'D𝐈A𝐌O𝐍D K𝐈S𝐒E𝐒' Is the final full length dark romance book within the (Jewelry Box) series by author Pepper Winters. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' Henri Mercer & Ilyana Sharma.

This kicks starts of where the doozy of a cliff hanger ended in the previous book..

This wrecked such havoc on my nerves, like a yo-yo my heart was put through the paces, the tears, the deaths, the horrific horrors these characters and the other jewels were put through, praying to the book gods that these two would make it out relatively unscathed, hoping and wishing that someone would miraculously rescue them, inhaling page by page.

The deaths of all the other jewels
The despicable things done to them
The horrors they endured
Kidnapped, rape, torture, hoping for death was their only escape.

And every little scene Q appeared in made my heart full to bursting..

Diamond Kisses by Pepper Winters

5/5 stars

Diamond Kisses is the fourth and final installment in The Jewelry Box series. And boy it did not disappoint. It is just as good as the previous three books and just as addictive.

It picks up right after Sapphire Scars. Ily is on top of the Diamond Kisses throne and all she wants to do is protect Henri and the rest of the jewels. The same goes for Henri. He gets beaten severely but he doesn't give up and gives every bit of his soul to Ily.

That scene where Victor confesses why he tried to sway Henri to his side was so damn powerful. It shows that Victor himself has a vulnerable side as well. It thought that was a great addition to his character and it explains a lot of why he ever even started Joyero.

But Victor isn't only vulnerable. He is cruel, hard and doesn't take no for an answer. He starves Henri, Ily and Peter. And forces each of them to submit to his and others whims.

I love how connected all the jewels are and how fiercely protective they are of each other.

I don't want to spoil too much of the story but I loved that halfway point in the book where everything changed and what catapulted the story in a whole new direction.
This book is such a rollercoaster of emotions. It's laced in pain but also in hope. And everything in between. It's a powerful story and I loved this entire series with all my heart.

I absolutely adore Henri and Ily. And they will always have a special place in my heart. But my Mercer heart, my Mercer heart beats the most for Q. My Lord that man has woven himself into my psyche and I am absolutely and madly in love with him. It's feels like he's real, and like he'll somehow be able to heal my own dark and broken heart. That man has such a powerful presence. And I adore how dark he still is. I know Henri is dark as well. And dark on a whole new level. But when you read the epilogues. Henri has found a place. And of course Q has such a meaningful place with Tess and Lino as well. But his darkness still shimmers. And it feels like it's woven with me. God I miss him. A part of me aches of another book with Q and Tess. I just need more of that man. He is so powerful. And everytime he pops up in other books my heart is beating erratically with joy. Q, I love you. I just needed to write it down. I know I sound like a lunatic. But well. Just needed to write it down. I'll stop ranting now!

5 huuuuuge stars for Henri, Ily and Peter! And for the rest of the  jewels and brave guards that stood up and made the right choice.

Love this story to pieces!

Do you want me to write a review? Do you want me to write something that makes justice to what I just finished reading? Do you want me to describe the level of Pain and Mindf*fuck my soul, body and mind just went through?
I should like to try.

When Pepper said that this was the darkest book she has written to date, smugly I thought I was prepared for it. I really thought I had been already exposed to darker books.
I was wrong
I was not prepared at all.

Diamond Kisses lived to its expectations and I now find myself in limbo. Here but not quite. Sane but physically exhausted. Happy but emotionally violated.

This book picked up exactly were Sapphire Scars left.
Christ, I'd done this to Ily

In this instalment the stakes are rather high. With how book 3 left us, the fate of the characters that we have come to love and cherish is hanging by a thread.
Only a miracle can save them but if there's one thing I have come to learn about them is that they will not give up.
“But not yet. Don’t give up…not yet.”

So what if everything they had planned went to shit? Although easier said than done, they do not give up. They do not give up the fight to freedom. Even if freedom seems like an unattainable dream and the odds seem painfully against them.

This book made me cry, it pushed me to my limits. This book tested my resolve to keep going. This book broke my soul. I found myself constantly taking breaks and just breathing to make sure I was still alive. I was and while I would rather not have suffered this much, I feel like any other way would have done a disservice to this story.
Ily, Henri and Peter's fate is unknown. After the stunt they pulled trying to outsmart Victor, a smart psychopath, you can't help but wonder what will be of them. Death seems like the easiest route. Will they finally meet their demise? Or is there a more nefarious punishment for them? Something that neither of them thought would come to fruition?

