Brody has liked Genna for a while now, but he knows that he has to remain unaffected to her, for if he is to act on it would only ruin her reputation and he is not worthy o someone like her. But when she shows up and starts to seduce him he can only resist so much and once he puts a hand on her, no matter how innocent, things get complicated. Unfortunately her father showed up and now he has been shipped off to the Navy.
Now years later, Genna has written a letter to Brody to inform him of her brother’s death. Brody is still in the Navy, but he has become a SEAL, one of the best. He doesn’t receive any mail except from his grandmother that contains some kind of baked sweet that all his comrades love s much they are really valuable during poker night.
At first Brody is angry about getting a letter from Genna, but his response which was angry and short but very suggestive makes things very interesting for them both. Letters that neither expected at first soon become letters they cannot wait to receive. But the suggestive and very hot letters can only last so long, and when Brody is injured during a mission and has to take some time for PT until he ready to go back to work, being back in town will only be more interesting with Genna right next door.

The man she fell had a crush on so many years ago, but has been falling in love with since their letter exchange began.
Genna will have to face the truth that she has been hiding from for many years and make a stand if she wants to have her own life. While Brody will have to learn to let go of the past and realize that he is nothing like his father and he has made a great life of his own that he should be proud of. As well as realize that the guilt he carries from his last mission is not something that he should be carrying, for it only dishonors his friends and himself, instead of showing how much they are each and every one a hero on their own.
For a HOT, Sexy and very Fun read, don’t miss A SEAL’s Salvation by Tawny Weber.
Run out of town as a teen for “misbehaving” with the sheriff’s daughter, Brody Lane found a home with the Navy SEALs. Injured and suffering from PTSD, Brody returns home with the same bad boy reputation and the same sizzling hot attraction for Genna Reilly. Only now, they aren’t kids anymore…
The books in this series have everything going for them - intense, alpha heroes, spitfire heroines, small town charm and steamy romance.
Brody and Genna are wonderful both as a couple and as individuals. He is the boy from the wrong side of town just biding his time before leaving, but when he comes face to face with the temptation that Genna poses, he simply can’t resist. Later, his pain and loss of faith following the death of a teammate is heartwrenching and it is a sign of his strength and resilience, as well as Genna’s love, that he is able to overcome it.
Genna is the quintessential “good girl” who never puts a foot out of line until she meets the one boy she cannot have and then all bets are off. She is a truly lovely and caring person, and it is great seeing her growing in confidence and standing up for herself against her overbearing father.
Their opposites attract relationship begins with a sweaty, steamy encounter and none of the years that pass diminishes their chemistry one iota.
All in all, the simple yet captivating story and the familiar yet memorable characters make this an excellent read. Looking forward to the next yummy SEAL in the series.
Very good book. Brody was the bad boy, son of the local drunk. Genna was the seventeen year old daughter of the sheriff, with a huge crush on Brody. One night she took a dare to corner him and kiss him. Just as things were getting interesting they were caught by her father. Brody was given the choice of joining the military or being arrested. Being a smart guy he left town and joined the navy.
Ten years later, Brody is a navy SEAL who hasn't seen Genna since that night. When he receives a letter from her, telling him about her brother's death, he writes back, beginning an exchange of steamy letters. When he gets injured during a mission, his grandmother brings him back to his hometown to heal and try to escape the memories of that mission. He doesn't expect to be faced with Genna almost as soon as he gets there.
Genna has been paying for that one kiss for ten years. Thanks to her brother's out of control behavior her parents became even more overprotective. She's been stuck in her hometown, doing the job her father got her, dating the men they approved of, and never making any waves. When Brody comes back to town she figures it's her chance to live a little.
I loved the two of them together. Genna has always had some sass to her personality, but it's been buried under her efforts to please her parents. It really comes out when she faces down Brody the first time she sees him after he comes back. She doesn't let him get away with hiding out. Brody has always had the bad boy reputation, but under all that attitude is a pretty sensitive guy. The loss of his friend during the mission has caused a loss of confidence in his abilities to protect the rest of his team. He is ready to turn his back on the job that he loves because he feels he isn't capable any longer. The chemistry between Brody and Genna is sizzling, but Brody is determined to resist. I loved seeing the way they settled for friendship at first, giving them a chance to actually get to know each other, before Genna gives in to her attraction and seduces him.
I loved the growth that both characters went through. Just having her hero back in town gives Genna the self confidence to finally stand up to her parents and go after the life she wants. I loved seeing the way that she takes her stress-coping mechanism of baking and turns it into the career she can love. I liked the way that she made her plans with the options that were most flexible for the life she wanted to have. I loved seeing her with Brody's friends who visited and asked her help with Brody. It opened her eyes to more of who Brody is beneath the bad boy exterior. Meanwhile, Brody has had to deal with healing his physical injuries, but also to come to terms with the loss of his friend. He tries leaving the job he loves behind, but his sense of loss gets even worse. It is a conversation with Genna's dad that actually brings him the peace he's been looking for, and is reinforced by Genna in an act that shows just how well she's come to know him.
