blood is the cure a lot could go wrong. You will never see the government the same again.

This novel truly is an example of human nature and the will to survive. The main characters have to fight everyone in the country to just have freedom to live a normal life. I will say this. This book gets straight to the point and never slows down. You will be hook from the first page, so be ready for the ride.

I adored to the characters and plot of this book. I respected the parts that go into the relationship with God and love the feeling of Michelle’s closeness to Him that is represented in the book. This book is unquestionably an excellent read for adolescent and adults.

I am not a fast reader. But I could not put this book down! Within 24 hours of picking it up I had 69% read and the book finished within 48 hours! If I had not had to work, I would have had it finished within 24 hours.

It grabs you from the beginning. So much of it seems like that is what would happen if a we found a person who actually had curative blood. There were two parts of the book that did not seem realistic to me: (BEGIN SPOILERS: When Jason's friend (I forget her name as I write this) taught them to fight- I thought they picked it up and were too good too quickly. And the bigger unrealistic thing to me was when Jason took Nicolette to Disneyland because she was stressed- if you are on the run from the government you wont take a side trip like that! END SPOILERS)

Regardless of what I mentioned above, I REALLY LOVED this book! It was just too short (150 pages) the good thing about being short like that is that there wasn't any space to drag. I look forward to the sequel once the author finishes it!!!!!

Type N - Review

I received a free .pdf copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Similarly to previous reviews I found the plot of the story to be fast-paced and developing quickly, but for me this was a downfall. The book would have benefited from having more description, more build up, more mystery - as the book was also very predictable. The quickening of the plot often lead to situations that were difficult for me to believe given the time frames and settings of this book. I generally do like the story line - I find it creative and original - I just feel the author has so much space to make this a more well written novel (it is only 162 pgs). Onuorah's biography indicates she is popular for screenplays and I think this book is stuck somewhere between an exciting screenplay and a potential for a novel. I did however enjoy this quick read - thanks for sharing :)

When it becomes evident that Nicolette Talloway has a unique blood type that can cure any diseases her life changes completely. She becomes the most sought-after human being in the world. Nicolette is no on the run in order to avoid becoming government property. The only question that remains is: Why and how does she have this blood type?

Michelle N. Onuorah’s Type N is a fast paced novel with a unique storyline and a great dual point of view. Type N is full of action, mystery, and scandal. For those of you who like a little romance, you will enjoy the relationship between Jason and Nicolette. And let’s not forget about the villain! But I will leave it at that because you will have to find out who the villain is. Type N is a gripping read with the perfect ending

I absolutely adored this book. The idea behind the novel is brilliantly clever, one persons blood being the cure for a multitude of life threatening diseases. Onuorah effectively explored one girls right and desire for freedom being denied by her own countries corrupt government. I found myself wondering what I would do if I was in Nic's position. To be denied the right to decide what happens to your own body and blood while being hunted by government agents is a very frightening prospect.

I highly recommend this novel and look forward to reading more work by Michelle N. Onuorah.

Note: This book was won on a giveaway featured on goodreads. All thoughts on the book are my own.

Actual rating: 3 3/4 stars.

The idea of this book was really interesting, a girl is found to have healing blood and has to fight to remain in control of her own life. There were mistakes that should have been picked up in editing, but I really enjoyed the story.

The main issue I have with this book is that is too short! It seemed like the story jumped from place to place and it felt rushed. If the story was expanded and more of the details were filled in, it would be a great book.

This was a good story, there were just too many plot holes for me to get really pulled into the book. Despite this I considered recommending it to younger, maybe middle school aged kids; but there was a gruesome fight scene where someone gets an eye poked out. It was a pretty nasty part to read and I was disappointed that one scene could change the potential audience of the book so much; and it wasn't necessary (I believed) that so many details be included.

Loved this book! It was unlike any other book I've ever read, which was good, because I get tired of authors recycling old story lines or ideas. I think that I could have kept reading it after it ended, because I was really curious about what would happen in the long-term, but I suppose that leaves it open for a sequel...? Maybe.
