A desperate search…

Schoolteacher Gracie James has never seen more danger than her kindergarten grade classroom, but when she goes searching for her missing sister, she’s thrown into a world of sex, crime...and passion. Following a hot lead, she sneaks onto a stranger’s boat—and gets caught. Their one-sided conversation convinces her of two things. One: the guy is seriously sexy. Two: he knows something about her sister. Oh, yeah. And did she mention he’s sexy? And a sizzling attraction…

Jake Alexander, former cop, is staking out a yacht brimming with criminal activity, for an insurance company, when a woman, dressed to kill and totally irresistible, stumbles into his dangerous undercover op. If he hadn’t tackled her, she’d have tottered straight onto the questionable yacht in those ridiculous high heels. Then she’d be dead. Or worse. As much as he’d like to kick her off his boat, he can’t risk her going off on some hare-brained scheme—but he can’t keep her around to muck up his job. Oh, yeah. And did he mention she’s distracting as hell? Lead to dangerous desire…

Unfortunately, she has a keen mind of her own. And a body any man would die for. Jake’s attempt to keep Gracie safe quickly morphs into a reluctant alliance. And a whole lot more... But Gracie finds herself knee deep in more trouble than she bargained for, with secrets revealed and the criminals coming after her. Unless they find a way to trust each other, they’re finished. Oh, yeah. And did they mention they’re in love?

"I can’t get you out of my mind, Gracie. Ever since you stepped
onto my boat in that sexy, red dress you've been in my blood.

I'm a sucker for a steamy Romantic Suspense, and when I read the blurb to this book I was sold. Add in to that mix the gorgeous setting this book is set in, and you have a recipe for a fantastic story. Right? Well...almost.

Unfortunately, there were just a few things that kept this from being a 5 star read for me. Let me start with the things that I loved.

Jake. He was just what I like in my heroes; broody, slightly broken, and sexy as sin. As much as he tries to fight his attraction to Gracie, I loved reading him inevitably fall for her.

The suspense. I've seen some reviewers call it a bit anti-climactic. I don't agree. I had my suspicions, but the author managed to completely surprise me with where she took it. I did not see that ending coming at all.

So what about it didn't quite work for me? The heroine. I'll admit, I tend to be extremely picky when it comes to MC. Particularly so with the heroines. Romantic Suspense is a genre I read quite a bit, and my expectations have been set pretty high at this point. Unfortunately, Gracie really did not rise up to the challenge here.

I wanted to like her, but never found myself connecting with her. I didn't feel her actions matched her personality at all. She's supposed to be somewhat boring and innocent, yet at one point in the book she comes on to Jake and uses sex to get what she wants. This did not add up to me at all. She was all over the place. She's attracted to him, and stays with him yet at the same time thinks he might be a criminal?

Because of my disconnect to Gracie, I never really connected to Gracie and Jake as a couple. As much as I loved Jake, I did not love them together. Gracie was all over the place with her behavior that she drove me up the wall. So the progression of their relationship didn't seem natural to me. They have this instant attraction, yet she never fully trusts him. She has sex with him, but still thinks he's involved in criminal activity.

While the revelation in the end did catch me by surprise, I also felt that it wrapped up too quick. I would have liked to get just a little bit more.

As far as my rating:
Hero: 4.5 stars
Heroine: 2.5 stars
Plot: 4 stars
Steam: 3.5 stars

I will average my rating to a solid 3 stars. I think I would have loved this book had it not been my dislike of the heroine.

The one thing that really peaked my interest was Annie's sister. I would absolutely LOVE to get a book for her. Given the information that we get at the end of this book, I feel like that would be a book I would be ALL over.

I’m going to be honest here and yes, this is going to sound bad, but I never actually wanted to read Dangerous Desire. I just simply wanted to do a spotlight post for my blog. But somehow the publicist and I miscommunicated and I got the book to review. Thank God for the misunderstanding! I’ve seen Annie’s name around, but I’ve never read any of her books before. I can say, I’m looking forward to reading more of her books now.

So going in, I was pretty much like, “okay...let me just read this book and get it over with.” ~ Seriously, yeah, I was like that. But the book had me from the beginning with, “You okay there, lady?” I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen.

What would you do in order to find your missing sister? Gracie James will risk her life and her heart to do just that.

