Be Warned: forced seduction, anal sex, double vaginal penetration (aliens have two penises)
I’m a mother of four. I started writing down my story ideas in high school, and never really stopped. Writing, I have to say, is my salvation. After I've gotten all the kids in bed and have cleaned up, I sit at my computer or sometimes a notebook with a pencil, and relax, write, and escape. I am a member romance writers of Australia, romance novel center. You can find me on Facebook. I love to hear from any of my readers, so feel free to send me an email
It was ok, had some serious editing issues though, and I found myself disliking the heroine near the end, with her demands to change things, and suddenly taking a "Queen" role and demanding change. Also disliked the how the storyline went with the native alien women - ofc they were going to be against the human women. No one thought to grab some men for them? No, they just have to watch these Earth females come in, get fawned all over, and be hailed as the saviour of the race, while being left in the background childless and single.
But it has a HEA, no cheating etc. 2.5 rounded up to 3 stars
I have to say I have never read a book like this before in my life. I love all this paranormal romance wether they be shifter, vampire, alien, etc. but this story had eliminates that I had only heard about. And I must say I really really liked this book yes the aliens are bright colors(my brain just muted the colors), yes they have a tale with a hand on the end(ok, sure they're aliens), and yes the aliens have two yes ladies two pen*s's but I loved this book. The story starts with the Intel Alien race about out of time they will be extinct soon because of the tampering their scientists did to try to protect them. The Intel now find themselves with very few females and all are infertile. The leaders have found three compatible races that will hopefully be able to reproduce and keep the Intel alive and thriving.
When it is decided that the humans will be the race they choose several Intel men are assigned to capture a few human woman to see if they can become pregnant including Danickra they're leader. Opal has had a crappy day she just found out her boyfriend was gay by walking in on him and another man, so to cheer her up her friend Heather and her go out. While relaxing on the beach Opal and Heather find themselves being abducted. Once on the ship Danickra can't take his eye's off of Opal she is nothing like their woman. When he is asked to pick one of the woman he know Opal is the only choice. Opal loves romance novels and her favorite are the alien books so when she see's Danickra Opal and Heather are sure that their friend has planned all of this to help Opal get over her ex.
Opal is very attracted to Danickra and it's pretty obvious Danickra is to her as well so Opal decides to throw caution to the wind and sleep with Danickra. Danickra knows it's wrong but he will never let Opal go and he will never let another man touch her so he lets her think this was all planned by her friend and while making love he performs the mating ritual. Now it is time to tell Opal the truth and Danickra hopes that she will decide to stay with him. Danickra soon finds out that he and Opal are heart mates something that hasn't happened in several hundred years and while he and Opal adjust to all of these changes it becomes obvious that not all of the Intel people are as happy about the human woman. And they will do whatever they need to stop more humans from coming to their home.
I really really liked this book I wish it was longer and I hope I don't have to wait long for the next book. I LOVED Danickra he was crazy possessive and claimed Opal right away nothing would stop him from taking her, and he was wiling to deal with the consequences as long as he had Opal, he was also willing to kill to protect her and he did. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series Danickra and Opal get their HEA in this book but the story of the earth woman and the Intel men isn't finished and I'm really excited to see not only more of Opal and Danickra's story but more of all of there unfolding stories. This book was really well written and a really fun read. As I said at the beginning this book had eliminates in it I have never read and I've read a lot but I still found it really interesting and I enjoyed it from beginning to end
I love a good alien/ human romance, unfortunately this isn't one. Opal has just caught her boyfriend cheating, so she's out getting very drunk with her BF Heather. When the barman cuts Opal off, Heather takes her to sit on the beach to sober up. It's from here they are abducted by the Inteli an alien race from a planet far far away. The Inteli's female population are sterile, they've been searching the universe for a compatible species to breed with. Human women are the ones chosen.
As both women are drunk they initially think that it's a practical joke by their friend Evan. Opal in particular is overwhelmed by the guy in front of her, whom she thinks is in fancy dress. He's her dream Alien.
This is a short story that's light on detail and plot, but heavy in the sex department. What I found totally unbelievable was how Opal thought that Danickra was her dream guy, he's over 7' tall bright yellow with purple eyes and his skin his armour plated, his fingers have long claws. But most yucky of all he has a long tail with a hand on the end of it! The Inteli come in all colours of the rainbow. This is the first book in the series, but I won't be reading anymore. The editing in this book is some of the worst I've ever come across, it was awful!