Ily and Henri's love is put to test in this instalment. Will their love be strong enough to survive the games Victor is about to put into action just to prove that Love is not as strong as they believe? You will have to read to find out.
Will they all come victorious by the time all is said and done? It's not that easy to tell.
"He was failing.
Falling.
Three…
Two—"

As the moment of reckoning rolled by, I was a mess. I willed myself to keep reading and endure the pain.
The amount of pain I was in is astonishing. I could not will myself to stop crying. I embraced the pain that came with the torture. The pain that came with the happiness. I wanted it to end but at the same time I didn't want to say goodbye to these wonderful characters that I felt like I have known my whole life.

I found myself under my covers at 3am wishing I didn't have to work so that I could keep reading and learn about their fate.

And by the time I finished it, the barrage of emotions that assaulted me was indescribably.

Pepper did one outstanding job in writing this book. She gave us a story that will stay with us for a long time. She did justice to these incredible characters. She did justice to all of the lives that have been lost throughout this story. She served justice to the monsters that starred in their nightmares.
I commend you Pepper. I thought Monsters in the dark could not be topped but you proved me wrong. I feel like the Jewelry box and Monsters in the Dark stand in the same footing and it's just so incredibly honoring that you could gift us this amazing story. These amazing characters.

Thank you so much for trusting me to read the earliest copy of this book. I am terribly honored to be bestowed this honor.

I cannot wait to read your future projects.

This final installment of the Jewel Box series, Diamond Kisses, was utterly heart-wrenching, yet it delivered the perfect conclusion to this unforgettable journey.

This book moved at a much quicker pace and was a lot different than the others in the series. Was it the conclusion I was expecting? Yes and no.

Thank you for the ARC, pepper winters!!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Pepper mothertrucking Winters.

This book was so freaking good. I'm both lost for words while wanting to say so many things.

First off I have to talk about Pepper Winters' writing. It's truly beautiful. It's lyrical and gets you into the headspace off each character so effortlessly. Every thought, every emotion, their happiness but more importantly their heartbreak, I went through it all.

Usually when I pick up a book, where it's been awhile since I read the previous book, I'm a little confused at first. It takes me a few chapters to remember everything. Not with this book, it might have been a while since I read the previous one but I was right up to speed because I've been thinking about this series non stop. I've been going through old scenes daily.

My heart was in my throat during that big confrontation. I think I might have stopped breathing while I read it. But my favorite thing about this book was probably that time between the cliffhanger from the last book and the big confrontation. I really wasn't sure how Pepper Winters was gonna pull it off, but of course I didn't need to worry cause she nailed it.

One of my favorite things about Pepper Winters books is that she has the big confrontation every story needs but that's not the end. With a lot of books there's like the confrontation then a few chapters and then the epilogue. Her books aren't like that, and it makes it feel like you get an extra book all for free.

I was really happy these characters got the ending they deserved even if I wasn't sure how it was gonna happen. I am though a little sad this series is over. It's been a clear favorite of mine this year. I'm off to start yet another Pepper Winters series cause I need more from her.

Writing reviews for subsequent books in a series is always so difficult for me. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I will keep this short, sweet, and to the point.

This book might be my favorite in the series. I loved the direction that this book took. Pepper threw me a curveball and sent this in a direction that I didn’t expect. I also felt like the ending wasn’t rushed or drawn out. I felt like it was perfect.

Pepper is one in a million! I love her books so much. She’s truly a master of her craft.

First, the Luna Duet ... now, it's the upcoming Jewelry Box series. Pepper Winters is on a massive roll with her creativity. Best of all, she's dipping her toe back into the Monsters in the Dark world with a side detour into Q's half-bro Henri. I was already anxious for the 1st book RUBY TEARS, but knowing there will be 4 books has me amped to the max. Be prepared for genre-defining dark romance that only Pepper can write, and a foray into sex slavery that will probably leave me floored. This is the 4th and supposedly final book in the series, and I'm already bummed in advance to know that by the time I receive this book, the series will be nearly over. Gird your loins, your heart, and your trigger sensitivities for this one!

I have read everything and loved all her stories, unfortunately for me this fell short and just dragged on and on for the sake of filling pages. It’s like the saying “ this meeting could of been an email “ I lost interest but preserved, just glad it ended eventually

Pepper Winters is a phenomenal author, her ability to capture my attention and emotions with her writing is unmatched. Diamond Kisses was the epic culmination of one of her most remarkable works, the epitome of mesmerizing storytelling.

Darkly compelling with raw, complex disturbing themes and some villainous characters, I was completely invested in the fates of the unfortunate Jewels and the dire circumstances inflicted upon them. The unique plot makes your heart not only ache with wrenching pain but also ultimately soar with a sense of relief and joyful fulfillment that only Pepper Winters can deliver so eloquently.
I love Henri, Ily, Peter and having Q in the story made me more of a Mercerchist than ever! After finishing this series I feel their absence and can never forget them or how their story made me experience a gamut of emotions along with them. I’m so utterly grateful to have had the opportunity to read this entire Jewelry Box Series!

