A great nonfiction book following the life of lion cubs in the African savannah. Incredible pictures along with simple facts including help for beginner readers (sight words, picture icons).

I wish we had more of these, they are lovely for Maddie to read to us. Great photos.

I like that there is a cub on the cover.

I learned that cubs can bite their parents’ tails, and that’s another way for cubs to learn how to hunt.

The photographs are superb--as has come to be expected in any National Geographic publication--and they'll make beginning readers want to read. I do wish there had been just a little more text.
