Regina lost her husband four years ago. Now she lives a solitary life--by choice. But her preferences are tossed aside when an unseen force drops her into a remote jungle. There, a small group of handsome, athletic men are waiting to show her that the woman who takes on their tribe has no chance to remain lonely...or unsatisfied.
But Regina wants more than what she's offered. Niku takes her to bed for her first time in years, but is emotionally absent. Ax makes her writhe in pleasure, when he's not tempting her to punch him in the face. Brannon is a sweet-talking, dreamboat, but can she trust him not to break her heart? Tennyson, Benji and Sebastian all adore her, but is their connection with her more than just the wild times they share between the sheets? With Rayne overflowing with animosity, and Viktor making her want to run and hide, figuring out which one of these men might just be the next great love in her life, is going to be a challenge.

What a cool story! At first I was a little worried that this would be all erotica but it was a really good story that made you think about things. Regina has led a pretty quiet life, she has no family, her husband passed away four years ago and she had miscarried before that. She is a Pilates instructor a few days a week at the gym and she has no friends or boyfriend, she doesn't really have contact with anyone. She is leaving her home to go to the store and she drops her keys and all of the sudden she is in a rain forest. When she gets her bearings she finds she is the new Wikomsette for a group of men researching and she is the new wife and sex partner for them. The leader explains that she will stay two years and that she cannot get attached to any of them. She is really attracted to the leader Niku but after sex the first time he avoids her and sex with Brannon is fantastic but she has her heart set on Niku. The men are all good in their own way except Viktor who is rough and scares her so when she asks Brannon to speak to Niku on her behalf so she won't have to deal with him and that's where the story really gets interesting. This story dealt with things in the past and the future and it had romantic parts and even some funny parts, and really made you get away for a while. Reviewed on behalf of Once upon a Alpha
I was upset about this story for a couple of reasons:
1. this is not a menage 2. the ending is a HFN MF 3. no love between the characters except one male 4. rape 5. forced seduction (heroine had no choice)
The story is labelled popyamory. So I cannot fault the publisher if I was expecting a menage HEA.
For me polyamory means love even if the relationship can be open and allow other independant relationships. I did not find relationships with the characters but a woman who was just a sex slave. It happened that one male fell in love. She was also raped multiple times even if the scenes were not heavily discribed, it remained rape.
This said, it was very well written. The plot was logic and even though I did not like it, it was very well developped. The emotions were credible. The read was very easy for this long novel (first novel if we read the bio).
If you are a MF lover and if forced seduction is something you find sexy, then you will probably enjoy this book, even love it. Unfortunately, this book was not for me.
Regina gets through her life day by day. She is alone, her husband dies four years earlier, she has no family or friends and she likes it this way. She hasn’t gotten over the loss of her husband so each day is a struggle for her. One minute she is walking to her car, the next she is in this jungle. Thinking that possibly she passed out and hit her head that everything is just some delusion caused by head trauma. Quickly she learns that is so not the case when she meets a group of men speaking a language she doesn’t know who are all looking at her like she is a piece of prime rib when all they have had is ground round for years.
Regina quickly learns that these 8 men won’t allow her to be lonely, as they are her tribe. She was promised to them, she is the Wikomsette. She at first is unaware of what this means but finds out fast that she is in essence their wife. Each man is different in their own way, one though refuses to ever be with her and one creeps her out. The rest though, each have their own way to bringing her pleasure, each are so different, but there are three that she must watch out for because they will be the ones that will hurt her heart if they get too close. Slowly Regina begins to piece together what is going on, but until she can get answers from Niku, the leader of the group, then she will have to just find ways to get her answers. When something happens and Regina is separated from the group, she quickly finds out she had no idea the scope of what was going on. She is scared that she will never see her men again and almost is lost forever in this time. When she is found she is finally told what has been happening and some of the truths she learns are heart breaking to her. She doesn’t know what to do about her feelings for her men and for what she found out especially knowing that their time together is limited.
I will be completely honest, I had read The Wikomsette as a beta as a favor for a friend and the first time I read it I hated it. When this same friend asked me to review it I was like I hated it when I Beta read it I am pretty sure I am going to hate it now. Well I couldn’t have been more wrong. I liked it when I read it this time. It is different, it is fantasy and romance and a little erotic but it works. The connection that Regina feels towards her men is all as different as each man is. Some she has more feeling towards than others, and there is one who holds her heart. Knowing that their time is limited makes you ask yourself, what will happen, will she be ok when she returns, will she beg to join them, will they stay with her and keep her from the loneliness that was her life before coming the Wikomsette?
Ms. Lavere has made me want to explore more fantasy romance with her book. I actually would love a follow up to this, maybe from the men’s POV. So if you are on the fence about reading this book, go ahead jump on the reading side and give it an honest chance, or an honest second chance like I did. I think you may enjoy it.
This is one of those books where I have complete complete mixed emotions about it. After reading the blurb of this book several times to make sure I don’t give any spoilers away, I think there might be some small ones. If that is so, I am really sorry! So we have Regina, who travels somewhere, she doesn’t know where at first, and is met by a group of men. After getting jiggy with some of the men, and yes she does that right away, she finds out that she is the “wife” of 7 men. All of whom it is her job to “service” and they will take care of her during her time with them. Ok now let’s think about this, she is taken from her house to what could be a different planet, and is told she has to have sex with 7 different men. To me, that sounds like she is told if you don’t have sex with these men willing, you will still have to have sex with them. (I don’t agree with that.) And yes, there are scenes of rape that happen in this story. As you get further into the story, it starts to get more interesting as Regina starts helping them out with their jobs. Granted they still aren’t telling her where she is, or even what they are doing their jobs for, it was still fun to read about that stuff. There were some parts of the story that were extremely interesting, and there were some parts that felt like they were dragged on for longer than they needed to be. When it came to the ending of the book though, I felt like it was really rushed. I was hoping for more about what had “happened” but I felt like there wasn’t enough told about it. Overall, this was a good read!
Emerald Lavere has written an Erotic fantasy that weaves a young woman’s needs with those of others in a story that I found to be well written and full of surprises.
Regina’s journey in this story is a rollercoaster ride that pulled me in and took me along for the ride, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Her life in the beginning is a lonely and sad place for her, isolated from relationships and withdrawn emotionally due to the loss of her late husband and her miscarriage. Then something happens that changes everything, demanding Regina’s total involvement, emotionally and physically.
Emerald’s writing style pulled me in from the beginning by exposing Regina’s inner turmoil’s and how challenges along the way affected her and how she in turn affected others. Regina’s place in life in the beginning of the story is a far cry from where she ends up. It’s the journey she takes, emotionally and physically, that Emerald has written so well. Once I started reading her novel I couldn’t stop.
The Wikomsette is the first installment of “The Wikomsettte” Series by Emerald Lavere.
This book is the first I have read by Ms. Lavere. Regina is a woman who has lived a solitary life since her husband passed away four years ago, but when she’s unexceptionally dropped in a jungle with about eight handsome men ready to show her that no woman should be lonely.
Will she be able to find her next true love again?
I’ll admit I thought this story would be a ménage, but the further I read the story actually reminded me of a show called “The Bachelorette”. However; that being the case I still enjoyed the romance of each male that was presented. Ms. Lavere did a wonderful job portraying the different types of them in this tribe and how Regina felt about each one. Including the emotional toll and journey she was going.