Mess with the sheriff’s daughter and you may be run out of town by nightfall. Sound like an old western? Nope, local “Bad Boy” Brody Lane found young Genna Reilly to be irresistible when she came on to him back in high school. Too bad her father walked in and made Brody an offer he could not refuse. Years have passed and Brody returns home, a wounded war hero, decorated by the President, the best of the best, a Navy SEAL and still, he can’t get a break with the sheriff when it comes to Genna, who is paying the price for her late brother’s wild ways. Still under her father’s thumb, the wild streak in Genna that yearns to break free is drawn to Brody, he is all she wants and needs. Will he continue to push her away or will he give her the strength to follow her dreams, stand up to her unreasonable father and become the woman she is meant to be?
A SEAL’s Salvation by Tawny Weber is pure reading enjoyment! Her characters are flawed, hopefully one minute, resigned the next, filled with ghosts from the past and dreams for the future that seem unattainable until love joins two halves and creates a formidable “whole.” Ms. Weber has taken a difficult scenario, a wounded and damaged war veteran who fails to see why he lived when others didn’t and puts him in the path of a determined woman who knows what she wants, just not how exactly to get it. Wonderful dialogue and tension, great chemistry between the main characters, a nice escape from reality!

A SEAL's Salvation is a very, very nice book, I read it in a few hours. Thanks to the character of Genna I made lots of laughts, she's a real high-spirited girl, a little naughty, that when she puts something in mind goes straight on her way, and the "poor" Brody, never got the chance to be able to resist her.
Where navy SEAL "Bad Ass" Brody Lane goes, trouble follows. Being run out of his hometown years ago for misbehaving with Genna Reilly—the sheriff's daughter—was one thing. I must say that the plot is not very original, but the characters and their story make it special. Brody is a little taciturn and introverted, very different from Genna, but the term "sexy as hell" fits perfectly for him. For Genna say is certain is an understatement, she put on her head since he was a child that she wanted Brody, and Brody must be. The time has changed them, made them grow, leaving scars, but the attraction between the two of them has not changed, is not limited only to a whim. There are obstacles and Brody puts himself to create even more. I must say that if at the beginning Genna's father was truly unbearable, he surprised me a lot, and I loved him too. I think that I have to be increased by a few pounds just imagining the desserts prepared by Genna, delicious. I recommend this book with all my heart for those who want to find a nice book, fun, hot sex and that at the end the reading does not leave unsatisfied them or even worse let them down. Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for the preview.
Seventeen year old Genna had a raging crush on her brother's friend, bad boy Brody Lane. On a dare, she intended to seduce Brody and get a kiss for her efforts. She got more than she bargained for, but the moment was swiftly ruined when her father, the sheriff of Bedford, caught them together. By the time she'd completed her time on house arrest, Brody had left town and joined the Navy. Fast forward ten years later, Genna hasn't had any luck in her dating life, her brother died, her parents still had her under their thumbs and she never forgot about the one that got away.
Brody made something of himself by joining the Navy and becoming a SEAL. Then, out of the blue, he received a letter from Genna telling him about her brother's passing. Genna was not only shocked to have received a reply, but more so by the content of Brody's letter.
The story started of sweetly with the sheriff's daughter and the small town's bad boy making a connection only to be torn apart by an irate and over-protective father. With that lead in to the story, I was supposed to believe that her first kiss and rounding second base with Brody had left such an impact on her that she hadn't forgotten it in ten years. The boyfriends or dates that had come after could never compare to those few minutes of bliss. Anything is possible, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
I had a bit of difficulty getting into this story because of the cliched small town mentality which was laid on very thick throughout the story. Usually I enjoy small town romances because of the sense of community and the humor that can ensue from meddling residents, but Bedford was far from idyllic. Even after ten years, the town hadn't given up on stigmas or gossip. After everything Brody had done, the sheriff was still a thorn in his side, Genna's best friend was quick to put Brody down as the loser bad-boy, and the mayor who was salivating at the mouth to have a huge parade and press coverage for the hometown hero were the icing on the cake. Then there was Genna, the girl who tried so hard to be perfect for her parents to ease the pain and guilt over her brother's shortcomings, which had eventually killed him, that she allowed herself to be manipulated every which way and have her life dictated to her.
As a couple, their first reunion got off to a rocky start which he tried to smoothe over by suggesting they become friends and get to know one another. From there, it was thanks to him that Genna realized she needed to stand up for herself and make changes if she ever wanted to be happy. I had to wonder if she would have continued to bemoan the trajectory her life and done something about it had Brody not returned to shake things up. She did redeem herself towards the end which showed she'd finally done some growing up, and it was finally her turn to save Brody from himself.
For me, it was an okay story. The simple plot line and rather bland characters don't make this a memorable story, but if you love military romances with friends to lovers and second chances tropes, then you'll probably like this.

Ah, the temptation of forbidden fruit. That was exactly what Brody was to Genna…and vice versa. Genna is the epitome of a good girl and Brody is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. They couldn’t be more different, yet the sparks can't be denied.
Genna has always wanted Brody, but he acts as if she doesn’t exist. Then feeling bold from a dare, Genna seeks out Brody and decides to act on her desire. What neither of them expected was to get caught my Genna’s father who is also the town’s sheriff. Left without much choice from Sheriff Reilly, Brody is forced to enlist in the navy. Fast forward ten years later and Brody is back in town on leave due to an injury from a mission gone badly.
Ten years may seem like a long time, but the flames are still burning hotter than ever for these two. Fate has brought Brody and Genna back together and while Genna helps Brody heal emotionally from his wounds, Brody helps Genna find her true self and fight for what she really wants.
