Jenna Ryan was born in Victoria, British Columbia. After long stints in different cities across Canada, she returned home to Vancouver Island where she has lived ever since. She has had thirty-one books published in the Harlequin Intrigue series. Her ideas come from real life, and she is helped in her writing by her sister Kathy.

She enjoys reading and is a big fan of women's fiction, psychological suspense and mystery novels. She also enjoys watching classic suspense movies. She loves strong heroines, heroes with character, romance stories and a good whodunit by the fire on a rainy night.

Her heritage is a blend of English and Irish — which is probably where the gift of blarney comes from. She is unmarried, but involved with a wonderful man. She also has a little white cat named Sheena.

Whenever she is not writing, she travels as much as time and finances will allow. After North America, Europe is her favorite continent to explore, because it was in those countries that many of the myths and legends she drew upon in her early years of writing were born.

Growing up, she considered various careers and dabbled in several of them, including, after university, the travel industry, tourism, sales and modeling. Work in the fashion industry in Toronto and Montreal gave her an interesting peek into various aspects of that world. She learned that where money, power and people come together, there will always be unpredictability — an element she feels is essential to a strong mystery. Add a healthy measure of personal conflict, an intriguing setting and a spicy romance into the mix, and you have the ingredients for what she believes to be the best of all possible stories — a great romantic suspense.

Eli's kiss tortured her senses. And the feel of his body pressed against hers created a ball of lust that gathered in her stomach and then surged upward and out.

Ugh. To me, that sounds like she's vomiting!

Jenna Ryan is very old-school, using lots of euphemisms in her romantic scenes and sex scenes so that sometimes they're indecipherable! Also, her dialogue is truly, truly terrible.

The Blume family and Bellam families that apparently solely populate Raven's Hollow have links to each other all over the place, going back hundreds of years, to the degree that I think the town is situated squarely in Incestville! I was uncomfortable with the thought that Sadie and Eli were linked not only by marriage, but blood as well!

Gratuitous dream sequences (a pet hate of mine) helped to drop some of the star rating, too.

But it's fast-paced, suspenseful in places, spooky in others, and I didn't spot the killer!

Good book that was also pretty creepy. Sadie has come home to run the family newspaper. Now she's been targeted by a stalker who seems to want her as dead as her cousin Laura. Eli has come to Raven's Hollow from New York City for his great-grandfather's birthday. He's never forgotten the murder of his stepsister and the fact that the killer was never caught. When he finds out that Sadie's stalker seems to share some characteristics with Laura's murderer, he's determined to protect her.

Sadie has been having some really creepy dreams that involve a love triangle and some of her ancestors. Some of the things her stalker is doing feed right into those dreams. She's known Eli all her life and having him protect her is both good and bad. Good because he'll keep her safe, but bad because there's an attraction between them that can only mean trouble. The women in her family are not known for having successful relationships, but that's what she'd like to have with Eli. I really enjoyed the sparks that were flying between them and seeing how they tried to resist.

Eli has avoided relationships for years. His last one didn't end well and he feels guilty for nearly killing the woman he was with at the time. He's all too familiar with the fact that cops and relationships are something that doesn't usually work out well. He can't deny the heat that exists between Sadie and himself, but he doesn't want to hurt her. He also doesn't want anything to happen to her and is determined to solve the mystery of who is after her, especially with the connection to the murder of his stepsister.

The whole stalker story was very creepy. It was interesting to see how family legends of witchcraft and love triangles also helped the stalker terrify Sadie. His ability to contact Sadie and know what she was doing at that time both scared her and made her mad. As the book went on and she and Eli tried to figure out who it was various family members got involved. Sadie's cousin Molly tried a seance that ended up including a visit from the stalker. She also ended up giving Sadie some interesting insights into a lot of their friends and relatives. Sadie's former fiance, local cop Ty, had his own issues that included a less than cordial relationship with his own cousin Eli. The testosterone laced encounters between them were pretty amusing. I also loved Eli's great-grandfather's incorrigible attitudes about almost everything, including his commentary on Eli's sex life. As the climax of the story came hurtling along I loved seeing the work that Eli and Sadie did to figure out who was behind it. I have to say that I never suspected the culprit.

In Ryan’s romantic intrigue novel, Raven’s Hollow not only has numerous hidden secrets, but it is also home to a murderer. Twenty years ago, Detective Eli Blume’s stepsister was killed and the crime remains unsolved. Now, another woman Eli cares for has become the killer’s target. Sadie Bellam knows her stalker is flesh and blood and not some ghost back for revenge. While Eli provides her with protection, their closeness sparks a passion that rages and drives a murder closer.

A hard to put down story.

Not that good tbh. I wasn't expecting high quality from a harlequin book, but come on man, at least make the romance have SOME chemistry. Not to mention the twist was absolute shit. I didn't like this book. Not at all. Also could have used some more spice.