Gracie is a Kindergarten school teacher and is naive to the world around her. When her older sister, Regan, and only family member goes three weeks without being heard from, Gracie sets out on an eleven hundred mile journey to find out what is going on and make sure she is okay. When the only lead she has dries up, Gracie decides that she has to get on the Midas "party boat" herself and see if her sister is actually on board. Doing something of this nature is totally out of Gracie's comfort zone, but she will do anything to find her sister. As a way to calm her nerves and gain some additional courage, Gracie stumbles onto what she thinks is an old deserted boat, the Pretty Lady. Only the boat isn't deserted. Lurking in the dark is Jake Alexander.

For the past three weeks, Jake a former cop turned insurance investigator has been working the nightshift, unseen, taking pictures of who gets on and off the Midas and all of the activity on board; a majority of which is questionable.

Unsure if they can trust each other, Jake and Gracie form an alliance. Jake's gut is telling him that there is something big going on aboard the boat and somehow Gracie's sister is involved and a willing participant. Jake makes it his mission to make sure Gracie doesn't get on the boat. But Gracie is tired of everyone telling her what to do. She has come a long way and she has to make sure her sister is safe. Gracie's dogged desire to find the truth puts her life in jeopardy.

I won't say Dangerous Desire had me on the edge of my seat, but I will say it kept me intrigued as to what was actually going on. Things aren't always as they seem. Sometimes when someone does something bad, it's actually for a good reason. At least for me, Dangerous Desire kept me guessing up until the second to last chapter. The last chapter puts all the pieces together for you nicely.

Bottom line, Dangerous Desire is a test of love, faith, trust and determination. In the book, you will get a mix of people who let their inhibitions go wild, a hero with the need to protect who loses his heart in the process, and a heroine who starts out being a little weak but turns into a strong and determined woman.

I think, after marinating on the book for a few hours after reading, I'll go with three stars. I liked it. I did. I just have a few issues with it.

First, let me say that I loved Jake. He was a strong, protective, not perfect, broody alpha who had his issues but once he realized what a catch Gracie was, he stopped messing around and went for it. Sure, there were miscommunications. And of course they argued. But they also felt an immediate attraction to each and, in their own way, explored that while all heck was breaking loose around them. This was because, I think, even though there is a pretty big suspense plot going on, the author does an excellent job balancing that with the hot romance between Jake and Gracie.

There were a couple things left unexplained or that got under my skin. First, at one point there's a pic of Jake and another woman on his computer. That's never discussed again. It seemed like it was placed there to maybe cause some jealousy or uncertainty, then, nothing.

But that wasn't too big a deal. The big deal for me which keeps this a 3 star book (which is a GOOD rating. It means I like it and I'll read more by this author, so don't take 3 as anything bad!). What kept me from hitting a 3.5 or 4 was that Gracie, too many times, drove me up a freakin wall. One minute she was boring plain Gracie, as she referred to herself. The next she was trying to use her looks and sex to get her way. (And this pissed me for a myriad of reasons.) The next she was keeping things from Jake and unsure whether she could trust him even though he never really gave her any indication that he couldn't. For example, when she mused about whether he might be a criminal, I was all, "What? With everything he's done and said how could you possibly think that?" He wasn't acting shady nor did he try to hurt her, so yeah this sudden, inexplicable "maybe he's a criminal too" bothered me.

And I get it. Gracie was scared, unsure of herself and falling in love. So it'd be normal she acted a bit erratic here and there. But sometimes, the things she did and the danger she put herself in (and by extension Jake) ticked me off. Thankfully, the story and rest of the character development is done well so I was able to look over my issues with Gracie. And by the end, she even grew on me a little bit.

Lastly, I didn't see the twist at the end coming. I don't know how I feel about it. It was definitely a good thing-keeping the reader guessing and such. But still. All that work, effort and putting Gracie in a huge amount of danger, and then it's just all easily wrapped up in a few pages.

Loved the epilogue though. It made me grin madly. Great epilogues can make or break for me and this one absolutely made it!

★ ★ ★ ½

I thought this book had a really unique plotline. The beginning was super cute - Gracie, a school teacher, was looking for her missing sister when she snuck onto what she thought was an abandoned boat. In reality, this boat was occupied by Jack, an ex cop turned Private Investigator. After a very tense first meeting Gracie realizes that Jack may be able to help her find her sister.
I loved Jack's character, he was protective and had a strong presence without being too overbearing or dominant. I liked Gracie's character in the beginning - I thought she was brave hunting for her sister but about half way through, I lost my connection with her because of some choices that she made. I enjoyed the mystery and romance combination. However, I felt the mystery had a big build up and left me a little disappointed with how it ended. I had theories of what happen to Gracie's sister and the unveiling of the truth was a bit... anticlimactic.
Overall I did enjoy the book. I read through it in less than a day and would read more books by Annie Seaton as I see much potential.

