Don’t get me wrong, I knew what I was getting into here but for the life of me I could not get over that this man INTRODUCED himself by saying he was ex-military, took her to a one bedroom cabin with all of his animal pelts and guns on display and she was like “yes my baby and I are safe here.” Still fun tho.

Joseph goes from avid loner to sharing his space with a random woman and her baby. The way he treats Trish is so cute and made me swoon so hard. He's not even the biological father of Rose but you'd never be able to tell. That man is gold!

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Joesph mets Trish when he's going to take his friend and neighbor Kobe Loved by the Mountain Man a deer hide. Trish is Hailey's sister and came to her doorstep after escaping her abusive boyfriend Ian. Trish has a baby in her arms but Joesph doesn't realize it at first, but he can tell that she is running from something or someone so Joesph approaches Trish with caution. Trish asks where Hailey her sister is and Joesph tells her he doesn't know he came to find Kobe. Joesph convinces Trish to come to his cabin after he calls Wild Taste Restaurant and Bar to find out that Kobe and Hailey went to the east coast. Trish fixes a bottle for baby Rose, then goes to change her diaper while it heats up. Trish feed baby Rose and Joesph offers his home to her to keep her safe. Joesph makes them supper and when baby Rose is asleep she comes to eat with him. Trish tells Joesph that she'll pay him back but he refuses her offer. The next day baby Rose wakes up early hungry, Trish apologies to Joesph but he tells her he's an early riser. Joesph needs to head into town to grab a few supplies so he asks Trish if she needs anything, he already knows she needs diapers and formula. Trish doesn't tell Joesph that she needs anything and when he leaves he tells her to stick close to the cabin if she walks around and to be careful of bears. Joseph heads to the store in Wild, and picks up several things for baby Rose, including a new travel crib until he can make her one. While Joesph is gone Trish wonders around staying close to the cabin. Trish notices a vegetable garden and picks a tomato for lunch. After lunch baby Rose falls asleep so Trish looks around the cabin notices picture Joesph has hanging on his walls. When Joesph returns Trish rushes out to help him, she notices all the baby things he bought. Trish's heart warms at Joesph's thoughtfulness, a complete stranger, not even baby Rose's father looked out for her as much as this man is. Trish tells Joesph that he didn't have to do all of this and he tells her she's his to look after. Joesph gives Trish a clip he picked up for her hair, then he asks her if he can put it in. Joesph gently pulls her hair back to place the clip in her hair. When he is done he tenderly kisses Trish on her neck, then he notices the bruises on her neck. Joesph asks Trish who did this to her. Joesph asks her if it's why she ran and she tells him yes. Trish tells Joesph about the abuse she suffered under her boyfriend's hands and how she got her and baby Rose away. Joseph promises Trish he will never land a hand on her and tells her she and baby Rose are safe with him. Joseph needs to head into town the next day to go to an MC meeting, when the business is done the Prez asks if there's anything new. Joesph tells everyone about Trish and her baby and that they are under his protection, and now she has the club's protection as well. While Joesph is away Trish gets busy cleaning up the cabin, she knows it hasn't had a woman's touch or a good cleaning. Soon Trish hears a car pulling into the drive way when she looks out she sees a big caddy and a lady stepping out. Danni Wild Ride comes to give Trish some of her baby things. Trish and Danni talk for a while promising to met up later. When Joesph comes home he sees that Trish cleaned up and then she tells him about her day. While Trish is putting away the dishes Joesph sees the bruises on her thighs and he asks her if there's anyplace else he did this to her. Trish tells him she'll show him and then slips off her shirt. Joesph notices all of her bruises are under her clothes so he knows how to hide them. Joesph asks her if he can touch her and then reminds her she'll never hurt like this again. When Trish gets ready for bed, she asks Joesph to stay in bed with her instead of the couch where he's been sleeping. Joesph begins to kiss Trish then tells her he's going to show her how she should be treated. Joesph pleasures Trish, but when she tries to pleasure him he tells her that tonight is about her. The next morning baby Rose wakes early and Trish apologies but Joesph tells her she doesn't need to apology. Joesph heads out to check his traps he hasn't done that in a while while Trish takes care of baby Rose. A few hours later, Joesph is headed back to the cabin when he catches sight of a car, he puts a call into his Prez and then heads back to the cabin. The door is ajar so he enters without being heard. Joesph can hear Trish pleading with Ian to give baby Rose back to her. When Joesph enters the bedroom Ian doesn't see him so notions for Trish to be quiet. When Joseph signals Trish they both react at the same time, she grabs baby Rose while he takes down Ian. Joseph tells Trish to get out of the cabin while he kicks Ian. Soon Joesph hears Trish asking him to stop and he notices how bloody Ian is. Joesph tells Ian he's not worth going to jail for, then picks him up and takes him outside where he finds his MC brother's waiting. They escort him out of town, Joesph asks Trish if she's alright, and she tells him she is. Joseph tells Trish she can stay only if she wants to, but he tells her he loves her. Trish calms baby Rose down then offers the MC brothers who came to help breakfast. A little while later after everyone leaves Trish talks to Joesph about a refuge for woman who have no place to go. Joesph tells Trish that the club's got some land up in the mountain he's going to talk to them. Trish tells him she loves him and Joesph tells her he loves her. Soon Trish's phone rings and it's her sister so they plan to get caught up after Hailey arrives home. Joseph pulls Trish into his lap, they begin kissing then he pleasures her and they make love. One year later, Trish is pregnant with Joesph and her baby. They are opening a refuge on the side of the mountain where the location isn't known.The Wild Rider's MC help to fund the project and will have men standing guard. The location is nondisclosed, which is why they have the press conference at the Wild Riders HQ. In the pamphlets and social ads, Trish give the same message. Go to the Hope train station and call the number she give out. They have volunteers on the mountain 24/7 ready to give a lift when a call comes in. Women and their children can stay as long as they need. While the press conference is going on Trish's water breaks and Joesph notices right away. They head to the hospital but don't make it, Joesph delivers his daughter, along the way. Joseph saved Trish when she was lost, now she's giving him the greatest gift she can give a family.

