একটা রূপকথার শহর ফুলনগরী। তাদের বসবাসকারী মানুষরা আকারে শসার সমান তাই ওদেরকে টুকুন বলা হয়। টুকুনদের এলাকাগুলোর নামও ইন্টারেস্টিং- ফুলের নামে এলাকা। আর এই টুকুনদের মধ্যেই আছে একজন টুকুন; বড্ড বোকা-সোকা! এলোমেলো ধরনের ছেলে যাকে সবাই আনাড়ি বলে ডাকে আর ওর নানা রকম আনাড়িপনা নিয়ে এই শিশুতোষ সিরিজ।

পুঁচকে রঙিন বইটা যদি বুড়োদের তেমন মনে না-ও ধরে, টুকুন পাঠকরা ঠিকই রঙিন টুকুনদের সাদরে গ্রহণ করবে ^_^

The first in a series of Russian picture-books setting out the adventures of Dunno (Незнайка in the original, meaning "don't know") to be published by Moscow-based Raduga Publishers - I am not entirely sure, but I think this entire multi-volume sequence may have been released as one volume initially, in 1954 - The Mites of Flower Town introduces the fairy-tale world that Nikolai Nosov would make the backdrop for his famous little hero's exploits. Tiny people who lived in a pretty little town on the banks of the Cucumber River, the Mites were divided into two kinds - the boy-Mites and the girl-Mites - who didn't always peacefully coexist. In this initial story, Dunno, so named because he knows, well... nothing, becomes convinced that a piece of the sun has broken off, and is heading for earth. His wild tale sets off a town-wide panic, until Doono - Dunno's opposite, who knows everything - sets everyone straight.

I own the first ten installments of this series, bought at a rummage sale a few months ago, and am curious to see how the story-arc develops. I can't say I was that impressed by this initial volume - it was just a little too self-consciously cutesy for my taste - but am withholding judgment on the whole, particularly as this may not originally have been written as a separate book (I wish I knew). The artwork is appealing, in a sweet, vintage kind of way, and I liked the decorated endpapers. All in all, an interesting beginning! - I'll have to see how I like subsequent titles, like Dunno Takes Music Lessons .

করাত দিয়ে মাশরুম কাটছে। ^_^ ওরা এতই ছোট যে ব্যাঙের ছাতাও করাত দিয়ে কাটতে হয়। লিলিপুট আকৃতির ওরা বৈজ্ঞানিকভাবেও উন্নত। পরকলা (লেন্স) বানিয়ে সূর্যকে কাছে এনে দেখতে পারে। এদের মাঝে একজন আবার মনে করে সূর্যের একটা দাঁত ভেঙ্গে বুঝি তার মাথায় গোত্তা মেরেছে! :D ঐ একজন তারছিড়ার নামই হচ্ছে "আনাড়ি"! ওকে নিয়েই বই, ওকে নিয়েই সিরিজ।

বরিস কালাউশিন এর আঁকা চমৎকার ছবিওয়ালা এই বইগুলো হার্ডকপি তে পড়তে পারলে ভাল হত, পিডিএফ স্ক্রল করে ছবিওয়ালা বই পড়ার মজাটা পুরোপুরি পাওয়া যায় না।

ছোটবেলায় বসন্তমেলায় যেতাম শুধু আনাড়ির বই কেনার উদ্দেশ্যে। একেকটা বই ছিল দশটাকা করে। আবারো পড়লাম, আবারো ভাল লাগল।
