Cliche.

like nung nauso ang dystopian genre- o mas popular sa theme ng caste, faction, or districts. nung nauso ang mga ganun- ang dami na ring naglipana na ganung story. nagkaiba lang sa plot pero yung takbo ng kwento- ganun pa rin. same-same. the same sa online e-book community like that wattpad. nang mauso ang teen fiction na may gangster2x na characters- yun na. naglipana ulit ang mga gangster. kakasawa. kaka-umay. gaya ng story na to. 13 young men na puro imposible sa totoong buhay- dahil puro gwapo,mayayaman at mahilig makipag basag-ulo- plus the cussing machine leader na wala yatang ibang linyang alama kundi," fuck!" 2. characters:
ok. so 13 sila na puro mga gwapo,anak-mayaman at de kotse. so,sige. pero-yung nga lang- dalawa lang ang nabibigyan ng point of view,di ba? yung red at top. yung iba-wala. dekorasyon. alalay. me hindi nga natin alam ang mga saloobin nila at pananaw sa kwento kung saan kasali sila. at yung tinawag nyang tatlong baliw. nakakatawa sila pero ang OA na rin katagalan. at yung audrey- grabe. sya na yata ang pinaka-OA dun sa lahat. at ang mataray nyang ugali... it sucks. isa rin sya sa mga dakilang decor sa story na ito. at- yung lead female named samantha. she's the epitome of boring perfection: maganda,matalino,pa-demure...hmm..ano pa? maybe yun lang. at lahat-naka base sa pov nya. so the reader understands the story through her views. at yung author- kailangan pa nyang gwan ng pov lahat para may linya sila. pshh. tengenerz lang. rating: 0.2

heto ang malupit. kahit ang libro nito-susmaryusep. may mga mukhang paa na EMOTICONS!
nung nakita ko ang emoticons- kulang na lang ihagis ko ang libro palayo. grabe. it's an
insult to literature. san ka ba makakakita ng libro na may nakakasakit sa mata na EMOTICONS? libro ba yun? my gosh. ang narinig ko- ginawa daw yun dahil request or demand ng readers nung author. naman mga dre. since ginawa nyo na ngang libro ang online story na ito- tanggalin nyo naman ang pambatang EMOTICONS >_< na yan. pano na lang pag may nakabasa ng libro at di mahilig o nagbabasa ng wattpad stories? yung walang account doon? anong mangyayari? tsk. ewan ko lang. at ginawa pang movie. well- bahala sila. basta ako- a true blooded reader- won't waste a hundred peso or more on such book.

This is the current state of the movie industry in the Philippines, guys. Talk Back and You’re Dead is a 2014 movie adaptation of the Wattpad fan fiction of the same title. It’s about a girl named Miracle Samantha Perez who falls in love with a handsome gangster named TOP. Sigh. How do I even begin to describe the agony that is this movie? This is the worst movie I’ve seen in 2014 but I was able to finish it because it was so bad it was funny.
A lot goes on in this movie. There are a lot of subplots, back stories, minor characters that turn out to be pivotal characters. I don’t have anything against having interweaving narratives in one story, but Talk Back and You’re Deadjust failed on so many levels because: 1) the twists and turns and even the premise itself are not realistic. Come on, a high school student who’s the leader of a gang? Arranged marriage in the Philippines in 2014?? A guy with the name of TOP who isn’t Big Bang’s T.O.P.??? 2) The plot twists aren’t established well, they just pop out of nowhere. Like the part where it is revealed that (SPOILER) Miracle had amnesia?? That part where (SPOILER) TOP apparently goes blind in the end?? What is this, Jane Eyre? 3) There are so many loose ends by the end and everything is so conveniently connected, which doesn’t happen at all in real life. It would’ve been better if most, if not all, of the loose ends are tied, considering that there will be a sequel, a.k.a. the death of Philippine society.
What I hated so much was how the story turned out to be a mere hodgepodge of Asian drama tropes: guys that are like Meteor Garden’s F4, two best friends falling in love with the same girl, main guy kidnapping protagonist to bring her to his house and have her dress up and pretend to be his girlfriend, main characters that are from the richest families in the country… I wouldn’t mind these if the movie had a fresh take on these tropes, or found a way to make the movie more unique and original rather than being a drab derivative of something else. It’s like the writer was so desperate to include every trope out there that she lost track of what she really wanted her story to be like. It’s incoherent at best, a tasteless pacham at worst.
I also found it hard to understand why Miracle would fall in love with TOP. He’s a selfish, misogynistic asshole that has nothing going for him except for his looks and his cool car. I get that he’s supposed to be a boy tsundere or whatever, but the fact that he keeps calling Miracle bitch for no reason at all, forcing her to do stuff against her will, and pulling her around and shoving her about (which is also an Asian drama trope, btw) just overshadows his supposed “kind heart”. I also have to point out that cringe-filled part of them calling each other ‘wifey’ and ‘hubby’, which I know is nothing but fanservice, my proposed title for the movie because all it does is that, tbh. Talk Back and You’re Dead has nothing but cardboard, one-dimensional characters who are all swag but no substance. James Reid (TOP) might have a pretty face but he still has a lot to prove.
I knew I shouldn’t have expected much since the movie is based on overhyped fan fiction, but even the fan fiction that I read when I was fifteen are far better than this. Philippine movie industry, go home. You’re drunk.