The SEAL’s Salvation was a nice and sexy story. The story isn’t very original, but I think it was the characters that made the story stand out. Genna and Brody were likeable characters. I was pleased to see growth in Genna's character as the story progressed. Instead of continually pleasing everyone, especially her parents, she stood up to them and went for what she wanted in her career and went after Brody. As for Brody, I loved that he was the strong and silent type. I thought they made a wonderful pair together.
While I enjoyed this story for the most part I did find myself losing interest at several places throughout. I just wasn’t fully invested in the story and found myself skimming at times. Thus in the end, I give A SEAL’s Salvation a rating of 3.5 stars.
*I received an e-ARC from the publisher via Netgalley for an honest review. I was not compensated for this review.
I won't rehash the plot - you can get that from the blurb.
I loved the way this started - teenage Genna's hesitant attempts at seducing Brody on a dare. She'd been crushing on him anyway, and took this opportunity to make herself do something she'd been afraid to do. Brody took her unskilled attempts and ran with them, until her father showed up. To me, this was a pretty empowering first experience for a girl, even if they never got to third base.
Fast-forward ten years, and Genna writes Brody to let him know that her brother has died. Brody's pithy single line response to her letter shakes her out of her personal and professional doldrums and reignites her feelings for him. Their correspondences before his return home on convalescent leave were both funny and hot.
There were great insights into what might make a man, particularly a SEAL, feel like a failure, and the way Genna came up with to make the hometown heroes parade okay for Brody was really touching.
I really enjoyed Genna's coping mechanism - incessant baking - and loved that Brody's friendship enabled her to take the first step in making that into the vocation she'd always wanted.
Genna and Brody are two characters I wouldn't mind revisiting several years into the future, when they're facing another obstacle and have to find their way back to the core of their relationship.
I wasn't entirely convinced of the sudden turnaround of Genna's parents, but that was a very small oddity in an otherwise really good book.
There were a few typos and the formatting was a bit wonky in places. I did keep reading Genna as Gemma, probably because I'd never seen Genna spelled that particular way, but that was my thing, not the author's.
I received a digital copy of this book from Netgalley for the purposes of review.
Genna and Brody have a history. An interesting history from when they were children (or at least Genna was a child) – and Brody leaving town because, well, his attraction to Genna was not appreciated by her father, the town Sheriff. Brody returns from being deployed overseas with baggage and issues and Genna in his line of sight.
Genna has always had her life orchestrated for her and Brody has never been included in that orchestration. Genna wants that – no matter what issues it causes or what barricades she has to knock down. Both with issues and skeletons but they overcome huge obstacles for their need to be with each other. It was a great read and a fun read and is on my re-read shelf!!!
THIS is the reason I enjoy reading the Blaze line: Alpha males, women with a backbone, and steam! Brody has returned home to the "one who got away" but has remained in his heart. While there are several elements in the story that remind one of other stories, it still works! I would recommend reading the prior two books in the series as the main characters either make an appearance or are mentioned most significantly one previous heroine's connection with Brody-purely platonic!
Speaking of characters: these folks had some depth. They aren't cookie cutter models (for the most part) plunked into a typical former teenage crush/forbidden love a la "West side Story" story line, there's depth and some truly bittersweet moments in this quick, easy sexy read.
This is a story that you will not want to put down from the first page it pulls you in Brody and Genna have a past that changed Brody's life and he went away and joined the navy and when he is injured on a Seal mission and comes back to his hometown Genna is still there and she still has that crush on him. This one is hot sensual and steamy story as both Brody and Genna come to terms with their past and the love between them grows and hots up. The emotion and sensuality is amazing and I so love Brody what a hero :) I loved this story and I highly recommend it yep this one is going to stay with me for a long while and will be re read more than once.
This is the third book in Tawny's Seal series. All are must reads. I loved this one. Great characters, very steamy and a mystery too. So happy more Seal books are coming this year. Tawny rocks!
This story had a good premise but the heroine and her father set up such a strong story conflict that I never warmed up to them and their eventual turn around didn't seem real. As a teen Genna takes on a dare to kiss town bad boy Brody.
For a run down what the book is about please see the the blurb above the reviews.
The plot was well done. The characters likable. This is the second time I've read this series due to not realizing it was one of the series I've read before. I just forgot to do the reviews for them then.
In this one, is another couple who knew each other when they were teens but then her father sends off the hero as punishment. Only it wasn't for him because he was going to do it anyway. However, what the heroine's father did sat with the heroine over the years. Now that the hero's coming home she doesn't know how to handle it. For the past years, they have been sending letters back and forth to each other only the hero doesn't know its the heroine. Now he's coming home and she's afraid what will happen. Will they work it out or will they be separated again?
The plot started as a typical story but then the author threw in curve balls which was great and unexpected.
Another great book can't wait to read the next one but sad its the last one in the series.
I keep thinking..this is my favorite..then i read the next and say the same thing! Thank you Tawny for these amazing guys and incredible stories! I think this one really ran the gamut of emotions for me , but Genna And Brody are incredible! And made me hungry for cookies! And although i am always thankful for all of the military, i have to say an extra thank you today, for all the sacrifices they make daily for us...and for the families that they leave behind.

REVIEW
For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed watching movies and reading stories about men in uniform so when the opportunity came for me to read and review A Seal’s Salvation I was quite excited.
