For the last two years, Lynn and Nathan have successfully kept their arrangement in tact. One HOT night, every three months, these two have perfected balancing their work, their personal life and their sexual needs.
Nathan is sex in a three-thousand-dollar suit. Ever since his wife left him, he has been struggling with raising his two teenage daughters; one he has failed and the other he is just trying to survive. He is utterly untouchable, powerful and smart, one of the most sought after political advisers in the nation.
Lynn is a part owner of Cooler, a successful web magazine that she prides her self in. She is respected in the world and would do nothing to change how they view her or her success. Divorced and alone, she longs for those nights when she can lose herself to Nathan, renewed and ready to face the world again.
When everything becomes a little too much, they seek each others company, agreeing to increase their frequency but still keep the no strings attached mentality. Why they never thought of how the comfort they feel in each others arms could cross over into their lives outside their bedroom. For two people who know each other so well intimately, it doesn't take much for their need to offer support and relief on things outside the bedroom. As much as this new connection scares them, they care too much to walk away...especially when they realize just how intertwined their lives really are.
Missing was such a treat, it had maturity, heat and a cuteness factor about it. For a novella, this definitely packs the depth of a full size, never once feeling rushed or lacking. It was thought out, giving us what we need to experience the story with the characters. I do wish it was a wee bit longer, possibly more of an epilogue to follow back up with them and see how they are all doing.
For a powerful man like Nathan to be so lost on how to be a father, it humbles him and makes him even more endearing. Lynn was a breath of fresh air, she is not needy or lost, she knows what she wants and doesn't apologize for anything; making her own way and owning everything about herself. The need that they each have for each other can be felt through every word, the interactions with the daughters were heartwarming and sweet. A very enjoyable fulfilling read, perfect for when you need something light but with substance.

Holy heck!!! This is one intense, steamy read!
Nathan and Lynn have had an arrangement for almost two years. Things are always hot and heavy between them and they both agree that they would really like to be able to indulge in one another more frequently. Soon they are seeing each other at a moment’s notice. Watching this couple move from such a restrictive relationship into one that allowed their personal fears and concerns to be revealed felt real and had me falling in love with both of them along the way.
Lynn was pure magic. She had a way about her that had everyone chilling and accepting her as the woman in Nathan’s life. I loved that she never got worked up over things even when the circumstances put everything at risk.
Nathan was pretty beat up by life. Although he was working hard on getting better, even that journey was leaving its mark on him. It was beautiful to see him slowly transform due to Lynn’s presence in his life. Having his point of view was exquisite. We were allowed to see and feel all of his pain, his joy, his dreams, and his fears. Having a moment to see his jealousy was just the icing on that particular cake.
This book starts out fast and hot. The steam level is unlike any I’ve read by this author in quite some time. Both Nathan and Lynn respond to issues like adults which can sometimes be hard to find in romance. The secondary characters were amazing. I loved them as well as the early little twist we are given regarding one of the hero’s daughters.
Definitely recommending this one!

More like 3,5 stars but I feel generous since it's my first book of 2018!
I liked how this story was focused on how a single parent struggles balancing with kids and having a personal life. As if this wasn't enough, Nathan is a public figure having to be extra careful about appearances. I really liked how his relationship with Lynn was reversed, starting from intimate only and turning to a life time relationship.
I only wish the author put up more care into not making a totally predictable plot for once. I really like her writing and the story lines she creates, but in 99% of her books I can she her plot twists from a mile long.

Loved it. H is a divorced ex politician that quit the game to take care of his daughters after their mom left them. His eldest ran away because he screwed up by being too controlling so he spends the time searching for her while also caring for his 16 year old daughter.
H/h have a fwb agreement where they meet every 3 months to hookup and have been doing this for the past 2 years. Both catch feelings and there's also family component to it. I loved them together so much.
Safe enough for me. h works with her ex and their lives overlap and that causes a bit of tension between H/h. And she used to be his intern back when he was married to his ex wife. Neither hold any feelings for their exes and I didn't mind it at all.