Oh my god 😭 I can’t even explain the amount of emotions I went through while reading Diamond Kisses. This was such a fantastic, action packed, tear inducing conclusion to this series. I had no idea how all of this was going to end but it was everything I could’ve hoped for.

Pepper Winters will always be a top author of mine.

When a master becomes the slave.

Oh what a brutal journey this storyline was! It’s finally over. What an absolute dark and insane story this was, I’m still flabbergasted but overcome with such peace over how it all played out.
Well done, Pepper Winters.

"You want to know why I have more power than you?" He froze. "It's because I'm strong enough to love. Wholeheartedly and unconditionally.
That's what makes me special. That's why you will never win because love beats evil every time. It will always win. It always has. Love is undefeatable."

Ily and Henri must still suffer the brutality of this trapped nightmare.
But it’s almost over and the not everyone will leave the island of hell.

It’s definitely a journey of healing and trust. This last book was one big heart pounding adrenaline rush. Full of action and hope. I swear I don’t think I took a breath reading this entire book. Lol rooting for my favorite character so badly. The author did a phenomenal job of giving everyone the peace and happiness. They so well deserved. This series is a romance. And it does have an HEA with actually a couple of epilogues through the eyes of different characters. I can’t say much because this is the last book of a series, but it ended exactly how I hoped it would. Great and extremely dark series that I highly recommend.

A perfect conclusion to this storyline!

Overall this hasn’t been my favourite story from Pepper Winters. I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what felt “off” but I didn’t feel the connection between Henri and Ily like I had with Tess and Q. And I found the convenience of things not happening to them in Victor’s possession to not be believable.

Having said that, this book was my favourite of the four. I loved the direction the story took and was so happy for all of those that survived.
And seeing Q and Tess again is always a pleasure.
I look forward to reading whatever Pepper Winters writes next!

This series has been something, like I'm having a hard time finding the words. This series will tear you up inside. So many triggers but also so so much love. Henri is so close to becoming my favorite moster that Pepper writes but then she throws Q back in the story . Imagine a story with two Mercers ... loveee. Ily was an amazing person with a wonderful spirit. She was so strong in battle when others would crumble. Then we have Peter .... Peter is one of my favorites ever!!! Please read this series it is one of Peppers best !!!

Finishing this series, which concludes Henri and Ily’s very dark story, is so bittersweet. This was my favorite book in The Jewelry Box series, and I dare say that I may have fallen in love with Henri and Ily even more than with Q and Tess. Despite their immense suffering, Henri and Ily endured it together for the most part, which only made their bond more unbreakable. They are twin flames destined for each other.

“I won’t let you go, Ily. If you open your eyes, then we’ll exist in this world. But if you die… we’ll exist in another. Your choice, mon cœur.”

Reading the first three books felt like riding a roller coaster up its first steep incline—the higher the cart climbed, the more my stomach ached with everything Henri, Ily, and the Jewels had to endure. The anticipation of inevitable horrors was relentless at times.

"Diamond Kisses" felt like the rollercoaster's descent, an adrenaline rush as everything came to a head. It was intense, and I savored every moment. The plot twists, chaos, and countless surprises made me question if I could trust Pepper with my heart again. But in the end, Pepper delivered the most wonderful conclusion to this treacherous ride. After all the heartache it was absolutely beautiful.

From the moment Henri and Ily arrived at Joyero in book one, I had been waiting, hoping for Q to swoop in. I honestly never guessed how it would all unfold in the end, but the climax exceeded my expectations at just the right time. It was glorious. Q and Tess, Henri and Ily, Peter, and all the other Jewels…I couldn’t have imagined a better ending to this epic and very dark series.

Darkness in its finest glory

The tears flooded my eyes as I read this soul shattering story. Darkness seeped into my core while devouring this haunting tale, a world made of pain and drenched in blood an unforgettable journey.

The taste of my tears fed my hunger while I pushed through, I couldn’t put this book down until I got to the very end.

The harrowing end of Ily and Henri’s story is a path full of surprises and strong emotions. Thank you Pepper for delivering such a shattering experience. This series was very hard to read and yet I’m so grateful it was written. The amount of pain and hardship was so raw, so alive I choked on my own fear.

Q was the undisputed dark hero until Henri took the scene, I thought he was impossible to beat but Henri truly took my heart and soul prisoner and refused to let go. I’m in awe of Pepper’s talent and her ability to deliver such extraordinary stories. No matter how impossible the task to shed a new light on a known trope is, she’s always exceeding my expectations. She keeps delivering masterpieces after masterpieces.