My Review
4 Stars

I really enjoyed the setting in this story. I think I need to read more books set in Australia. I love the idea of this nice sweet school teacher doing whatever it takes to help her sister. This book was a suspenseful romance that kept my interest from the first page. Of course I think maybe Gracie was just a bit naïve but that just added to her charm. This is because while she was naïve and not a little bit impetuous, she wasn’t stupid. There were a couple instances where I wanted to smack some sense into her but really, isn’t that what makes a great story? The way you can connect with the characters and imagine them your friends or yourself in their place?

Ms. Seaton did a wonderful job of setting the stage for the plot in this novel. I was drawn in and read with bated breath. Was her sister alive? Was she in on it all? What exactly was going on? I just had to keep reading to try and figure out some of the answers. I like to try and figure stuff out before it happens so I can be all: “Ha! I was RIGHT!” *g* Well in this book, sometimes I got it right and sometimes not. That’s ok cause the fun is in the trying and I love being surprised when I am wrong. So the writing was great, kept my interest throughout. The characters were interesting and the mystery was tight. You were never really sure what was going on or who to trust.

So go pick this book up if you are in the mood for a fast paced mystery complete with a steamy hot romance. Can I just say how much I love the Entangled Ignite imprint? I love romance and all its many genres but Romantic Suspense has always been my favorite and my go to whenever I am undecided what to read or need to take my mind off things. I look forward to reading and reviewing many more Ignite books in the future.

Annie Seaton's latest release is a real treat. Romantic suspense at its most suspenseful...you just cannot put the bloody book down and get your washing done. It's that compulsive. You don't even want to go into the kitchen and get a cup of coffee for yourself.

Gracie, the kindergarten teacher who is looking for her missing sister reminds me of myself when I was a bit younger. She is so innocent, she'd go anywhere looking for her missing loved one and find herself in a nest of sharks within minutes. I loved her willingness to put herself on the line for those she loved. Jake, the medically retired cop, who accidentally falls for Gracie then spends the rest of the story trying to get her out of trouble.

The world of the ocean with it's sense of danger around the corner and the difficulty of finding a missing person - someone could be lost forever within seconds - gave this story a delicious edge and sense of danger. Jake and Gracie's love story was enjoyable too. How this not-too-experienced young woman captures the heart of this world weary cop makes for an enjoyable read.

The story was pretty hot in comparison to the Annie Seaton's usual work, as this is for a hotter line than those for which this author writes. The scenes were certainly up to the mark. But I have to declare here and now that I love this author's work and I read the book because of the author, not because of the fact that the line is smoking hot.

I loved the story and I loved the vividly descriptive language which brought the coast of Australia brilliantly, vividly alive for me.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Giving this one the full five stars.

Gracie is looking for her missing sister Regan when she stumbles upon Jake, a mysterious ex-cop in a surveillance mission for an insurance company. She's a naive kindergarten teacher, stubborn (somehow), tiny and beautiful. He's big, strong and mysterious. Gracie wants to do amateur detective work on the Midas boat, where her sister is supposed to work. Jake chooses to protect her and to keep her hands off her, but she is not as innnocent as she looks and there's too much attraction between them...
This is a romantic suspense book that I enjoyed a lot. I think that both sides of the plot (the romance and the the investigation) work together very well. Annie Seaton describes the relationship between Gracie and Jake with a lot of talent; we can see all through the novel how the physical and sentimental aspects are built with a very realistic progression. At the same time, all the criminal plot aspects related with the activities on the Midas boat are really mysterious and the suspense is kept until the end, with some final twists. The story is set in the Whitsundays, in a really hot Australian summer. I think this is portrayed very well too, and also helps for some really steamy scenes!
If you like a romantic suspense novel with strog-willed characters, criminal mysteries and a sexy (yet a little broken) hero, you will love Dangerous desire like I did. I'll keep reading books by Annie Seaton!

Review:

I have to say most suspense/mysteries I can guess what is going to happen in the end, but this one kept me guessing until the end.

Very good story about an "innocent" school teacher who after losing contact with her sister goes looking for her. Gracie is so in over her head when she tries to find information on her missing sister. I like that Gracie jumps into action, but she was a little crazy after finding drugs and almost being attacked by shady characters not to tell Jake everything she knows. Jake is a protector, and this former police officer jumps into that role in Gracie's life as soon as he finds her snooping on his boat. Both keep secrets from each other that could hurt each other and lead to some distrust on both of their parts.