Who wrote this?

I had such high hopes for this story. Ex-military man finds abused woman and her baby girl out in the wilderness sitting on the porch of his friend's house. Great storyline right? But the story felt like it was written by a novice. Character building was weak, the angst of the surprise visitor also was weak, and overall quality of writing was poor. Was the ex an ex husband? Ex boyfriend only? What was it about Tish that set her apart that Joseph found irresistible? This is a novela with no cliffhanger and ends with the beginning of a happy ever after. 🧐

This is book three of the Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider’s MC series and the main characters are Joseph, a military veteran who has seen the worse of what mankind can do to each other, and lives in the mountain alone and was on his way to visit a friend, when he comes across Trish sitting on his friend’s cabin steps, holding her baby Rose. She has run away from an abusive relationship with very little and hoped to find her sister Hailey home, with her husband Kobe, who is part of the Wild Rider’s MC like Jospeh, known as Lone Star by the MC. Joseph recognises that she is scared and stays in his truck to start, until she becomes comfortable with the fact he knows her sister and her husband and isn’t likely to hurt her. Neither of them can get a hold of the couple, so he suggests they come back to his cabin to warm up and stay until she can get hold of her sister, and tells her he will sleep in his truck if she isn’t comfortable! Joseph is instantly attracted to this woman and wants to do all he can to make her comfortable and care for her and the baby. He notices she is running low on supplies and goes out to get her everything he thinks she will need, only to find the gossip queen of the next town is his server!