Nathan is a high powered businessman in the political world, a former presidential candidate with all the baggage that entails. He's divorced, estranged from one daughter who ran away and has an uneven relationship with the other. For the past two years he's been trying to track down the missing one, while maintaining the public facade that she's away at school in Europe. He has no time for a relationship. But since his daughter disappeared, he's been having an affair with a former intern. Lynn is well satisfied with her current life, writing for a political pundit magazine that she runs with her ex-husband with whom she still has an amicable relationship. When she worked for Nathan he was married and she was young and there was no impropriety between them. But meeting several years later the sparks between led to their arrangement to meet every three months for some sexual release. But after two years, they both decide they want something more frequent - not a commitment per se, but the opportunity to spend more time together. They start meeting every month, and then, as they start to confide other parts of their lives to each other, even more frequently. At the same time, Nathan discovers through his private investigator that his missing daughter is still living close by. In a surprising twist of fate, Lynn and Nathan find themselves with more in common than they expected and the ties between them grow deeper. But can they make the leap to a committed relationship?
I really enjoyed this story! Nathan comes across as a man who deeply regrets his failure to connect with his daughters while they were growing up. His focus on work took all his time and energy and now he's paying the price. But he's changing, spending time with his daughter who still lives with him and trying hard to find the one that left. He is definitely an empathetic character, a man who made mistakes but has learned from them. And in the bedroom? Well, he's definitely a very satisfying lover. The scenes with him and Lynn are very steamy and they are definitely compatible. It's not surprising that after two years they want to increase the frequency of their meetings. Neither has met someone else in the interim, and though they shy away from anything resembling a real relationship, in fact that's where things are leading. Lynn and Nathan start to confide more of their personal lives with each other and this cements their bond. Lynn is a friendly, self made woman. She's happy with her life as it is, though definitely not averse to spending more time with Nathan. Once they are seeing each other routinely it's easy to picture coming out in public - which scares Lynn as her career is in contrast to Nathan's and she fears that her political magazine won't be taken seriously if they are together. The plot has a few twists and turns as the search for Nathan's missing daughter intensifies. and I really liked how everything eventually fell into place and Nathan and Lynn were able to admit to each other their feelings. It's got just the right mix of drama and romance. 4 stars.

There are just some authors you click with -- know? Either as Noelle Adams or as Claire Kent, she works for me. I liked this book. I loved the premise of the story as promised in the blurb. An enjoyable afternoon read.
What clicked for me ...:
1 -- This author writes stories about chance meetings or circumstances. Where two people are busy getting on with living and just need to connect with another for a while. They aren't keen on the "happily ever after" stuff. Seriously not necessary. Love is something for others ... until if just SMACKS them clean across the face. She does this story line like no other. The only thing I wish, is that her stories were longer. A bit more meat. She can do it, but so far she hasn't needed to. We like her just the way she is. However, this would have been a 6 Star read for me if I could have had a bit more meat.
2 -- The characters in this story call to you. We have two divorced people. Both strongly engaged on their career path. One who is also trying to juggle the role of a single parent. They don't have time for much more than a hookup every now and again. It means nothing and it saves them having to look for someone else. No time for it. Hmm... well maybe we could meet a bit more frequently? I think we can handle it ... it goes from here. I loved these characters. They were so independent. Didn't they know that love will have its' way? After all, Love is strongest when we least expect it and LOVE conquers all!
3 -- The price point. Perfect at about $3. A great price for a rainy day of reading. Yeah me!!
Obviously, a few things could have been better ...:
1 -- Well, like I mentioned before, the book could have been longer. Taken the characters to the next level. This author writes tons of short stories or novellas. I'm not a great fan of a short read. I like stories I can sink my teeth into. Stories I can immerse myself for a bit. I really wish this author would do this for us. I think she can do it easily. She can create some phenom characters.
2 -- Maybe this goes along with what I've said before, but I would have liked to have had more of our secondary characters. We had the ex-husband, Matt. He was an interesting guy. There was a dynamic between he, Lynn and Nathan. This could have been fleshed out a bit more. I also liked Nathans daughters, Beth and Victoria. More background on Nathan who is a high profile person in the Washington political scene. Also, the difficulty for Nathan due to Lynn's web based political news journal was mentioned, but never really detailed. How does this end? What does this journey look like. Too many loose ends for me.
3 -- This goes along with #2. The title bothered me. This component of the story was downplayed. I think it fell a bit flat for me. I almost feel like the author was writing a novella that went a bit long. More please ...
I like this author. I haven't read much from her that I haven't liked, regardless of the pen-name used. She is good. Or, at least for me she is good. I've stayed away from her short stories. Reading only a few. Shorts are my cuppa. But, these longer reads? I could read her all day long and not get bored. I really like this author.