Their intimate scenes are very sexy and you can feel their desire for each other. The story was at times nail biting like when Gracie is trapped on the yacht with the drugs or running from the bad guys on the island. The intrigue of the story kept me guessing what was going on with Gracie's sister, was she being held? was she part the the drug running?

A very good story, that kept me rapt until the very end!

In Dangerous Desire by Annie Seaton, Gracie's sister Regan has been uncharacteristically out of touch and Gracie is worried. After 3 weeks with no word, small town kindergarten teacher Gracie steps out of her element when she starts searching for Regan. Gracie narrows down where she thinks Regan might be, and as she does, she enters a world of danger and deception. Gracie is full of plans to find Regan...she is the only family Gracie has left. When Gracie sneaks onto a boat she thinks is empty to spy on the yatch her sister might be on, she does not expect to run into anyone!

Jake is shocked when the gorgeous woman sneaks onto his boat...and even more shocked by both his reaction to her and her plans to find her sister. A former police officer, Jake now works for insurance companies. Soon he could find his latest job becomes more than he expects, especially when Gracie's plans could cause interference. The people Gracie thinks Regan is with are a little scary, shady, and their actions questionable. There is much more going on that Gracie can imagine, and she's going to have to be very careful... Gracie is not even 100% sure she should trust Jake, but she has to trust someone, and Jake is determined to protect Gracie.

Jake and Gracie establish some sort of relationship, oh, and parts of it are hot! As they both seek to find answers, at the same time getting to know each other, danger is lurking closer. Jake and Gracie are really going to need to put their trust in each other to make any of their situation work and find Regan. Can they? Will Gracie get some answers? And then what?....

Dangerous Desire was a fast paced, suspenseful romance! Annie will keep you guessing until the end not only about the romance, but about the mystery!

Gracie is a courageous, but somewhat naive woman who I really wanted to shake at times! I felt like she jumped into things without thinking, with no thought to consequences. She has a heart of gold though and loves her sister, and apparently will do anything to find her! After her last 'relationship', Gracie strives to be independent...but she will still need someone on her side. Jake is a natural protector whose past I would have liked a bit more information about. In the here and now in Dangerous Desire though, Gracie is lucky to have found him and not someone else! Jake finds Gracie's actions frustrating at times, but does not force her to hold back, instead he finds ways to be there for her. Both Jake and Gracie are strong characters who really deserve happiness. I was intrigued with how their fledgling romance would play out and Annie did not disappoint!

With smooth writing that will entrance you, I'd recommend this to any romantic suspense reader!

Gracie James is a kindergarten teacher who has gone searching for her missing sister. Jake Alexander is a former cop who was forced into an early retirement due to an injury he received while on the job. Jake has been working an insurance claims case and has been staking out the luxury yacht Midas, taking pictures to document the happenings on the boat. Gracie's last email from her sister has lead her to the Midas, and she is determined to do whatever it takes to get on the boat and find her sister. Sparks fly between Jake & Gracie when Jake catches her on his boat where she has snuck on board to get a better view of the Midas. Jake's overprotective nature kicks in and he will go to any lengths to keep Gracie safe and help her find her sister, even though Gracie constantly puts herself in danger.

Gracie has spent her entire life being taken care. She has been coasting along, never challenging the events in her life unless she has been prompted to do so by outside forces. She knows that she needs to take control of her life and jumps into action when she realizes that her sister is missing.

"All my life I've been the quiet one, the coward. Finally, thinking Regan needed my help gave me an opportunity to prove myself...to me. To prove I was capable of looking after myself and not relying on others all the time."

Jake has been burned by love before and has a hard time trusting. His failed marriage and family history has him avoiding any and all emotional commitments, but he can't control his protective nature.

"All my life, I've had this need to protect. My mother threw it back in my face and too off ad I failed miserably in my marriage. Then I had to leave the police force. Since then I haven't had much of a chance to protect anyone. Until this little blonde bombshell drops on my boat and I decide she can't look after herself."

Gracie's recklessness and Jake's overprotective nature continue to challenge their relationship, and when events on the Midas come to a head, Gracie finds herself in danger and Jake is faced with the possibility of losing Gracie.

This book is filled with danger, suspense, mystery, and lots of sexual tension between Gracie and Jake. Ms. Seaton does a great job developing the story and bringing it to an exciting conclusion, mixing the right amount of danger and intrigue with romance. A great read that keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next.