California loneliness to jungle fever love. Regina finds herself transformed into the queen bee of eight hot chiseled intelligent men. Almost any woman would fantasize having multiple pleasurable partners, who adore her, bear gifts, and bring her to climactic events…but as the story unfolds, complications arise.
At first, Regina loves her new life, but as her feminine emotional nature magnifies between the different men. She finds herself falling deeper and deeper into an emotional trap of turmoil and distraught.
Her subconscious search for her ONE knight in shinning armor who will grant her unconditional love begins. Which one of the eight picture perfect bachelors will it be?
One steamy sex scene after the other, this novel will surely leave any female feeling hot, bothered, and falling off the edge of her seat… Wowzers!
Because of the description, I went into this book expecting basically a sex story about a woman and a bunch of guys. What I found instead was a beautifully written story of a woman recovering from loss, enjoying some sexual healing and finding love again - all in a completely unexpected context. The mystery of where she finds herself unravels delightfully, then the story takes an unexpected turn. By the end, I found the multiple lovers a clever encapsulation of the series of lovers a woman might have over the course of her life compressed into one intense experience. I highly recommend this book - which I read in one sitting, BTW, I was so engrossed.
Very well written novel about a woman's unexpected journey. The main character, Regina, is likeable and her adventures very interesting. I expected the book to be predominantly about sex, and while the is a lot of "inspiring" sexual scenes and content, the novel has a good story line with a lot of science, environmentalism, and even a little history! Her relationships with all the men in the story are different and her reactions in her unique situation are believable. I loved how even though there are a lot of characters, they are introduced in a way so there is no confusion and all are memorable.
I had problems with this book, I was confused through the first part of the book and a little upset. I hate that it is written in such a light context but forced sex is rape, no matter how it is written. I think this book has potential and can be really enjoyable and a totally different read if parts are told a little differently. The characters have a great foundation to start on and I feel they can be stronger. Overall, I give this book 3 stars just because it is written in a style that is pretty easy to read and I see the potential in the storyline.

Wikomsette is a fun read with enough different types of men to satisfy everyone's type. The intrigue as to where she is and what is really going on, will keep you reading. Emerald has crafted a wonderful fun story with lots of twists and a few fun surprises. This book has a dash of adventure, a hint of intrigue and a whole lot of lovin'. And if an Alpha male is your type, Ax is as hot as they come.
Please be aware that there is a section of kidnapping and rape.
What a Concept. This book had me fantasizing about being Regina. I was completey intrigued and can I just say that Emerald can write a great sexy scene. I enjoyed every part of the book and I am looking forward to reading the second soon.