I was glad to find this book was more than I thought it would be.
I loved how human and mature Nathan and Lynn were.
And although I kind of figured out the daughter thing early on, I really liked how it played out and how the characters handled it.
The sexy scenes were hot and fun.

Noelle Adams’ emotionally-intelligent characters are a pleasure to read. Her contemporary romances are always a pleasure to read. This one was low-angst, but still very enjoyable. I enjoyed the natural development of the relationship and the secondary characters.

I enjoyed this sweet, touching, and sexy romance! Nathan and Lynn had a perfect situation. A relationship of convenience, no strings, no emotional involvement. Just a steamy get-together at a hotel once every three months. Nathan is a high profile politician and Lynn owns a political publication so it's best that their relationship stays under the radar.
But eventually the two of them start looking forward to their meetings a little too much. And when Nathan needs her, she's there as more than just a casual hook-up. Their relationship begins to get deeper and necessary.
I thought the gradual build-up of their relationship was done perfectly. I loved the deep feelings that snuck up on both characters. I love that the closed-off man stepped up to fight for his woman. Nathan's daughters were great too! The ending was satisfying and romantic! A quick, sweet read!

Nathan Livingston is sex in a $3000 suit. He has a high-powered political job in Washington DC. He's divorced from his evil ex-wife since she walked out on him and their two daughters when the girls were young. He has raised them by himself but done a pretty poor job. He is not a bad person but he had parents who used control in place of love, acceptance and guidance. He comes from old money and the social obligations that go along with it. I have a feeling he was raised in a 'children should be seen and not heard' household. I feel Nathan thought showing love was a weakness and when his little darlings would misbehave, like all children and teens do, his response was to tighten his control over them. Not good when we know most all teens are craving their freedom, more than ready to spread their wings and to have their father tighten his grip on them was not the way to handle these situations. It led to chronic arguments with the yelling and hollering that most arguments contain when you're dealing with teens. But he did love them...deeply. He just didn't show it, didn't know how to show it and we all know showing can be more important than telling. A child should feel secure in their parents' love.
The eldest daughter, Elizabeth, had finally had enough. She was tired of the constant control he held over her and her sister's lives and everything they did. She's broken and doesn't feel loved or wanted. She was her father's possession and she was done. She's has completely disappeared...poof...changed her name and identity. It has been done so well that there is no trace of her...anywhere...and Nathan has been searching for two years. Life has moved on but she is on his mind everyday. She's had to have help to disappear so completely but who on earth would have helped a sixteen-year-old girl (at the time) run away?
Nathan has no time to date or have a relationship but there's a woman, Lynn, that he is interested in for a sex-only relationship. They meet once every three-months and sex it up big time. They are both unaware that the other is monogamous during their down time. After a couple of years they both begin to realize every three months is certainly not enough. She is a great woman who has been divorced for some years. Her life is spent on her career and now it seems it's getting more difficult to have a three-month span of time before she sees Nathan again. Nathan is realizing the he needs and wants more but with the situation as it is with his missing daughter he is certain he can't handle an official relationship...and he has been such a poor excuse of a father that he feels all his time away from work should be devoted to his girls.
As things get more complicated with the missing daughter Lynn steps up to be a source of comfort and support and finally gets to meet the daughter who is still at home. They form a quick bond and Victoria is thrilled to see her dad happy. Their family is much better off with Lynn in their lives.
Gosh, this was a great book. I love the books Noelle writes and definitely recommend this book.

