big bad john indeed wooza this book was hot absolutely luved the story line and Trudy and his character had chemistry sum charcters try to have but just don't couldn't put the book down just wish it would've of been longer we'll worth 5 stars ......

Big Bad John, if you are a fan of old country music like I am, then those words are said in your head with the deep timber of Jimmy Dean. R.G. Alexander took that title, and gave us a man that will have you in his clutches and longing for him to use his ropes on you!! I literally was held captive till the end.
When Trudy left Texas behind she didn’t think she would ever come back for a long period of time. But when John Brown sends her an email saying her brother needs her help after breaking his leg, she can’t resist. She doesn’t come alone though. She brings her best friend, Caroline, as her safety net. But she is completely unprepared for seeing Big Bad John again. Or for the feelings he awakens in her again.
John is darn tired of waiting on Trudy, so he sets his plan in action to get her. But when he hears her big news, he makes a deal with her that she would be his and submit to him completely for the two weeks she is home. After unintentionally finding out that Trudy craves some of the same things he does, he is determine to show her that he can bring her down to the levels she has always craved. Can he fit a life time of desires and wants into two small weeks??
You know when you open a book with R.G.’s name on the cover you are opening a dirty-licious bit of greatness, but I think she out did herself with Big Bad John. She single handedly wrote a character that is everything I would ask for if I was ordering a man of a menu. This scrumptious tall drink of water is just down right yummy!!! He could get me in his ropes any day!!! I hope y’all love this one as much as I have!!!!!

Check out the warning on this one! Another warning that totally encourages me to read the book! lol R.G. Alexander is back with sexy cowboys and a kinky female singer. The chemistry between John and Trudy packs quite a punch. There is some awesome kinky sex between them. I love that the relationship started years ago. I am a big fan of friends to lovers or rekindling lost love. John comes across as a big brooding hulk of a man, but when it comes to Trudy he is a big teddy bear-unless they are in bedroom mode. The sex scenes between them were creative and varied enough that I never got bored while reading. In fact the voyeurism of voyeurism scene was freaking hot! I really enjoyed this book. I didn't want to stop reading it once I started. I will warn you not to read this book while at work! I took a break while a file was loading and was quite disappointed when my work file opened. ;) I can't wait to see what Ms. Alexander brings us next!

Ok, first off this hits my Cowboys and small towns sweet spot, and quite frankly my hot and sexy story bullseye too;)
I love RG's books so this was another great one that I hadn't read until I noticed that she just published another book in this series, so I got them both and read them over the last few days. Warning, don't read these at work. When your face flushes as your trying to read on your lunch break and your co-workers are asking what's on your kindle...awkward!
Other than the smoking hot love scenes, to me one of the best things about RG's writing is her attention to human detail. Her characters always read as genuine real people that you can relate to and get inside when you're reading them. This book is no different. I was completely lost in Trudy's life:)
When you get to the sex the immersive quality of the writing can be a bit overwhelming in an amazing way. Wow...just wow!

Trudy Adams leaves Texas thinking she will never return but her brother had an accident and she is requested back to help out until he can recover. Little did she know that John has been waiting for her to return so that they could finish what they started when she was home for her fathers funeral.
If you like erotica, lite BDSM, a Big Sexy Dom, and sex scenes that will make you want to take a cold shower then this book is for you! I gave it five stars in my just want to read a hot & steamy book - it was perfect to me: alpha male, two people who have actual known each other for a long time and finally get together, and not a lot of drama. It is a short read and leads you into her next book that has to do with Jefferson, Trudy's brother, and Caroline, Trudy's best friend from California. Which by the way is up next for me to read and I can not wait!!! R.G. has landed herself on my must read erotica list!!!

