Source One brings together Brian Nichols and Amber Clark at a time when both of them have suffered a loss. Brian is the CEO of a software company he founded called Source One and now a single father to Katie his six-year-old daughter after his wife's death.

Amber covered for her mother while she was fighting cancer and now has an arrest on her record so finding a new job after the charges were dropped was difficult. She met Michelle through a social service to help people like her and was hired as Brian's assistant.

Michelle had other motives, helped Amber find a second job with one of Brian's competitors, framed and kidnapped Amber when Amber saw Michelle and her new boss together in a parking lot.

Source One has a sweet romance, a mystery, deals with the loss of loved ones to cancer and comes together to make a great story.

Suitable for Mills & Boon

Very predictable story. Great for anyone who likes Mills & Boon type stories. Won't be rushing to buy anymore by this author.

First of all,I feel the need to explain myself:I chose this book because it was free and its title was unusual compared to the other free crap that you may find on Amazon. It was a very quick read:I finished it in one day.
At first,I was very intrigued and the story line seemed promising. However,I did not really get this book. The romance was practically non-existent between the two main characters Amber and Brian. The characterization was very poor to me;I had a hard time keeping track of the different characters (apart from Amber and Brian). I still don't know who the fuck are Nancy and Max. I could not figure out who the antagonists were, which should normally be a good thing for a book but in this book it was utterly confusing in a bad way (really kind of disrupting the flow of reading). Since the characters are not well-developed,you can't connect to them in any way. They are easily dismissed as just background characters when they were actually meant to be a greater part of the story.
The next annoying thing is that the chapters were extremely short and at times they were completely disconnected to one another. Also several months were compressed in a hundred-page book! The interval between the chapters varied from several weeks to several months. Those short chapters gave a teeny-tiny glimpses of what was happening from the POVs of several characters. Hence what should have been the main events of the book were undeveloped. The climax of this book was too mellowed to me.
I was very disappointed and this book is relegated to my "Waste of my precious time" shelf.

Completed – 38%

This book had so much wrong with it that it was just impossible for me to finish. While the story line sounded fantastic and had so much potential it was let down by the fact that it was just badly written.

There was no style to the writing, the story wasn’t told but dictated in a way that seemed like a four or five year old would tell a story about the kids at school. It lacked description to the point that even the way the characters looked was confusing.

Within three pages the name of the main character’s mother had been changed from one thing to another. This made me have to read these few pages more than once to be sure. There was also the issue of characters appearing out of nowhere for a paragraph and then disappearing. It made no sense.

The story jumped from one place to the next within a couple of paragraphs, it stopped me as a reader from connecting with the characters.

Points has to go for the editing, even though the style wasn’t great and made it difficult to edit there was little wrong with the editing and so that was probably why I managed to get to the 38% mark.

I really liked the first 35% of the book. The story with the mother was really sad and touching, but after that it was all too quick. There wasn't enough detail in the story. Sometime, authors might spend an entire page describing the colour of someone's eyes, but here we go through an entire week in a page.

I didn't feel like there was any chemistry between the two main characters. He treated her poorly while she was working for him, yet she still agrees to go out with him!! It wasn't a surprise with what went down between the two, but of course she forgave him. Who wouldn't forgive someone who didn't trust them and tells them to leave knowing that they were meant to be moving in with them and would now soon be homeless?! The ending was just bizarre and unbelievable and then it skips to 3 months later.

This just wasn't for me. It's a quick read and I'm sure others who read it will enjoy it more.

1.5 stars.

This story had potential, but in the end, it kind of missed the mark.

Things happened way too fast and most of the things felt like we were told instead of shown. Because of that, I felt no connection to the characters and no connection between them. We were just told they fell for each other.

There were a lot of things that, to me, made no sense and it was those details that distracted me from the main story. It’s attention to details that make or break a story. Others, I felt came out of nowhere and felt forced into the story (specifically the suspense).

Fast read, just not for me in the end.

First of all the whole idea of a child sacrificing herself for her mom is a great read. The premise of the book started out promising, a mystery of why Amber was in court and leaving her nursing career behind. The book goes downhill fast with the stilted dialogue of Amber Ambers mom Michelle Brian etc.. The connection with the main characters scenes were so small and they only started to have more scenes near midway through book. The book did have an interesting twist/plot . Sadly with the amount of jumping around from plot characters not fully developed and each chapter showing the characters being a month away from previous chapter left the book not getting a better star rating from me.

This was the fastest book I have ever read. I mean it moved so fast I can't even remember most of the peoples names. The author had a wonderful plot and had it was written differently then it all would had work out. Because of the book moving so fast the reader doesn't get a chance to fall in love with the characters. The situation with her mother happened so fast I was still confused when it happened and then I was like oh damn already. I'm giving the book 2.5 stars because of the plot I know if it was written better I would had loved it other than just feeling like it was a filler book (something to read in between books).

I enjoyed this read. It is not the top of my list and way easily put down, but still a good read. It had its predictable moments but it also had a major shock factor. I really enjoyed it though. I would have given it a higher rating but the fact that it was easily put down and that it was some what predictable held me back. I liked the characters, but would have enjoyed more depth. A good read but lacking the wow factor.

I could not finish this book because it was torture to read. The reason the main character was arrested seemed to be a huge secret and it got annoying not knowing about a quarter way through the book. I also could not deal with the writing style. It more or less was driving me insane. I made it about to the half way point and I had to stop the pain. I am not the type to walk away from a book but I just could not take it anymore.

The argument of this story was okay a lecture to spend the time. I did like more the middle of the story than the final part. I found myself wanting for more of what would come after the first turmoil in the story, but then the story started to miss the attachment because the argument needed to fully developed more. Moreover, the characters ending was so predictable. Their story could have been more enriched.

Good characters, sweet romance, and a little bit of action to keep things going. This would be a fun beach read. I dropped two stars just because the story wasn't as fleshed out as it could have been, and things moved a little too quickly. If the author added to the story and moved the romance along a little less quickly, this would be perfect.

This was the fastest book I've ever read, it was an ok book just need to last a lot longer then it did, I fell sorry for Amber when her mother died, I liked Brian how he opened his heart again after his wife's death, Brian and Amber seem really good together and ending is nice, the story just needed to be longer, not bad for a free book tho :)

I think things were very rushed! it was hard to root for people you barely got to know, and she goes from his employee to his girlfriend in just a few days??? and before you can blink she's watching his daughter whiles he's away on business..hmmm and for the record.. I knew Michelle could not be trusted from the start!

I wish the heroine didn't take the hero back so easily. This book had so much potential. One, it should've been longer so that things could've developed at a slower pace. Two, there shouldn't have been so many pointless, forgettable characters. It was a good book but it could've been so much better.

I thought it would be really good and yes it could have been a very good read had it not been a flashback journey feel to it. This had a great background but it needed to be developed more..I feel it needed to be explained I'm detail than in bullet points.

A very short novella! It was ok but it felt as if it was written in a hurry! The plot was good although it was created from the fifty shades idea! No extreme scenes! Short conversations straight to the point!

besides the fact that this book was mistakenly described as romantic suspense, it was not a bad book. forced romance, forced angst, forced animosity and forced "suspense" or none.

This book had a really good plot, but it just felt far too rushed. It would of worked much better as a full length novel, with the gaps filled in.