In A Seal’s Salvation we meet Brody and Genna, who are the main characters in the story. While in high school Genna had a huge crush on Brody, however, he never gave her the time of day. Genna would do almost anything to get him to notice her as such when the opportunity arose for her to kiss him based on a game of truth or dare she jumped at it. However, little did she know that this chance of fulfilling her secret fantasy would have resulted in Brody being run out of town and forced to join the Navy.
Brody was what one would consider a bad ass in his youth. He had his own fantasies about Genna but was afraid to act on them out of fear of her father’s reaction and based on his belief that she was out of his league. However, when Genna approached him that fateful night he put up no resistance which led to him being forced to leave town by her father who had caught them together. Ten years later they were both reunited when Brody returned home to recuperate from an injury he received while on a mission. It was clear that Genna’s feelings for Brody had not faded if anything it had intensified. She was intent on doing what it takes to win him over, even if it meant going against her parents’ wishes and putting her good girl persona behind her. Will she succeed now where she failed ten years ago?
Brody tried being indifferent in feelings towards Genna by keeping her at a distance every chance he got. He uses his past and what had happened to him on his last mission as an emotional crutch and as an excuse not to get close to Genna. Will he be able to overcome the obstacles of his past and take a chance on love?
The plot, although not original, was well written and developed. The characters were also well developed and this brought a certain flavour to the story which contributed to it being a worthwhile read. The story flowed and it does not leave readers with any unanswered questions and it was quite funny, sexy and entertaining.
If you are looking for a sweet romantic read and you love a man in uniform then you need to get yourself a copy of A Seal's Salavation.
DISCLOSURE
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.
PJV Quickie: If you are looking for a quick hot read, you can’t go wrong with a Harlequin Blaze book, they are always tightly written, quick romances, with great HEAs. Author Tawny Weber’s UNIFORMLY HOT series are no different. Weber’s books are always sexy and romantic with just enough angst to get your heart pumping. There were a few issues, mainly originality, but A SEAL’S SALVATION was full of sexy-time, romance and small-town angst. Enjoy.
Review: Genna and Brody are the main characters of A SEAL’S SALVATION. The story is a typical one, a young, wrong side of the tracks boy, tempted by his best-friend’s little sister. When that temptation walks into his garage, with plans of seduction…things go downhill from there. Little sister’s daddy is the town sheriff and with a few threats he sends Brody packing, headed straight for the United States Navy. Ten years later Brody is a decorated war hero and going home for the first time. Genna is still stuck in her small-town, still bullied by her father, living where he says, doing the job that he tells her is “best.” When Brody comes home, Genna is finally ready to stray from “Daddy Knows Best.” What better way to move-along from Daddy’s overbearing life-plan? Reignite that one night of almost passion with Brody. There might be a problem though. Brody doesn’t consider himself a hero and he doesn’t even think he wants to go back to the SEALs, his life-change plays havoc with his self-confidence and his ability to love.
While I’ve read this basic story a few times before, the characters of this particular homeward bound soldier story was the key to its success. Genna was a great, innocent, but determined character. Brody was a sexy alpha, who had some great qualities and even better issues. They came together in a very real way, their relationship and their issues were real-world problems that were dealt with logically. Brody’s struggles with his recent mission, might have been slightly trivialized, but it worked for a short, hot romance.
Now, about that Romance. The first scene of the book opened up the hotness. Teenage Genna is set on seducing her crush, bad-boy Brody. It was fun and a bit sexy and then sad how it ended. But, when the characters reunite after ten years, it’s well-done and cute. Genna is kind of awkward, so their romance just felt real. It wasn’t one of these over-blown, swoon-over erotic stories, but just a charming, sexy story. They have issues almost from the beginning. Brody has war-related problems and Genna has daddy issues, so their falling-in-love is blocked from the beginning. It was fun and angsty to read and experience.
My basic issues came in light of the lack of originality. I’ve read this type of story before, especially recently, as military romances seem to have gained popularity. Not that it ever went out of style, I’m just seeing a bit more on the mainstream popular lists lately. Then there were a few bits of silly behavior by the characters that I thought were there to just advance the angst. Brody taking a position as a bartender, instead of going back into the SEALs, almost like he wanted to ruin himself. This act perpetuated the issues he was dealing with, but it was almost like the epitome of a downward spiral, and because it was so extreme it trivialized things. Nothing terribly detracting though, from the story. I enjoyed this story thoroughly and hope to read more from Tawny Weber.
Recommendations: This is recommended for adult readers who enjoy contemporary romance. Readers of authors such as Sylvia Day, Susan Mallery and Laura Kaye should enjoy.
When Brody finds out that Genna is not the person he thought she was will he be able to resist her even if she is the daughter of the Sheriff that gave him the ultimatum?
Wow I could not put this book down for one minute. I loved everything about it. Yes I have to say that there were a couple of errors here and there but believe me they were nothing compared to the storyline. I fell in love with both of the characters and I’m so glad that one person was able to finally live their own life. I hated that Brody had to make her see it but it was time that she opened her eyes. I love when I’m able to connect with the characters, that I’m able to feel like I’m with them while I’m reading. I loved the cat and mouse chase that they had going and especially the bickering.