What would you do when you all of a sudden haven’t heard from your sister and she is the only family you have? I would do exactly what Gracie James did, she packed up a bag and flew to the last known place that she knew of where her sister was. Gracie James character is the book is described as a simple, naïve, kindergarten teacher. I will give her the kindergarten teacher part but when she is thrown into a turn of events in search of her sister she is definitely not simple nor naïve, even though she still believes she is and may act like it in some instances. I will have to say there were parts I wanted to reach through the book and shake some sense into her. The author has managed to take a small town girl and give her the courage of a lion with this book, which for anyone that is close to their family would do anything for them. But you can’t have a great suspenseful romance story without a gorgeous man added to the story . She meets Jake Alexander by accident when she goes onto his boat while browsing for her sister; but the heat does not stop there. And manages to catch him taking photos of the same boat where she believes her sister is on, supposedly for insurance purposes.

Both of these main characters have had a hard time with trust factors and so it takes a lot for them to work together and figure out what is going on when Gracie sees a picture of her sister on the boat. Why would she stop calling or answering messages? And why is a man (Jake) taking pictures of the boat every night? When she can’t handle all the questions she decides to take matters into her own hands and goes directly to the source, getting a job on the boat. With all the heated moments and questions browsing through her mind she is definitely in for a ride of her life and so are you as a reader.

The author did a phenomenal job with the story line and most of the details but with all the adventure, suspense, danger, twists, turns and unanswered questions that Gracie and Jake are working throughout the book to sort everything out they have their hands full I would say especially with the sexual tension that is continuously building up between them. This book will keep you on your seat and will want to read all the way to the end I know I couldn’t put the book down, especially when I was at the end!!!! If you enjoy suspenseful romance books, give this one a try.

“You could be a pirate, Jake. All dark and dangerous.”

Innocent, vulnerable, beautiful Gracie trespasses on Jake’s boat and quickly finds herself in lust with Jake. She gets under Jake’s skin and despite his best intentions, his instinct to protect her incites her to put herself in danger on the luxury yacht Jake has under surveillance. Gracie is convinced her missing sister, Regan, is on board the ship, but why does the damaged but distractingly hunky ex-policeman seem determined to prevent her getting aboard the Midas? Can Gracie trust this ex-cop, or is he in league with the criminals Jake is watching? And where does her sister fit into the picture?

Kindergarten teacher Gracie is just learning to stand up for herself and no one, not even Jake, will prevent her finding her sister. And if Regan is now running with a criminal crowd, Gracie wants to rescue her only family from danger.

This romantic suspense story by Annie Seaton is set on the beautiful north Queensland coast. She captures the Whitsunday area in all its glory; heavy, tropical days and nights, white sandy beaches and water in many forms. Both Gracie and Jake have difficulty trusting others and the interplay between them sizzles as both are pushed beyond their limits as they test each other’s mettle. This is a smouldering hot read by this talented author. I can’t wait for her next book.

Gracie is the quintessential schoolmarm who is actually sexy… and Jake is the broken cop with a chip on his shoulder. Gracie is trying to find her wild sister who has disappeared. One night she descends on the docks to scout out her sister’s last location dressed … well… not like a schoolmarm. Jake is doing some investigating on his boat when she pops in trying to get away from some bad guys. Just so happens that they are both interested in the same bad guys.

Jake whisks her away to his swanky house and they proceed to argue and get in on for most of the book. The characters were likeable, but there were times I wanted to roll my eyes at both of them. Jake treated her nasty quite a few times, and Gracie kept being obliviously unaware of putting herself in insanely dangerous situations. The action was a little slow, but toward the middle to end of the book, it really picks up. When both characters get over themselves and realize their feelings, Gracie is put in a life or death situation, and Jake races to save her.

The attraction between both characters was interesting and the end had a nice twist. An okay romantic read for an evening or two.

Schoolteacher Gracie James has never been in danger before, but when she goes searching for her sister that supposedly disappeared she sure does find out that its not actually what it appears. When Gracie Meets Jake Alexander,a former cop who works for a insurance company,on his boat one night she knows that he can help find her sister. Gracie and Jake work together to try to find out what happens on the boat and to find her sister. Jake and Gracie have been attracted to each other from the beginning...and so that leads to some very steamy moments...

I Liked the book. It had the Romance, the attraction, action and the complications.well basically it had it all. Gracie and Jake where a cute couple, but Jake and Grace unfortunately had a little trouble about being together, but in the end it works out to the way its suppose to be.