As things get more complicated with the missing daughter Lynn steps up to be a source of comfort and support and finally gets to meet the daughter who is still at home. They form a quick bond and Victoria is thrilled to see her dad happy. Their family is much better off with Lynn in their lives.
Gosh, this was a great book. I love the books Noelle writes and definitely recommend this book.

Lordy Noelle Adams knows how to pack an awful lot of story into such a short book, and it wasn’t a bad thing at all, I didn’t feel like the story was rushed, the plot and characters progressed nicely without feeling rushed or under-developed.
I am starting to love books that contain the POV of both main characters, and Ms Adams does this really well, it was great to get in Nathan’s head and see things from his perspective, rather than just being all from Lynn’s viewpoint, this was especially pertinent when it came to the part of the storyline involving his missing daughter.
The no-strings booty call storyline has become more popular lately, and I have to say that Missing is a good indication, that when well written it is hard to put down. There is the inevitable twist, and although a little predictable, I really enjoyed it.
This won’t be my last Noelle Adams book that’s for sure!

Missing opens with an arrangement that feels deliberately constrained, as if both characters are rationing intimacy the way one might do with time or sleep. On the surface, it begins as a strictly no-strings arrangement between two adults who believe they do not have the emotional bandwidth for anything more. Nathan Livingston is a powerful Washington political figure juggling a demanding career, a teenage daughter he is raising alone, and the unhealed wound of an older daughter who vanished from his life years ago.
Lynn, a sharp, competent reporter with her own past marriage behind her, knows better than to get entangled with a man whose life is permanently under a microscope. Lynn complements him beautifully. She is grounded, intelligent, and emotionally perceptive, a woman who understands both the power and the cost of independence. Their chemistry is not just physical with how naturally they connect outside the bedroom through conversation, shared silences, and an unspoken understanding of each other’s limits.
As their arrangement evolves, the carefully constructed walls begin to crumble. Nathan’s family life starts bleeding into what was meant to remain uncomplicated, and Lynn finds herself pulled into emotional territory she never planned to occupy. The tension here is not driven by dramatic external twists but by internal reckonings: fear of loss, of exposure, and of wanting more than either of them believes is possible.
What worked exceptionally well for me was the emotional arc involving Nathan’s daughters, particularly the eventual reunion with his missing child. That scene carried real emotional heft and underscored the depth of Nathan’s pain and longing in a way that made his character feel achingly human. I also appreciated how Lynn navigates her professional integrity alongside her feelings, refusing to compromise herself even when the stakes were personal. Nathan, for all his flaws, was downright delicious in his intensity, especially when he allows himself moments of vulnerability.
That said, I did wish for an epilogue. After investing so heavily in the emotional journey, a glimpse into their settled future would have added a sense of completeness. I also found myself questioning some aspects of the daughter’s estrangement, particularly how much of it stemmed from Nathan’s controlling tendencies versus external manipulation. Still, these were minor quibbles in an otherwise emotionally satisfying read. Nathan made me realize just how much I miss the sharper, more intense heroes Ms. Adams used to write so effortlessly. The laid-back hero has his place, but it’s the edgy, tightly coiled male protagonists who undo me every time. They are, quite unapologetically, my particular brand of doom siren.
Recommended for: Readers who enjoy low-angst but emotionally layered contemporary romance, intense single-father heroes, smart heroines with strong careers, and stories where intimacy grows through quiet moments rather than grand gestures.