Brody “Badass” Lane ended up in the Navy not because he wanted to but because he was forced to. He thought he hated Genna for showing up at his house for provoking him but he realized that he was made for the military. He ended up as a Navy SEAL and he loved what he did, but that all changed when a mission went wrong. I’m not saying that he didn’t love it any more but something happened that he broke. Not only was he seriously injured but how could he go back.
Genna Reilly is what Brody calls a princess. She has given up a lot of her life because she could not tell her parents no. The one time that she took a dare and received something special from Brody her father got in the way. Now she is a grown woman and it seems that her father more than her mother is running her life. Come on and see what they have done to you just because she didn’t want to cause them a headache because of her brother. When something happens to her brother, she writes Brody a letter notifying him. Only she never thought that his response would have been, “What are you wearing?” really come on. She really thought that he was flirting with her but he was not and she received a wake up welcome home hero greeting.
So Brody has not seen Genna in about 10 years and he comes off as an asshat. I could not believe how rude he was. Okay I know that he was not feeling all that great because of what happened to him but also what happened to another SEAL but come on don’t take that out on Genna. All she wanted to do was welcome him back and maybe also show the town that he is no longer the bad boy he was when he was younger. He was a hero and he deserved respect.
A SEAL’s Salvation is a great read. The characters were well developed and I connected with them. What I loved about Genna was her sassiness and after seeing what she allowed her parents to do her enthusiasm to do what she loves, bake I really felt bad for her. Now as for Brody I know that he is known as the bad boy but he is truly a caring, loyal, loving guy that just needed the love of Genna to complete him. He was very hard for him to understand that he did what he needed to do in that mission. He needed to quit blaming himself for leaving a brother. Brody needed to work out his emotions, his demons in order for him to live again. Now as for the chemistry between Brody and Genna that was explosive. The chemistry is there from the moment that they see each other but Brody is making excuses but Genna has enough guts to seduce him and seduce him she does.
I totally recommend this read to all readers especially to those who love military men. I especially love that both of these characters journey made them grow and see that they were meant for each other.
Between the opening scene and the author note of this book, I was a little thrown until I realized the story had its roots in events from ten years early when Genna and Brody were both teenagers, though she was still jailbait as Brody puts it, rather than the book being about a Seal and a teenager. That was my last hiccup in reading this novel though.
Genna and Brody are perfect examples of how to make characters spring to life with real issues from the start. The glimpse into their teenage past shows how assumptions can blind people to value, and how some use their positions of authority to bully. In this case, Genna’s father, as Sheriff, gives Brody a choice between jail and the Navy when he shows interest in Genna. He’d committed no actionable crime and his reputation as a teenage troublemaker is founded on acts that would have been excused in a wealthy kid, as they were in Genna’s brother. That kind of experience, especially on top of an abusive, alcoholic father, can have an impact on a person. Brody’s value is shown in how he comes to appreciate what Genna’s father did because the Navy gave him purpose rather than clinging to the unjust aspects. The Seal qualities emphasized in the story are the important ones: purpose, the team, and drive rather than the adrenaline junkie side that does not leave much hope for the future.
Genna takes a little more time to realize she doesn’t have to be the counterbalance for her brother’s failings, a lesson she learns only when a double tragedy brings Brody back into her life. She suffers under an overprotective dad, yes, but it’s also a situation of her own making because she does little to assert herself, taking the road least likely to create conflict. She’s put her life, ambitions, and dreams on hold, succumbing to parental pressure and guilt, but when Brody starts treating her unjustly, she assesses her life and finds it wanting. Rather than letting that fact overwhelm her, she starts taking action and proves herself more than capable.
In many ways, that night ten years before had been a turning point for both of them, Brody to getting his life in order and ensuring he would not become his father, and Genna in cementing her loss of agency in favor of her parents’ needs. This allows both of them a growing point that Weber capitalizes on to offer a complex read where Genna must finally take a stand and Brody needs to as well, though in his case what he stands against is perception rather than pressure.
The Blaze imprint is on the sensual side, and this book doesn’t fall down there either. Even better, the lust-filled encounters serve to illustrate Genna and Brody’s troubled relationship while it reveals more than either is ready for.
My first thought when finishing this powerful and compelling read was simply: “Wow.” This novel illustrates just how one can stay within the genre and still deliver a deep, intriguing, complicated story with bigger implications about the assumptions people make based on class and how easy it is to blame an outsider rather than trying to figure out what’s really going on. And that’s not even touching on the post-traumatic syndrome Brody suffers thanks to the events that send him back to the one place he never wanted to return to. Well worth the read.
P.S. I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
A Recommended Read! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:
Brody Lane grew up with an alcoholic father and most of the townspeople judged him according to his dad’s reputation. When he is caught misbehaving with the sheriff’s daughter, Genna, he is given a choice between the Army or the Navy. Joining the Navy is the best thing Brody has ever done. He finds his niche and becomes one of the elite, a Navy SEAL, whose code name is Badass. Ten years later, he receives a letter from Genna, informing him of her brother’s death. She figured he would want to know since her brother had been his best friend. Although Brody has never forgotten her, he considers her the town princess and still remembers her role in getting him exiled from his hometown, so he angrily answers her letter. His short and to the point reply to her letter soon sparks a series of naughty messages sent back and forth between them. But when a mission goes wrong, with the death of a teammate and Brody injured, he returns to his hometown to heal and be near his grandmother.