I do recommend it to people who like the suspense romance.

Kindergarten teacher Gracie is certain something has happened to her sister. Out of her comfort zone she heads to the coast to start searching. Gracie finds herself caught up in something far more dangerous than she could have possibly imagined.
The only person she can trust is a cop who doesn't always tell her the truth. To complicate matters, she has an immediate attraction to him.
Can he help her find her sister before something goes terribly wrong?

Annie Seaton has done it again. Her characters jump off the page and you feel yourself rooting for Gracie in her quest to find her sister.
It shows that Annie knows the beautiful east coast of Australia very well and you can almost imagine yourself walking through the white sand with palms waving in the soft breeze.

Well done Annie. Hurry and finish the next book!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read that kept me interested the entire time. There was constant danger, lies, romance and suspense. No one told the whole truth throughout the book until the very end. The book made you curious and left you guessing about what exactly was going on.

Jake was a passionate, strong and determined hero. Gracie was stubborn and a little crazy heroine. Jake and Regan called her brave, but mostly she was just reckless. She was an easy character to like, but I did not love her.

I would have liked to have a little more turmoil between Jake & Regan and Gracie & Regan, but by the end of the book there was no more danger, Gracie decided what to do with her life, Jake seemed to lose some of the angst he carried around and the criminals were all put away.

A good end to a good book.

I feel like I know these characters as real people. Jake, the wounded hero, found Gracie hiding on his boat while he was taking surveillance photos of a larger boat for an insurance company. Gracie the naive kindergarten teacher, is on a quest to find her wild child sister on the same large boat. Jake agrees to help Gracie on her quest because he's got that "save the damsel in distress" syndrome. Through it all the two start having feelings for eachother, despite Jake having commitment issues. What neither of them know is that all is not as it appears to be.

I really liked this book! Annie Seaton knows how to write a good romantic suspense. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.

Another writer added to my list to read. Really enjoyed this book. You have a kindergarten teacher from the outback goes looking for her missing sister ending up in North Queensland. This quiet little mouse had to find the strength to survive what she has to do to find her sister. Enter the moody sexy Jake with trust issues, actually they both had that. An adventure tangled with danger, drugs, dodgy men, a rich man who runs a party boat. Jake wants to protect her, keep her out of harms way. Gracie will do anything to find her sister. She just wants to know if her sister was safe and nothing is what it seems. A wonderful read, did enjoy so much. Hot guy, adventure, sizzling attraction. A wonderful read. Now onto her other books starting with Holiday Affair start of three books

Loved this book!! Gracie and Jake have an instant chemistry that pulls you in. Gracie's desire to save her sister overcomes any worries for her personal safety and sends her directly in the path of former police officer Jake Alexander. Jake feels a burning desire to keep Gracie safe from harm, but that isn't all Jake desires. The heat from these two burn up the pages as they team up to look for Gracie's sister. Throw in a little mystery a dash of intrigue and mix well with a heaping dollop of romance and you have Dangerous Desire.

I received an eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I have enjoyed Gracie's schoolteacher personality a lot. She is searching for her sister Regan who she hasn't heard from for over three weeks. While on the search she stumbles upon Jake. The two realize that if they work together they can get answers to their unanswered questions. Not to mention that Jake can try to keep her safe. This story is fast paced, exciting and dangerous.

When Gracie (kindergarten teacher) searches for her missing sister, she’s thrown into a world of sex and crime syndicates. She sneaks onto hunky Jake's (ex cop) yacht to stake-out the Midas party boat and interrupts his insurance stake-out. He's worried she's going to blow his cover, or worse, get turned into fish food by the criminals he's watching. They decide to team up and a sizzling attraction ignites. A few frustrating copy editing oopes, but this is a fun mystery.

It’s wonderful to see Annie Seaton spreading her wings into yet another romance genre. She has written contemporary, steam punk, paranormal and now suspense. In a setting she obviously knows well this lady of many talents has crafted a story full of intrigue and innuendo guaranteed to keep you wondering.

Loved this book, loved the suspense of not knowing what was really happening. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Ms Seaton has done a great job of characterisation, setting a woman who comes across at first as quite naive against a toughened ex cop who's been round the block a few times. Set against the glorious Australian paradise, it's a great read.
Well done Ms Seaton.

Action & intrigue

Wow in this book we catch up with Grace's sister Reagan-who Gracie has been desperate to find. She hadn't heard from her in over 3 weeks, she meets Jake-a medically retired police officer, who's willing to help her find her sister, among tons of mystery.