I'm not a fan of Wattpad stories, but I'm sort of a pop culture devotee. When Wattpad creations were becoming more popular and they started to attract readers and publishers, I was impressed. Not everyone can become writers, but this movement has inspired young people to believe that anyone can be creative.
This book was picked up by Star Cinema for a movie, and when I watched the trailer, I decided that it's about time I read a Wattpad story. Didn't finish it. After reading 5 pages, I decided to stop. So, my review might not even count as valid.
I give it an A- for being able to tap into the emotions and interests of its target market. Before writing this review, I read through ones with 4-5 stars, and it is safe to say that fans of this book now want to have a gang leader as a boyfriend. I don't condemn them--I wanted to be a wizard when I first read Harry Potter.
What I dislike about this book is the manner it was written. There were minimal descriptions and no transitions. The writer did not even set the mood for the first sequence. It was written in the POV of the main character, so you will read much about her thoughts. She's dense.
After reading 5 pages, I can say that it mirrors a sad reality in Philippine telanovelas. Soap operas in the Philippines are written by intelligent and talented script writers. However, since they are more concerned with ratings, they tend to give viewers what they want. They satisfy the emotions, and rarely challenge intellect.

As a teen who loves to read books, reading something like a regular girl being inlove with a bad boy is a cliche but even though it's like that, it never fails to make me feel thrilled. Well, I mean, you know? There is something about those stories who makes the story exciting and not dull. ♥
This is a story of a girl who fell inlove with a delinquent guy. Yes. He is a delinquent guy! He is a gang leader. Well, not just a leader. He's the hottest among the hottest gang leader! Oh-Em! I don't thing I can still continue this review! Why? Because I am speechless! I just love this book! As in S U P E R!! Alesana Marie made something all of us must read! I can't wait for the next book! I am too inlove with the story and not just the story but also with Top. Sorry Sammy! Haay. If I am just a silvertongue I will prolly read Top being inlove with me. I know that it's very selfish but I love Top to the moon and back! I shouldn't make this post any longer. I just recommend this book to you guys. A MUST READ!!! If I can just give 100 stars for this.. I will do it! But for now.. I'll give this 5 stars but I SUPER LOVE IT!

I am not really a fan of wattpad books/stories or whatevers. pero bibigyan ko ito ng chance. so everyone dont get mad ha, I am not a professional reviewer or whatsoever of some sort, i just have to write what my gut tells me.
cliche much? this reminds me of boys over flowers, meteor garden.. lol. anyway anyhow anywho this review is just my opinion so wag po tayo magagalit okay? its just a matter of preference.. saka ayun ihihinto ko ito dito im around 300+ in pages mejo saka na lang ulet kung sisipagin pa ako balikan tong kopya na nakuha ko which is around 800+ pages, binasa ko ito maybe because nacurious lang talaga ako kay pendleton. haha at gusto ko man tapusin pero naa--ahh!! next time perhaps??

panahon at pawis at dugo. kaya kudos sa author dahil nagkaroon sya ng chance na maipublish itong book na ito.
so ayun itong book na ito story is very much relatable lalo na sa mga high school teeny bopper girls and boys.. Hmmm..si Top? i pictured him as this ruggedly handsome chinito looking egotistic hearthrob guy na pagkakaguluhan ng mga high school girls tipong parang gu jun pyo at dao ming su lang talaga ang peg ahahaha... si samantha? isang tipikal na mayamang dalagita na ayun basta hahaha obviously syempre bida so dapat maganda. tama!!

i therefore conclude that i dont hate this book but i dont like it either.. so i just have to settle with 2 stars lets give it that para sa madameng effort ng author which is good, masipag sya at sana hindi itong 800 pages ang nakuha kong copy hahaha, before i started reading this it did gave me hope that what would i'll be reading will be much better than this but no. im sorry di ko lang talaga siya natripan pero okay sya. there is hope maybe next book??