This was a little longer read than her other books, which was nice because she was able to develop the characters a little more. I like how they start with the understanding that things will be casual. I always appreciate it when there is better communication between the love interests. Too many times a simple conversation would solve much of the problems, which is annoying and shows a weak character. This was not the case. I liked how the lovers converge on their mutual feelings.

Honestly how I have not read this book before. Every time I think that I have read everything this author has written I find another book that I have missed. This book was incredible. I loved Nathan and Lynn. They had so much chemistry together in and out of bed. The story line that Noelle Adams told involving these two kept me up way past my bed time. When I was finished reading this book I am so missing the characters and I really want to know what the future held for them. From the very first page I was hooked. Nathan is an incredible man who just has no idea how to express how he feels. He feels a lot and he feels deeply. Lynn is the perfect match for him. She gives it right back to him and then some. These two are a perfect match for each other. What happens when Lynn finds out something and does not come clean to Nathan right away. Will he be able to forgive her? Pick up this book and find out because you will not be disappointed.

Well, this was one hot, erotic, sensual romance. Starts off fairly gently introducing the characters, how they know each other and Nathan's family problems then....pow! The action heats up incredibly. The sexual tension between Lynn and Nathan is incredible. They have an arrangement to meet one night every three months for sex, sex and more sex. Neither want a relationship, putting other things first, but the chance for some hot sex seems good to both so long as they can keep it casual and private.
All goes well for two years and then...they both feel that maybe having got away with it for two years they could meet more often, say monthly, and then when that works they increase it further. Until somehow they're meeting several nights a week. Gradually its clear to others that they are both seeing someone, but they both still keep tight lipped about who it is. Then the past catches up on them and intertwines their lives further.
I'd guessed some of the plot, but it was still a fun read. The sex was written really well, seductive and sensual, hot, erotic, none of the cringing phrases often read in so many books. I liked Lynn, loved Nathan. He'd made mistakes in his private life but recognised them and was trying to change. When things happen that bring them closer it all dovetailed so neatly. I did enjoy this book but....and I’m going to sound like an echo but once again everyone was soo happy. There wasn't any sorrow, no heartbreaking sadness, just a lovely story that flowed from occasional meetings into a beautiful relationship. There wasn't enough drama for me, I liked the story, but would have loved it if there had been some sadness in contrast to all the happy parts.
So a spicy novel of 194 pages/342kb for £1.97 it's a good read if you just want a happy, feel good, sexy read. For me though I need that bit extra to join my keepers files but it was fine for a one off read.

I'm pretty sure I'll read anything Noelle Adams writes as I'm never disappointed. She has a versatile talent of being able to write different genres - erotica, light romance, and a unique series (considering her other books) that has a spiritual/faith angle. Even if it's a genre that I don't think I will enjoy, I've never finished a book by her and not felt something (and always positive!).
I liked that this book was a little bit of angst, but not the playing games and overly dramatic type. Nathan and Lynn are both more mature in their life, careers, and relationships (she's in her 30s and he's early 40s). For the past two years, they meet on the same day every three months with no commitments and can walk away at any time. Even from the beginning, there's still more to the couple than their physical attraction. There's an underlying story of Nathan's missing daughter. It's early on you put 2 and 2 together, but only heightens the suspense of how it will all play out. Seriously, I must have been on a run of reading unnecessarily dramatic and angsty books, because I was relieved and surprised by how the couple maturely handled what was thrown at them as they struggled with their feelings for each other. As soon as I thought the characters were going to react one way, it was a surprise to see the author go in the other direction and how she enhanced Lynn and Nathan's feelings for each other.
I'm caught up with the author's current releases, but this only made me realize I need to take the time and read her back-list. You can never go wrong with a Noelle Adams book!