Trish is overcome with how kind he has been to her and her daughter. Rose is shocked with Joseph’s deep voice and it is a great tool to stop her crying, as she also grabs a hold of his beard, clearly finding it fascinating. Trish starts to relax around Joseph and get used to exploring the quiet of the mountains. Joseph goes to a MC meeting and raises the fact he has a woman and a baby he is protecting in his cabin and the club members and their partners soon come to help support Trish and Rose, with one wife bringing a load of baby stuff to her, which surprises her. Another visitor is not quite as welcome when they turn up unexpectedly, when Joseph is out! How he found his way there is unclear, but the reaction of Joseph and his call to his MC, soon has her all the support she needs to reject her abusive ex and accept the love of Joseph, her big and strong mountain man. A lovely tale and happy ending with a lonely mountain man who had given up on ever having love in his life, until he came across the much younger Trish and her baby, who were in need of help and a protector. I loved what they decided to do to help others like her. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Trish and baby Rose are on the run from an abusive boyfriend. She comes to her sister Hailey’s house but her and her husband are not home. Scared, hungry, and cold she’s not sure what to do until Joseph shows up.
Joseph is part of the Wild Riders MC, he’s ex military like all the members, he’s a loner but all that changes when he gets a look at Trish. He feels very protective about her. Especially when he learns she has a baby with her and she’s been hurt.
Trish is hesitant to trust James but doesn’t have a choice. She feels an attraction to him and thinks it’s been so long since a man was nice to her or touched her without hurting her.
James adapts quickly to having them in his home, he even goes shopping and gets baby toes and cute onesies for baby Rose.
He asks his MC brothers for help protecting her from her ex and tells them if she will have him she will be his old lady, he’s claiming her.
Their first kiss is sweet and the first time he gives her oral is hot. She has never experienced that and loves it.
When her ex somehow finds her James takes care of him. The MC brothers come and back him and Trish. They escort him off the mountain after James beats on him a bit.
They have their first time after everyone leaves. It’s sweet and sexy with I love yous.
Hailey and her husband return from their trip and she is relieved and excited that Trish has found a good man like James. Trish later talks to James about how it was finding her safe haven with him and the mountain. She has an idea to help other women like herself, James is happy to help, so is the MC and the other old ladies. Epilogue one year later, married , pregnant, and she makes her dream come true by opening a sanctuary for women and children in need of a safe place from an abusive situation. During the opening she goes into labor and James helps deliver their baby girl on the way to the hospital. Bonus downloadable epilogue years later with James surrounded by four daughters.

Sadie King is one of my very favorite insta-love, short story authors. This book, actually this whole series, is an excellent example of why that's true. Her characters are developed in amazing detail given the length of the overall story. (Others can take it's full length only for character development and not do half the job she does.) I could actually picture, not only Joseph, Trish and Rose, but also the mountain and serene setting in which the story took place. True talent! That's all I can say.

This series surrounds a group of ex-military men who all live in the mountains and ride in a MC, the Wild Riders. Who doesn't love MC books, and throw in military men...SOLD!! King truly hit the bullseye with this series (in my book - pun intended). If you haven't had a chance to read any of this series, you're really missing out. No NEED to start at the beginning, but this book does contain a few spoilers to the first couple if you don't. (They're not major...no need to fret.) Grab a book, kick back, and enjoy!

Joseph rescued Trish from her sister's doorstep when she had no where else to go after she escape from a bad situation. Her sister and husband were out of town for a few days. Joseph knew she was running from something and needed protection. He immediately developed feelings that he did not know he was able to feel. Finally, he convinced her to come home with him so her and her baby would be in out of the weather, and she would be able to feed the baby. She had never been treated so well by a man. She was having feelings she had never felt too. Strangely she felt safe and protected with this stranger. He may not talk much, but he was alert at all times thinking deeply for future actions. Always reassuring that she and the baby were not a bother, and he was enjoying having them by doing things for them. He was like a big teddy bear with them but threaten them, and he would revert to his military training so beware which allowed for moments of humor. A wonderful story of insta-love and a community working together supporting one another.