Please don't read this if you like the book, this is my opinion only.
Again, I read this after my niece said she was going to watch the movie. Yes, someone made a movie out of this book.
I'm glad my niece didn't read this, I would gouge her eyes out if she did. Suffice to say I didn't like this. If I could give negative stars I would.
I rated this and even took the time to review it just to find out if I read the sameshitthing others here did. I read (albeit briefly) about a girl, a really pretty, popular, ballsy girl and a guy (supposedly in a "gang" or whatever) that says "bitch", "retard", "fuck" and "you wanna die?" a lot. Is this the same book everyone's read? If yes, then I don't freakin' get it!
There's a certain art in writing hot-but-mean characters that you still love 'em even though they are arrogant and annoying. But I couldn't find the charm in this TOP guy, his derogatory nicknames for Sam was unacceptable, no woman/girl should accept or take that kind of treatment. It's a very, very bad example to teens (I sound like an old lady). I just want to share that there's no way in hell this attitude is "okay". Just... ugh.

My first reaction about seeing this book on National Bookstore, just some old boring story about a girl and handsome guy who fall in love with one another. I didn't think of buying it but my curiosity sparks when I read the teaser at the back. The guy was a leader of a gangster,a cuss machine to the highest level and an over possessive boyfriend while the girl on the other hand was an ideal girl. :). What an interesting twist and this book didn't failed me. If you want to be entertained and to laugh till you drop this book is highly recommended.
I can't wait for the second part, one of the best story in wattpad. :))

I really enjoy reading the book because scenes are really exciting and thrilling. It's a different story that I've read before. I said different in a sense that the girl is from a very rich family and studying in a exclusive school and the boy in the book is also coming from a wealthy family, studying also in a exclusive school and a gang leader so meaning, for both of them, money is really not a necessity. They are so popular in their respective schools.
The reason why boy suddenly falls in love with the girl because of she's not same as any other girls is a cliche (Palaban, at siya lang ang babaeng nagawang sampalin at harapin siya knowing na he's too hot and handsome para saktan). I also think that there is a deep reason why boy loves girl and I assume that it will be revealed in the second half. Can't wait! (I feel these things because there is a scene that left me hanging.)
But on how they met? It's really funny and unforgettable. Thanks to the Crazy Trios, friends of girl who make me laugh out loud whenever I encounter them in the story. Totally crazies! Haha.
Overall, the book has a lot of breathtaking scenes. It is a page turner I must say. Questions in my mind have been answered in the end. There are also people involved that add to the complexity and entanglement of the characters' relationships. A lot of kilig moments rin. Imagine, a gang leader who suddenly change himself including his looks and vices into something good just for the girl. I love their chemistry! :)

The start was yuck. The middle part was good. No major turn of events, but entertaining. The end was sort of rushed. Lots of lines were too cheesy - well, what did I expect? - but the story was all right.

I should be happy that this is a Jaejoong-and-TOP inspired book right? right? But hell no.
[UNPOPULAR OPINION COMING] I had to skip a lot of parts and I definitely tried to digest whatever bad things I noticed because I had to understand its popularity, but I gave up in the end. (sometimes, joining the bandwagon is not worth it)
I felt nothing but frustration for the manner it was written and for the *eye roll* "plot".
The writing style is convincingly bad enough for me to dislike it. It is too informal. It has too many unnecessary punctuation marks, cussing, and emoticons. It has no transitions, so it's confusing at times. The fangirl feels, spazzes, and moments would have been good if toned down five notches.
I was not expecting too much for the plot, but only hoped for a decent one. Surprise. Surprise. This one has an unrealistic, illogical, and cheesy romantic plot. I pulled my hair lots of times because of stupidity of the recurring I'm-trying-to-be-a-heroine-but-I-constantly-need-saving-because-I-can't-fucking-take-care-of-my-shit drama. I'm a big fan of strong and independent women, so you can do the math on how shitty this was for me.
It's also bombarded with syntactical errors, and I don't even know how you guys managed to stomach this. *puking ensues*

very cliche. almost perfect girl fell in love with a gangster. the story and characters were too perfect to the point it was already unrealistic. still, i have to admit that i found myself falling in love with Top. Falling in love to the point im already looking forward for the book 2. This book is not so bad, but not perfect. :) Still worth my time, and I have to be honest, I can't put down the book bec. I really fell for Top. Lol! :) Excited for the book 2! :)

In the beginning, I liked the Sassy Girl/Meteor Garden but with a rich girl vibes.