Genna Reilly has been closely controlled by her parents and feels that she has to make up for her brother’s unlawful ways. She blames herself for Brody’s exile since the intimacy that caused it had been her response to a dare by her friends. Seventeen at the time, she had been confined to her home for a month. By the time the month was up, Brody was already gone. Ten years later, no man has ever compared to Brody and when she sends him the letter about her brother, she hopes to hear from him. However, she never counted on the feelings inspired by their subsequent correspondence.
Prodded by Brody’s grandmother, Genna pays a visit to the injured SEAL and is shocked by the changes in him. Now withdrawn and hiding his pain, she can see that he suffers from more than just his physical injuries. Can she bring her favorite badass back to life, or will she lose him for good?
A sexy tale, A SEAL’S SALVATION, the third book in bestselling author Tawny Weber’s HOT, SEXY SEALS series, is a touching, sensual contemporary romance that will have you smiling at times and near tears at others. Like the rest of this amazing series, I enjoyed this series immensely. The well-drawn characters are true-to-life with all the foibles and vulnerabilities inherent in human beings as they work out the problems that life dishes out to them. Dealing with parent issues and PTSD, these two wonderful characters struggle to rise above it all, resulting in an emotional ending that is sure to delight readers. The chemistry between Brody and Genna is so hot, you almost expect to see smoke rising from the pages!
Filled with humor, realistic characters, physical and emotional healing, family dynamics, small town issues, romance and a one-of-a-kind love, this story is sure to steal your heart. I am a huge fan of Ms. Weber and her Navy SEALs and eagerly await her next installment to this tantalizing series. If you enjoy stories that quickly draw you in, with plenty of humor, heat and hunky men, this is the book for you. Definitely a Recommended Read!
A SEALs Salvation by Tawny Weber is another sexy tale mixed with sizzle and sweet treats! Leave it to Tawny to make baking sexy! I always find myself with a desire to bake cupcakes or cookies during and after reading her tantalizing stories! Once again we find another member of the infamous SEAL team from Coronado this time it’s Petty Officer First Class Brody Lane.
As luck would have it we discover that Brody was once the residential bad boy that the town Sheriffs daughter lusted after. After a Truth or Dare challenge, Genna takes the Dare and goes after Brody, her older brother’s best friend, for a kiss! Unfortunately for Brody Sheriff Reilly, Genna’s dad, finds them alone and disheveled assuming the worst. Brody is given two choices, face jail time since Genna is not quite 18 or enlist in the military. Realizing that he’d destroy Genna should anyone find out they’ve been alone together he makes the only obvious choice and enlists in the Navy.
As with all crushes time has passed but for Genna she’s never been able to get rid of that itch that Brody filled. Sure Brody has had a fling or two but he secretly is still thinking about Genna as well. While on a mission something happens that ends with a man injured and a soldier left behind. Leaving a soldier behind goes against what he stands for. The loss of a friend, soldier and team member has him questioning if he’s focused enough and able to be a SEAL.
Everything has come full circle as he finds himself back home in the sleepy town of Bedford just outside of Coronado. He’s gone back by force from his Commanding officer to recover and take care of Physical Therapy. To many he’s revered as a hero while to others in Bedford still considered him up to no good. Unable to deal with the tragedy along with inquiring gossips he decides to hide out at his Gramma’s place.
Have you ever wanted someone so bad that nothing else satisfies that itch? Fulfill that void? Poor Genna has tried for the past 10 years to get over losing the one thing that she thought she wanted, Brody. Upon hearing that he’s back because he’s been injured she wonders if this is another chance to uncover happiness?
When Genna gets frustrated she bakes and for the past 8 years she’s baked a lot! Can she finally admit to those she loves that she is destined for greater things beyond the Mayor’s office? Will fate bring Brody and Genna together or will they continue to lust from afar? Would she be willing to sacrifice everything based on her fantasies over the past 10 years to find out if they still have that animalistic connection?
Unfortunately they both have issues with the town Sheriff, can they both resolve them and move forward? Will Brody see himself as a distinguished soldier who’s dedicated and a natural born soldier?
Reading Tawny Weber’s books are just as decadent as a triple chocolate fudge cupcake with a chocolate dipped Oreo on top! Just add sugar and spice and you have a sweet read that will surely satisfy all your cravings. Tawny knows how to blend just the right mix of naughty with fantastic characters who draw you in. I am salivating as I curl up to read A SEALs Kiss, stay tuned!
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review*
This is the 3rd book in the Uniformly Hot! series.
I LOVED the first two books. This one fell flat for me unfortunately. Now don't get me wrong. It's still good, steamy, and sexy, but after reading the first two, I wanted more out of this book.
What really bothered me was how connected Genna and Brody were. It felt unrealistic and too fast considering the circumstances. He was her older brother's best friend and known for getting into trouble. Genna's family hated Brody and blamed him for the things their son got into, though honestly it was hardly his fault.
Genna's always harbored a massive crush on him, but they hardly spoke or crossed paths, until one night, on a dare, she seeks him out to claim a kiss. She was about to graduate high school and wanted to taste him just once before going off to college. Well things got kind of hot and heavy, which would have been bad because she was underage, when they were caught by her father.
Genna's father forced Brody into joining the army and getting the hell out of dodge since he couldn't use his power as a cop to throw his sorry ass in jail because technically all Brody and Genna had done was kiss.