Joseph is an ex-military veteran who is part of the Wild Riders MC. The Wild Riders MC is made of ex-military members who help the community. Joseph’s street name is Lone Star because he is a loner. He wanted to share some deer meat with a neighbor, Hailey & Kobe. When he arrives at their cabin he finds a young mother with her baby. Hailey and Kobe are out of town and this woman needs his help. Trish is Hailey’s sister and is running from an abusive relationship. She is terrified but has no where else to go or any money. Joseph takes her and the baby in vowing to protect them both. When her abusive ex shows up Trish realizes she has the MC behind her. This is such a great story. I love all the MC members they are all such alpha protectors and will stop at nothing to protect what is theirs. Trish is a strong woman despite being terrified of her ex. I love the community support this small mountain town provides as well. Expect age gap romance, steam, loyalty, protectiveness, and support.

What I didn’t- the whole childbirth thing was waaaay too easy to be in the least realistic.
Verdict- This book is perfect for guilty pleasure reading relaxation.

Joseph is a hunky 36 year old ex-military man who is part of the Wild Rider MCs. When he comes upon Trish and her baby waiting on the doorstep of a friend's house, he immediately wants to protect her. He takes them back to his cabin. Trish is scared but also has nowhere to go. Both are drawn to each other, but Joseph knows he will need to take things slow. Will Trish accept his help and realize that some men really are good? Can Joseph keep her and her daughter safe? I loved this couple. Joseph was such a hunky, grumpy teddy bear. I loved how he took care of Trish and made her feel so loved and safe. Their chemistry sizzled. We get a great HEA after some drama. I love this whole series!.

Joseph is ex-military who moved to Wild Heart Mountain and joined the Wild Rider's MC. He had been out hunting and was going to drop some of the meat at his friend's house. When he arrives he sees a strange woman sitting on the porch. He soon learns that she is Trish, the sister of his friend's woman. It is clear that she and her baby were on the run. He is determined to his best to protect them and help them out.

Trish is on the run with her baby from her abusive boyfriend. When he choked her and put his hands on the baby, she knew that she had to leave. She traveled to Wild Heart Mountain to her sister's but her sister wasn't home. A stranger shows up and offers her a safe place to stay from the coming storm. She is afraid but has no choice but to go. Joseph shows her more caring than her boyfriend ever did.

I really enjoy this series ❤️ this story was a great add to the collection.

I LIVED the MMC. He was quiet and broody, however he was so sweet and protective. I loved how much care he showed so quickly to the FMC when she desperately needed help when her sister was out of town and had nowhere else to turn.

The growth of their story was sweet and I swear I just kept thinking, “dawwww!” the whole story 🥰. Especially when he goes to procure baby supplies, hit me right in the feels

If you like a quick read filled with sweetness and a protective MMC, this is your read.

The ONLY downside is I wish they were a little longer!.

Lone Star needs a new road name

Wild Runaway is the third book in the Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC series. I have loved Sadie King's books since I the first one I read and this book continues that streak. I feel in love with this couple and their story. When Lone Star shows up at Hailey and Kobe's cabin with a half a deer carcass he was not expecting to find a young woman with a baby sitting on the steps with Hailey and Kobe away for the weekend. As it turns out the young woman is Hailey's older sister Trish and the baby is her daughter Rose. Trish has bolted with Rose leaving behind her boyfriend and most of her and Rose's belongings. She was expecting to find Hailey and be able to stay with her and Kobe while she got herself back on her feet. But with them unexpectedly away her only choice is to accept a strangers kindness and there beings the story of Trish and Joseph, aka Lone Star.

Trish escaped in a hurry from her abusive ex with her four-month-old daughter to her sister Hailey and her husband's cabin, but no one was home. After a few hours, Joseph turns up to bring them meat and finds her there. Learning Hailey and Kobe are away for a few days, he brings Trish back to his cabin. He senses she is afraid and in need of a safe place. Joseph was very kind, and though completely out of his element in regards to a baby, he would get them whatever they need.

“You and the little one can stay as long as you need. Don’t worry about money or any kind of payback.”

I liked getting to learn about them/their pasts, and they fit together so well. I enjoy reading mountain man romances, but an MC mountain man romance? Yes please! I can't wait to read more in this series. 5 stars.