I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. It starts out no-strings attached sex for both Lynn and Nathan. The have to be discrete because she owns a DC web based political/gossip magazine and he is a former politician turned consultant from a well known political family. Only meeting 4 times a year but then after 2 years they both want to increase the frequency. A month later they decide to increase again to as often as possible but still keeping it no-strings. This starts out okay but they slowly begin to feel more for each other but of course don't mention that. At the same time all this is going on Nathan is dealing with raising a 16 year old daughter and searching for his 19 year old daughter who went missing 2 years ago without a trace. Only a not saying she wasn't kidnapped but ran away. There are some twists along the way as well as quite a few steamy scenes.
The only issue I had with this book was that there was too much of the story playing out in Nathan and Lynn's heads and not enough dialogue. I prefer character interaction more than thoughts of the characters. Otherwise, I found it a very good book.

He knows that he hasn't spent enough time with his daughters because his dad never spent time with him. When Elizabeth runs away that just lives him Victoria. He tries to make up with her all of his wrongs.
Seems that the only time he gets to unwind is every three months when he meets Lynn and they have a night together. Neither wants a relationship but they don't want to be with anyone else. So they finally decide once a month and that turns into several times a week. Both of them are becoming more attached to each other.
In this book I was feeling several emotions. I loved how hot the sex was and then all of a sudden I would want to cry with everything that was going on. The author really touched me with this book and I have to say I didn't want to ever finish this book. I could just read it all the time. Now I know I will be looking for more books by this author.

This is the first time that i have read a book where the characters are already sleeping with each other, although every three months.
What starts off as just almost friends with benefits, but they do not contact each other in-between, moves after two years to something a little more, that turns into even more.
There is lots of feeling packed into this book and you really see the relationship and the feelings turning towards more even if its not always smooth.
Nathan may look like a polished perfect individual, but he is far from calm in his private life where he feels like a duck out of water. It is only Lynn that gives him the peace that he needs and the help to be a little less controlling and a little more secure.
A sweet book that seemed to be over way too fast.

I struggled on a 3/4 but felt this was more like a 3.75. The book brought tears to my eyes and that is hard to do. I liked the characters I just would have liked to see more of them I think that this book could have been made longer with more detail of why Beth left or what Nate really did. I think the only reason I did not give it a five is because I was more intrigued by the relationship and the hot sex then about the child missing. I think that the author took a leap and it was a very decent book.

What an emotionally intense read it was! It's definitely one you don't want to miss. Be prepared for a sizzling chemistry, flawed yet easy to love characters and a heart-wrenching conflict. Highly recommended!

They say the better the pleasure means the stronger the connection, but for Lynn and Nathan it is only a guarantee for release they both want.
But behind the scenes is Nathan suffering- trying to find his daughter who walked out of his life- and he doesn't know how to handle it.
Lynn has compartmentalized things until this recent time- maybe she's just looking for another round. They can keep it no strings right?
I enjoyed this book. It's an older romance with two people in their thirties and fourties and his teenage daughters. It develops a nice role for Lynn in their lives and let's the career women enjoy her independance and companionship too.

I loved that Victoria was rooting for Lynn and Beth really loved her boss. It's nice that Lynn had those special relationships.

Noelle Adams is very formulaic. I find her books very easy and comforting to read- because it feels realistic and follows the exact same plot points.
This one seemed to have a different premise and I was excited to read a romance mystery by her.
I really hated the male character. He was entitled and did not deserve the heroine. We get a lot more arc for him and all the hating his exes got a bit much especially as he clearly is not that great being a parent either. I really hate the evil other woman trope and this had it in spades, with the MCs name calling the ex on page, which was too far for me.
It had a great premise but ended up being really disappointing.

I enjoyed this! I like that there was real development of the characters despite this being such a short book. Each of the characters, not just the main ones, were able to learn and grow in some way. And I like how gradually the relationship developed between Lynn and Nathan. This story took place over the course of several months and as such felt more authentic than some novels that are much longer but that take place over a much smaller span of time. Overall, I thought this was really well done and enjoyed the quick read.