Ten years pass before they ever see each other again, and when they do start talking...things just kind of went too fast for me. Also, I hated how Genna allowed her father to dictate everything she did. Things like where she worked, where she lived, who she dated...it was a little ridiculous being under her father's thumb so thoroughly in her late twenties. BUT she does grow a back bone and learns to stand up for herself with the help of a damaged Brody.
Now I must admit that Brody is a scrumptious man. He oozes masculinity and he's a bit boody which I find sexy on a guy. The intensity of his feelings for Genna is breathtaking, and the fact that he listened to her father and joined the army instead of causing trouble for young Genna was commendable and honorable. I felt so heart sick for him over the pain he suffered after losing a member of his SEAL team, and I understood the anger he allowed to consume him so he could protect his heart.
There were a lot of redeeming qualities about this book that still made it a good read and I'm looking forward to reading book 4, A SEAL's Kiss.
First off I want to take a moment to thank Tawny Weber for allowing me to get an ARC copy so that I could bring you this review during her tour dates.
If there ever was a book that was worthy of a book hangover, this one is it. It took me two days to read the whole thing. I just couldn't put it down.
Brody was a badboy in his teen years, who always knew his best friends little sister and the daughter of the town sheriff was off limits, but one night she doesn't care and tries to seduce him. The only thing is things didn't work out as nicely as they both wanted. When her father catches them he doesn't give Brody an option either he joins the Navy or soils his reputation. I would describe him like a filled candy hard outer shell but soft sweet inner center.
Genna has spent her whole life crushing on Brody Lane, one night on a dare she goes off to see him... Only what happens next shapes both their lives for the next 10 years. After the death of her brother Genna decides to contact Brody to let him know about her brothers passing... what she doesn't expect is her reaction when he replies.
The pain that Brody isn't dealing with emotionally is enough to have you crying just knowing the hurt in his heart. It's so much so that he is willing to give up one of the things he loves the most. I have this things about military men who are hurting... I just want to grab them hug them and hold them close to me and take their pain away. And that is exactly what I felt like doing with Brody, Ms. Weber wrote him so well, that it would take a strong hearted person not to want to cry.
Genna... what can I say about her... hmm... Okay at first I wanted to kick her ass, I couldn't believe that she would let guilt and this sense of duty to her family stop her from her happiness. Though yes those are honorable characteristics, it is almost heart-wrenching to see her not fight more. Then thanks to the love that grows and she shares with Brody she does what she should've done many years before. She stands up for herself and tells her family she is going to follow her dream.
This story has one thing that I love and adore most in stories... long lost loves finding each other once again.
I've reviewed the two previous books in this series in the past, and have to say that I loved seeing a few of our old friends in this one as well. And I look forward to reading the next in the series as well.
The only warning I will give before you read this story is that you may gain weight reading it...cause man did I get hungry reading about all of Genna's treats.

This won't be a super long review. Just enough to say how much I love Tawyn Weber. I've got a review schedule of the second book in this series scheduled for March 11 I believe.
Genna - starts out eager to please, needing to make her parents happy to make up for the fact that her brother ended up a total loser, but over the course of Salvation she learns to stand up for what she wants and what she needs. I loved how her obsessive tendency to bake when she's upset (a girl after my own heart, although I'm simply more likely to eat sweets already around than necessarily go to all the trouble of making something else) is the foundation for her drive to start up an actually potentially profitable baking business and to do it in a way that it can accommodate the other changes she's considering making with her life.
Brody - he feels he'll never be more than his drunken father's son, even after he's been away for a decade, having been forced to enlist in the Navy or face trumped-up charges from Genna's father, the local sheriff, after Genna tries to seduce him (that's in the first chapter so I don't consider it a spoiler). He ultimately has never really blamed Genna for his enlistment, and in fact when she writes him about something else, he is willing to engage in a bit of hot (and I do mean hot) flirtation the old-fashioned pen-pal way.
Brody comes home after a mission goes wrong and finally faces down the demons (and Genna) waiting for him in the small town he grew up in. He feels out of place and not worthy of the adoration that so many want to pile on him because he's been recognized by the President for his actions in combat. It's through Genna and his gradual relationship with her that he finally finds a way to heal.
I loved these two on the page together. They both had some heavy burdens they were trying to carry on their own and it was only as they found each other, found ways to be together despite the odds against them, that they managed to deal with their other external problems.
Salvation definitely is the full package - emotional, spiritual (to a minor degree), and character growth all wrapped up in a category-length hot romance novel. You can't ask for much more than that (other than maybe fangs or explosions...but I could just be prejudiced toward that sort of thing - heh).
5 stars for A SEAL's Salvation!
Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Whoever designs Tawny's SEAL covers chooses some seriously hot models. No joke. They're awesome. Plus the shower scene on the front. Yummy!
Now I'm going to ask honestly, who does NOT love the idea of a hot Navy SEAL romance? Alpha males falling in love, and falling hard, for these sassy, independent women? Yeah, it's an often used idea in romance, but wow, Tawny does it and does it well.
I loved the idea of a bad boy being forced into the Navy because of a girl and coming home a hero to most of his home town after a mission gone wrong. I loved that he never forgot the girl. I loved that the girl never forgot him. The story wasn't too involved, but it didn't need to be. It was a shorter novel that was a romance and all the drama inherent in that. The misunderstandings between the couple, outside influences of family and friends, as well as soul-searching by our couple as well. The usual recipe for a great no-frills romance.