Sorry my rumbling took most of my review but I dare you not to shout out your feels after reading this last instalment. You might have gleaned this last journey won’t be easy. You are right, brace for tears, pain and cold fear but don’t ever stop, keep going forward trust this author to bring you back into the light. After you reached that part you’ll rejoice in all the goodies awaiting at the end thank you Pepper for everything you gave us 🖤

The final book in this captivating series is here and get ready for a dark and wild ride! Will Henri Mercer And Ilyana Sharma find a way to get free from the island and be safe or will this final Diamond kiss game truly be the end of everything, including them? Woah! This begins where the shocking cliffhanger left us and doesn’t stop the suspense and action until the very end. I won’t say much more as to not spoil anything but get ready for a turbulent ride in the jewelry box. Maybe even a cameo from a certain someone. This is full of TW’s and is an extremely dark read. Told in first person and dual POV.

Diamond Kisses by Pepper Winter brings the soul crushing, adrenaline fuelled and sinful conclusion to an epic dark romance series. Henri and Ily will be dragged through physical and emotional hell in this book. Fighting the monster who caged and hurt them. Fighting their own demons of trauma and pain. Fighting for their happily ever after. The author would take your heart to the edge of the cliff and snatch it back just before the free fall.

This is the last book of Jewelry Box series. Henri Mercer's mask has been ripped off and now the evil master of the island knows his true intention. Victor shows every kind of mafia cruelty to break him and Ily. But the rebellion planned by the other jewels was a massive surprise that Victor couldn't counter. But it came with high price.

This is the least dark book of the series. It started with lots of gore and tragedy and violence and tragedy. But slowly the evil was beaten. But that didn't set Henri and Ily completely free. Henri thought he has lost ily and he unleashed his anger and pain on the monsters and Ily almost lost him again. His brother..The original Mercer antihero..played a significant role here. Q still owns my heart but Henri made a space for himself here. He has to come at terms with his animalistic needs. He loves Ily in an all consuming, obsessive and almost deranged way. Ily is such a strong and fierce woman whose softness and sweetness should not be mistaken as sweetness. Their connection is like this living breathing entity that you will feel at the very core of your soul. This story is all about redemption and happiness and hope..and you will leave with all the heartwarming feels.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Plot - 5/5
Characters - 5/5
Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️+

This is a series that gets better and better with every subsequent book. This is fucking DARK and Pepper isn’t afraid to make you scream at the pages and sob for the characters.

If you’re looking for a light, fluffy read - run far away. This is dark and gutting and angsty. Plans go awry. Shit hits the fan. Characters are tested in the worst possible way. I can’t believe it but Henri and Ily might actually have taken over Tess and Q as my favourite of all of Pepper’s characters and the character development of all the people in this novel needs to be studied and replicated.

Just when you think Pepper Winters can’t outdo herself she goes and does it.

The Jewelry Box Series was Absolutely Freaking Amazing!!

My heart broke to pieces during Diamond Kisses and I may have said a lot of choice words. I loved the ending - it was just perfect. Henri and Ily were perfect for each other, but at the same time they would cause each other so much pain.

This series will go down as my FAVORITE Series of 2024!

I would love to see more from Peter.

I can’t wait to see what Pepper Winters has for us next.

Pepper Winters is a master storyteller. Her words engage all of your senses and rip out your freaking soul.

Diamond Kisses is the final installment in the Jewelry Box series and completes the story of Ily, Henri and the other jewels. It was great to see Q and Tess as well.

This book will have you on the edge of your seat, reaching for Kleenex, downing a bottle of wine and hoping to the sweet heavens Pepper Winters does not crush your soul beyond repair. It is definitely a dark romance with horrible atrocities committed on all of the characters. It does build you back up but I couldn’t help but feel like the rig might be pulled out from under me at any given moment.

Diamond Kisses was an epic and satisfying conclusion to this amazing series. The Jewelry Box is a must read for any dark romance lover.

Diamond Kisses was the ending I needed! The author mastered this epic conclusion and sent me reeling. It had a Romeo and Juliet to it, full of twists and angst. This opus kept me riveted to the pages, anxious to see how this would all unfold. The outcome doesn't let the reader down, that's a fact. I loved the new found family trope, and the darkness that seeped through the chapters.

This book was the end of Henry and Ilys story. It was full of twists and turns. It definitely kept me on my toes reading it. The emotions were everywhere throughout this book. I was a sobbing mess at the end. I’m definitely going to miss these characters and I hope to see them again in future books by this author. This series is dark dark dark so please make sure to read those warnings! Highly recommend and probably top series of the year for me!

Pepper, once again, has created characters that I have grown very fond of and will miss. Ily & Hernri are two flawed but beautiful creatures that truly were written for each other.