Can this human woman answer the call of destiny and be a savior of a warrior race? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Opal discovers the hard way that her boyfriend is in fact gay. She takes her best friend out with her to drown her sorrows, only to be abducted by colourful aliens, who she and Heather think are actors/models/escort guys set up by their gay friend Ethan. Heather is the first to discover that they are actually real aliens. Heather takes it quite badly to begin with but Opal seems to take it pretty much in stride and why not, apparently this has been a fantasy of hers for many years. Although Danickra is at first hesitant to be with Opal he is very attracted to her and soon finds himself bonding her to him. I could go on but I think it's time to get to the nitty gritty part of my review...what did I think of the story? Well, I enjoyed it, I'm a bit of a fan of this kind of story (grin) and this author. I look forward to the next book in the series. I love the big alpha males and I like the strong female leads. I like the creation of the technology and imaginative descriptions of the aliens and the world they live in and their history (at least what we are told of it). For the most part I enjoyed the hot sex scenes. What I had issues with? There are several sentences that needed going over. There were words left in that should have been removed. Sometimes the sentences did not quite make sense. There were repetitions about info/conversations. There is a couple of sex scenes that had me either wincing or going, NO, just, NO! And on the whole I thought the problems/issues were too conveniently solved. I don't think Opal, or we, knew enough about the Inteli's culture to make decisions on how things should change or to make demands about. I wanted to read more about how they really lived...laws etc of the culture. I feel as if I was making assumptions based on other books I have read and my own imagination. I hope in the next stories we will get more culture building. I love the idea of the alien world and the intelligence of the characters. I hope we don't have to wait long for the next installment.
Post note: Damn, now I have book hangover...I just want to read more of this story and I'm struggling with what to read next...sigh.
The idea is ok, the execution not so much. And I'm not speaking about the typing errors. I know this is a romance that focuses a lot on the sexual aspect of the relationship between the hero and heroine, but I expect better characterization, better world building and better logic. This should be rewritten because, even if the idea isn't original, if explored properly it would be worth to read the whole series. The way it is now, I'm not eager to read the next book. Many of the characters and the situations seem unrealistic. I won't give examples as not to give away spoilers, but trust me, they are plenty.
Savior is Hazel Gower's first book in her new series The Inteli. I absolutely loved it. Hazel Gower managed to take the classic "aliens kidnap human women for breeding" plot and give it a new and refreshing spin. I loved her description of her rainbow colored aliens, found the plot very interesting, and loved the heroine. Savior definitely sets up a whole new alien world that I can't to explore more in future books.
Book 1 brings us into a world with some interesting colorful Aliens with very interesting body part features, who are very Alpha male, highly over protective and think humans are fragile. Danickra is in for a rude awakening about human females when he meets and gets to know Opal. Loved Opal she didn't really have a problem letting her feelings about things known.Hoping to also find out how Heather is doing with her own alien. Can't wait to read more and find out more about these aliens.
I loved this outer space kidnap the earthlings book and the fact there different colors and different just makes it all the more fun the quick whit and embracing moments are great the confusion between languages laughable. reminds me of the movie earth girls are easy. which i loved growing up and i am totally hooked on hazel ever since love her writing and books cant ask for more
First let me say that I have read a few books by Hazel Gower and this has to be the best by far, to me. It was awesome.
I have read books regarding aliens and abductions with dying species. But this was different. I am definitely going to read this series and I hope that it follows in the right foot steps
Nothing brightens up your day like a few handsome aliens!
This book was a wonderful mix of comedy, sexy aliens, and kick butt heroines. It started out with a bang as we find Opal a mess after catching her boyfriend cheating on her and if that wasn’t bad enough being abducted by aliens really took the cake. My favorite part about this book is that our heroines are both feisty and even when put in such a crazy situation they don’t take things lying down.
Opal is bit more laid back than her friend Heather, but has no problem fighting bad guys right alongside her man. I enjoyed her humorous antics and thoughts, especially when she was with Heather these two are hilarious.
Heather was definitely one tough cookie and didn’t take crap from no one. I really admired her spunk even against such surmounting odds.
Danickra was an interesting man/alien. His race was really fun to get to know and I liked that they had their own unique traits and abilities.
I can’t wait to read more about these aliens and their world in future books!
I love love loved this book... it is about a dying race of aliens that found out that they are compatible to mate with humans so naturally they set about finding them some females to take and mate with... they come across Opal and her friend Heather they do the whole alien abduction thing and they end up on the ship... what the girls think has happened is they are being set up and this is all a big joke... did i mention that the aliens are all hunky and really awesome funky colors... gotta say they could prob me any day haha... i kinda don't want to give to much away because it will take away from the books but i will say this if you love hot aliens then this books is right up your street :)
Alien abduction - check Aliens needing humans to breed - check Aliens being all alpha, possessive and protective - check
Well, how wrong can you go with aliens that come in all the colors of the rainbow, who has an extra hand (tail) and not just one, but two cocks?!?! Hehehe... Kinda funny.
Unfortunately though, editing issues brought in down from a solid 3.5 stars to a 3 star sci-fi read. Enjoyed it, but won't be re-reading it.
Loved this. Won a copy and read it. The storyline was fantastic. The characters were wonderful to get to know. Only downside were a few spelling errors and perhaps grammar issues but otherwise I loved it.
Great premise, captivating first third of the book but after that everthing fell apart. It was random silliness after the other to the point that it wasn't even funny.