The third book of Sadie King's wonderful Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC series is a steamy age-gap instalove that's an absolute must read in Wild Runaway. Reclusive mountain man Joseph thinks he's just dropping off some food for a friend when he comes across Trish and her infant daughter, Rose. Suddenly the ex-military man is feeling protective towards a perfect yet beautiful stranger and her baby. Trish has reasons not to trust anybody, but she is in desperate straits when her sister is away and she has no place to go. When Joseph offers her a place of refuge, she really has no choice - but it doesn't take long to know that she has actually found her home. A sweet and super steamy, swoon-worthy and entertaining age-gap instalove you won't be able to put down.

Joseph was on his way to Kobe's cabin to drop off a half a deer, he did not find him there instead there was a gorgeous woman on his porch. She had a baby with her, he could tell she was scared and running from something. She is Hailey's sister, her and Kobe had gone away for a the weekend. Since they were unable to get ahold of her, he invited her to his cabin until they come back.

Joseph never thought he would want to be anything but single until he found Trish on Kobe's porch. It does not take long for Joseph to want both Trish and baby Rose to stay with him always. He will protect her from what ever comes after her, can he convince her to stay?.

Trish is in need of assistance for her and her baby and Joseph shows up to save the day, only he's not aware that's what he's doing. But one day with this lady and her sweet adorable baby and he'd move heaven and earth for her, and provide him with not only his protection but that of his MC as well. It's an instalove romance that's not too over the top and has the MC and Trish building a sanctuary at the end for other women in need. The abuse is mentioned in the book but it takes place off page and all we see are the lingering effects of it. There is a scene where the abuser gets what he delivers but it isn't graphic in nature.

Joseph loves living in his mountain cabin: hunting, solitude, and peace are instrumental in helping him cope with his emotional scarring as former military. Trish and baby, Rose, are on the run from an abusive relationship: she’s wary, exhausted, and looking for a safe place.

Sadie does a phenomenal job with insta love/ lust. The storyline is all too familiar in this day and age, her narrative and dialogue brings Joseph and Trish to life: his caring, protective, and sweet passion are enticing to her soul. Her love for her daughter and sweet nature gives him hope for a family. Lots of love in their hearts and future.

I seriously can’t get enough of Sadie’s books! Her mountain men series are some of my favorites and I always look forward to when she releases s new one.
Joseph stole my heart immediately. How he swooped right in to help Trish, and provide for her baby Rose, he had my heart melting. I felt for Trish, she was running scared from an abusive ex and just trying to care for her baby. I liked how even with her past, she opened up and trusted Joseph. And I loved how the club guys were ready to step in and provide safety for Trish.
This entire series is excellent! I can’t wait for Maggie and Arlo’s story next and I’m looking forward to seeing Barrel finding his love!

I loved Wild Runaway: An Age Gap Protector Romance Book 3 of Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC. Trish is escaping a terrifying situation. Joseph finds her on his buddies front porch. She’s looking for her sister. He offers refuge and help. They have a connection. Joseph will do anything to keep her safe. Danger is coming but Joseph will protect Trish with his life. I loved this storyline. A little drama and some steamy scenes. She’s a fighter and he’s a protector. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

This was a nice story but with a trigger in it, because it is about domestic violence. We follow Joseph and Trisha and her beautiful daughter. She survived the violence and you experience what she has endured, the fear, pain, sadness. But also find the strength to put this behind you and then she can with the help of Joseph and his brothers. He protects her and stands up for her. Slowly they develop feelings for each other and the steam and heat rises and for the first time in her life she gets the idea that she is not alone. This book is definitely recommended.

This is a short sweet novella I think many would love ❤️ although it’s a part of a series, this is the first one I’ve read and it can be read by itself no issues.

Such a sweet read of a woman running from her ab*sive ex with her daughter when she meets the MMC who is ex-military and swears to care for and hold her dearly along with her daughter as if she was his own. Some yummy spicy scenes for you where he worships her and the one scene of them doin’ the deed I think many would enjoy. Yup- there is 🤱🏻🤰🏻 involved 😊
