Millie Corwin had snuck into Dry Creek's café to leave gifts for the townspeople, not to rob them. But she'd been caught. And now that she was in the custody of one infuriatingly good-looking Samaritan, the entire town--including her handsome captor--had branded her a criminal.
Brad Parker was minding his own business when he noticed Millie sneaking into the café. She claimed she wasn't a robber, and he wasn't sure what to believe. Because how could a thief be so lovely to look at, and--Brad soon learned--lovely on the inside, too?
One thing was certain. Robber or not, this stranger seemed to be stealing his love-resistant heart. . .
Janet grew up in the wide open spaces of rural Montana and now lives in the urban spaces of Pasadena, California. She's used both of these locations in her books. Her Dry Creek, Montana series numbers over twenty novels now and her Pasadena books, The Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches, number four.
One of my favorite out of the whole series. Millie reminds me somewhat of myself. She willing to go around quietly giving and serving other without want the recognition...only it backfires when someone thinks she is stealing from the town! Love how the story develops and how she brings her characters to life in each of the dry creek novels. Makes me want to move there myself and meet all her characters! Even if they aren't real.
This would have been a cute story for Hallmark, but it would need tons of work. I didn't care for Brad, one minute he's ready to arrest the girl and the next he falls in love with her. I also didn't care for Millie, she seemed like there wasn't much up going on up in her head. I had liked the other Dry Creek books, but this one fell far short. I felt the whole story was a little ridiculous and not realistic at all.
This was a cute quick read. If you enjoy the cheesy hallmark style, then this book is it. Mille and Brad are a cute couple, both with their own issues, and finding each other through a mishap made it funny, and heartwarming. Lots of funny banter, surprisingly for a Love Inspired book. I had never read one of the Inspirational books from this line, and it was cute and didn’t disappoint.
A sweet, clean romance with plenty of heart and humor! I laughed a lot at the way the ranch hands interacted with Millie. It has a wonderful inspirational message of forgiveness and redemption.
I love this book and was so touch of the kindness they had in this town. Also for completing the dying person wish. But find your true love and happiness
Another great book by Janet Tronstad! I loved the character Millie Corwin. She had no idea why Forrest, the hit man from An Angel for Dry Creek, would pick her to convince the town of Dry Creek to trust in strangers again. How could she prove to them that Forrest was sorry for what he took from them—their trust—and how could she restore it to them? Brad Parker catches Millie sneaking into the café where she is going to leave Christmas stockings for everyone with one hundred dollars in each one. She figures that will prove to everyone once and for all that Forrest was sorry and they should trust strangers again. The one thing she doesn’t reckon on is Brad feeling lonely around Christmas time and catching her doing it. Can these two get a miracle from God and fall in love? How will Millie prove she isn’t trying to steal money, but giving it away? This book brings back all the characters from the previous Dry Creek books. Brad tries his best to put the town’s best foot forward so Millie will decide to stay. But it’s the church that tugs on her heartstrings. Church isn’t what she grew up thinking it was. I enjoyed this part of the story. Millie thought God didn’t care about her or the things that worried her. But she is beginning to see that He does care. No matter what you are going through, God is there. He is in control. We just need to trust Him. And like Millie, He can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. All it takes is a willing heart. Brad and Millie will draw you in from the time they meet until the end with their insecurities and questions. You won’t want to put this book down!

REVIEW: This was a very enjoyable Christmas read. Filled with a thief who wasn't a thief, a stranger looking for a friendly town, a Santa Claus from prison who has passed and wants forgiveness, and a group of ranch hands longing for the Christmas spirit, this Love-Inspired Christmas read has it all from hilarity to Christmas spirit. I loved the fact that both Millie and Brad are both somewhat shy and not quite sure what to do when it comes to romance with the opposite sex. The faith thread is wonderful as Millie discovers who God is and what it means to have faith and Brad develops a relationship with the pastor that not only leads him to faith but also helps him figure out how to court Millie. Quick, delightful, fun-filled read.
Sometimes what you need is just a light, little Christmas Romance. Lonely Millie Corwin travels from Seattle to the small town to Dry Creek to fulfill the dying wish of a friend. What she finds there is a church, a community, and a good looking cowboy, and some major challenges to the execution of her mission on her friend's behalf.
