Prince Jalen ‘Anaq Al-Jameyri, oldest son and heir to the kingdom of Zammar, is an acclaimed general, a war hero, and also a man who hides dark secrets behind a mask.
Sadie worked as a healer on the outskirts of the capital, offering her services to her neighbors to cure illnesses and injuries. But her abilities have attracted the attention of the authorities, and she is now awaiting death, accused of a crime she didn’t commit.
When all seems lost, the masked prince stays the executioner's hand and instead offers Sadie a bargain: a year of her life in his service. In exchange, when the year has ended, she will have her life and freedom again. With nothing left to lose, she accepts the deal.
In the palace of Zammar, under Jalen’s expert hands, Sadie will learn of pleasure and desire unlike anything she could have ever imagined. And she will step right Into the Fire...
This is a short book. It reads more like chapter 1 of a larger book. If I were to continue this story, I would buy the complete serial which is the collection of all 6 ebooks. The first book was also free when I picked it up.
I did enjoy this book. It sets up the two main characters and love interest. There is a very nice smut scene at the end of the book that was well written.
In book one of The Prince of Zammar series, we are introduced to Sadie, a healer deemed a witch, and Jalen, the prince. We also learn that the prince has a secret. There's a "beast" inside of him.
This was my first book by author Samantha Nolan. I enjoyed the story, but it was an extremely short book, it was like a prequel to a book, or only the first half or third of a book, it ends with a cliff hanger.
The character development and plot will bring you right in and you will be vested and want to know what is going on in the lives of the characters and then it just ends.
It's ridiculously short, but intriguing. I would only recommend it if you get it for free, otherwise not really worth it. I got it for free as a kindle ebook.