I really, really did not like this book. There wasn't much of a plot, and the characters were completely flat. Like, run over by a steamroller flat. You know the black hole emoji? That's what this book is.
Oi. Ok, so, Trudy and John had chemistry and lots of feelings for each other, but Trudy ran away to California and started her life far from home. She did return at age 22, but left again. 10 or 11 years later, John calls her home for her brother. And oh look, they're both still single and the chemistry's still there, and Trudy's an experienced submissive now who knows herself (except, I really don't think she does, but I really don't care, either).
Trudy is now 30 or something, and John is 10 years older.
If these people could spend ten freaking years apart and never go to one another - I don't care what stupid reasoning or justification - it's obviously not important enough.
John to Trudy: "The question is, after all these years, are you still brave enough to say yes?” -- Still brave enough? STILL? When was she EVER? She always ended up running from him because she couldn't handle how intense he was, or they were, or whatever. She left each time and never contacted him, or he her.
It's so stupid.

Trudy left Texas and never planned to return to it for any length of time. However, when Big Bad John, who she had wanted since first laying eyes on him when she was a teen, called to say that her brother Jefferson had broken his leg and needed her to come home, she agreed. But she wasn't coming alone, instead bringing her best friend Caroline with her. During the time that Trudy had been gone, she had not only worked on her music, but had also learned a lot about what types of kink she enjoyed. John proposed that during the two weeks that Trudy agreed to stay in Texas, they enter a temporary negotiation and finally explore their attraction completely, but Big Bad John doesn't plan to ever let Trouble (Trudy) go again!
I really enjoyed this book. John and Trudy had a very hot relationship, exploring everything that turned them on. This wasn't horrible. But it wasn't that great.
There were some issues with editing... And most of the 'book' is actually previews for other books.
Plot... what plot?
Seriously. I kid you not. There was no main plot other than sex between John and Trudy.
Any subplots got pretty much dropped..
The sex was.... ehhh alright. I cannot imagine that a Longneck (beer bottle... though we don't actually know if it was a 'Longneck' or if it was just a regular bottle, I doubt it was a shortie) would be that satisfying sexually. Beer bottle necks are always long and skinny...
It was a quick read that kept me busy on the train.

Okay, but....
It seemed rushed at certain places; incomplete at others- a good premise, but personally, it fell a little short for me; Caroline's interview, Jefferson's reaction to Trudy finding their mother, the two-week clause, despite the overwhelming attraction between the two MC, even obnoxious Tommy- just not enough backstory to make it seem more solid....even the sex didn't seem to mesh with the revelation of Trudy and John's on line shared propensity for kink- it seemed to need more substance to be a more cohesive story for me. I'm hoping that book two has more bite...

This was a disappointment. The story was loosely written. The characters needed a lot more development. The sex scenes were not well done and were with little feeling.
It was VERY disappointing that the story wrapped up with only 63% read on my kindle. The rest of the book featured previews to other books. I felt ripped off as I expected more from the story and then it was done.

3 1/2-4 stars. Much more of an erotic romance. I feel it leans more towards the sexual side of the couple's relationship instead of the actual romance. It would definitely win a gold star in the "dirty talk" category. I did feel it as well written, with good characters, which I have come to expect from this author. It's one of those short stories I think I would have loved if it was longer, and more in depth.

I loved this story by R.G. Alexander and Big Bad John was swoon-worthy. John and Trudy had sizzling chemistry and the sex scenes were kinky and smokin' hot. I liked their history and that they finally had a second chance to be together. I also enjoyed Trudy and Caroline's close friendship and the sparks that flew between Caroline and Jefferson. This was a quick story that packed quite a punch.

Super sexy cowboy/BDSM style book
Holy hotness batman! This story was awesome. It had the right mix of actual storyline and kinky goodness to balance everything out. The characters were fantastic. Their interactions with each other and with the supporting characters were spot on. True love, even (or especially) if it's kinky, is worth waiting for.

I enjoyed this book a lot! Ms. Alexander has a talent for writing sexy as hell sex scenes with an underlying sweetness to them. The supporting characters were all interesting enough that I want to see what happens to them, but didn’t feel like sequel bait.

Big Bad John is like fireworks on the Fourth of July. I loved how he waited for Trudy to grow up and into what he needed. The only thing I didn't like about the novel was the voyeurism scene. Parts of that could have been changed and I would have been happy.