For the last few days all I've wanted to read is books like this, I really enjoyed this book was written really well and found i couldn't put it down. A great read.
This was an OK read for me. To be honest I didn't expect much from this to begin with. First and foremost I did like the idea and the world building of the story. It just happens that there are too many loop holes that the world building is lacking and maybe it was intentional on the author to keep the readers to read the next book.
The real problem for me in this book was the editing. I had a real problem grasping some sentences and had to reread them again to make sense. I didn't much like the heroine as well to be so damn bossy without even trying to learn the situation and be open minded to learn the culture she was going to be in and learn how others might feel with a human changing everything. She was just plain bossy to me which I kind of get that the author wants to portray her as some badass heroine.
Still, I suggest it to people who would like to read sci-fi romance and can ignore the typos.
Alien abduction stories, I love them, especially well executed stories. Savior is the story of how two friends enjoying a drunken night out get abducted by a race of multicoloured aliens who need women to repopulate their planet. How could I resist one of my favourite genres told with a my little pony multicoloured spin?!
Hazel Gower did so many things well with Savior that I am disappointed with my own score of 3 stars. The world building was good, the heroes good, characterisations good, the plot good, the pacing okay. Why the ordinary score? I found the heroine to be extremely selfish. Opal took to being abducted by a two penis yellow alien pretty well and I guess her self centredness is understandable given the circumstances, but it's something that put me off from the beginning. At the end when Opal selfishly demanded that an OBYGN and a nurse be abducted also, I lost all respect for her as a heroine. A pet peeve of mine is when a heroine is a bum or just plain ordinary on Earth but becomes some kind of accomplished super woman on leaving the stratosphere without the benefit of genuine and comprehensive character building by the author. Her best friend Heather was a hoot and I kinda wish she was the heroine instead.
Overall, this is a very promising series even if the heroine is annoying, the names are jarring (Opal, Danickra, Dannina, Salamander?! ffs!) and the antagonists are one dimensional. I would definitely read the next in this series in hope. Three stars.
chapter 1. it is possible to state that someone is drunk without having the character resort to preschool verbage.
It is unacceptable to forget when your characters baby talk was suppose to end and your actual writing start.
none of the plot threads were natural or logical; the progression was typical and unexciting
lots of random baddies but naive caveman aliens who were transparent except when a scapegoat was needed
oh and kings go on raiding parties because governing countries is too easy; they also allow unrelated old matriarch scientists to choose life mates because being a culture that respect elders isn't enough said elder must also be scientists with personality disorder
main character lacks a filter, is nonsensical, immature, all while on a power trip, prepare yourself for many soliloquy about heroines empowerment and how rediculous it is to assume that some one whose never been in space isn't prepared to 'handle herself' armed of course with mediocre karate skills and bitchiness. (I don't know of I'm offended for women's lib or karate professionals who don't get into rings with people who outweigh them by 100+ pounds)
*could be considered star wars fan fiction giant ewoks and lightsabres. *
world building: under developed editing: non existent bond forming: non existent heat: a match- sparks briefly and dies
For one, the relationship was poorly developed. The only thing the author focused on was the sex. I saw no real chemistry between the couple.
Secondly, the characters were flat. They started out okay, but, the longer the story became, the more it became evident that there wasn't much to their character depth. About 40% into the book, I wanted the female character to be shot.
As for the plot, well... not only was it boring, but it was bad. Had the execution been good, the plot could have worked out, but as it was--no, just no.
The world-building was poorly underdeveloped, and the ideas weren't thoroughly thought out.
The writing was okay for the most part, but it was hurried in many places.
I wasn't impressed with this book. This book only focuses on the erotica and ignores all other aspects of a story (plot, character, setting). I won't be reading book 2.
I enjoyed this book, even with it's heavy dose of insta-love. The end was left as a cliffhanger to the second book, which in 3 years has not been published. Hmmm
The story is good, but I felt no connection with the characters and situations just were not believable to me - even in a fictional world. There were a LOT of grammatical errors and parts of the story that jumped ideas mid paragraph. At times I felt like I was reading a bad translation into English and guessing at the meaning. But even with all that - the story was short enough to enjoy and had lots to keep me entertained.
This was a very enjoyable erotic quick read. The characters and circumstances were action packed and didn't linger overlong. Looking forward to book two for a chubby girl romance/dream come true. It took me a bit to get accustomed to the extra man goodies-b/c that's not really my thing but it was good. The story was great and had me laughing and smiling. Such a lovely story.
The story sounded really interesting and didnt start off too bad but somewhere around the middle of this book it just falls completely apart. There were quite a few grammar and editing mistakes. Opal gets really crazy, annoying and bitchy trying too hard to be a "strong independent" woman. Even Danickra (i couldn't stop callimg him danika) loses all his appeal. Its so sad because this book had so much potential.
Not horrible but I'm not waiting with bated breath for the next in the series. I know it's dumb but I had a problem with the color (skin, hair & eye) combos. Plus there were a decent number of editing errors.