I really sympathized with Genna (LOVE that name) who was forced to be the good girl so much her personality was practically buried. I had been the same way growing up a lot. In any case, I understood that and related to her so much because of that. And of course, the fact she couldn't forget the boy she crushed on in High School is also easily to relate to for nearly every woman I've ever met. It's partly why romance so appeals to us.
As for the bad boy turned Bad Ass SEAL, Brody is hot. Tawny Weber's men are always the type to make me claim them for a bit as a book boyfriend. They're my type of hero to lust after. Who doesn't love to read about take charge men who are damaged in some way? I just love it!
Tawny does an excellent job with how she writes characters. Each character, from the main protagonists down to each minor character, has their own unique personality and idiosyncrasies. Each have their own motivations for their actions and sometimes it is obvious. It makes things more realistic this way and one things Tawny does extremely well is characterization.
I read this book quite fast – heck I've read it twice so far – and I loved it. If it were longer and a bit more involved, I'd have rated it that half star higher. As it is, 4.5 stars!
I was lucky enough to win an autographed paper copy of this novel. On my shelf it stays, having earned its place.
I received this book from Harlequin via NetGalley. Thanks Harlequin!!
This book is apart of a theme that Harlequin has going on for the month of February, Sexy Heroes. Each month will have a different theme and I can't wait to see what books are available for each month and then share with you guys what they are about! After I post my review I will show you the picture of what each month's theme is so you'll know a little bit of what to expect!
Okay so I'm pretty sure this book is a part of a series but I didn't feel like I was missing anything by reading it without reading the others. Brody was Genna's brother Joe's best friend and the object of her desire since she had been seventeen, maybe even before. He was off limits though just like she was to him. She knew that her dad would never approve. She was kept under his thumb, doing always what daddy thought was best but she really wanted Brody and she didn't care what daddy thought. That was until daddy caught them in a compromising situation and he sent Brody packing. She hasn't seen him in ten years. She sent him a letter letting him know that her brother had died in jail. That started a little back and forth old school sexting.
Brody didn't want to go back to the place that had never wanted him to begin with. He hadn't looked back since he had been run out of town ten years ago and he was fine with that. Then a mission didn't go as planned and he had to go somewhere to recuperate. Bedford was where he went, his gramma wouldn't have it any other way. Genna is still as pretty and hot as she ever was and her daddy still doesn't want him around her so he does what every man would do, he sees her anyway. He finds out that she's nothing like he thought she was when they were kids. He wants her but he wants her for more than sex.
Watching them just enjoy each other was nice but together they were scorching hot. I loved that he gave her the confidence to stand up for herself to her dad and mom. He gave her the love she so wanted from him and he left it with her, it wasn't a touch and go, it was true and steady. Fantastic book. Check it out and leave the author some love in the form of a review!!!

Uniformly Hot! The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell.
MY REVIEW: Tawny Weber sure knows how to get things heated, in the most complicating, yet extremely worthwhile fashion!
I loved A SEAL’s Salvation. This book started off with a daring and catchy bang, and ended with such a sweet touch that you couldn’t help but love everything about it.
Typical teenage love story turned adult romance? I think not! This was so much more and despite hearing of similar stories, this one was one I couldn’t put down!
Brody is caught “in the act” with the Sherriff’s daughter, who then gives him two choices: join the military, or get kicked out of town and suffer shame on your family. Being the smart guy we learn him to be, he chooses the latter. Ten years later, a lot of memories that refuse to go away and an injury during a mission and guess who has returned home?
Oh yes, baby.
I loved this story, the characters, and everything else about it. I’ve read the first two in the series, but I had to do it again simply because the love Tawny provides to these characters is very evident. Any part of these books will grip you, and it’s very much worth the ride. HIGHLY recommend.
I read this as part of Harlequin's 'Just Can't Get Enough' Campaign.
I really liked the way Brody was portrayed as the resident bad boy - but we were allowed a glimpse inside that showed it was mostly an act. When his best friend's little sister comes on to him one night, he tries to fight it. He thought he had done a good job of staying away from her, even though it wasn't really what he wanted. Unfortunately, soon after he gives in, her sheriff father shows up and reads him the riot act. He allows himself to be run out of town to save Genna any more wrath from her father and to save his grandmother any more embarrassment. It was no surprise to me that he rose to the top as a Navy SEAL.
He thought he has put Genna and the small town prejudices behind him, but after receiving a letter from Genna with sad news about his friend and her brother, he seems compelled to writer her back - and so a flirtation develops through the U.S. Mail. He doesn't think that anything will come of it as he never plans to return - but then a mission goes bad and his grandmother insists he come home to heal. It is his psyche that is more damaged than his body though, and he doesn't think that it will heal anywhere.
While he has been gone, Genna has become friends with his grandmother, and is secretly thrilled that he is returning home. She is still under daddy's watchful eye, and thumb, and is even working for the Mayor in a position that her father 'created' and insisted that she take. It is under this guise that she first visits Brody upon his return home. The sparks fly, but the reunion ends in flames.
I really enjoyed the way the author brought these two back together after their one fateful tryst - and she doesn't make it easy for them. She throws conflict after conflict at them and they have to fight each other, circumstances, and Genna's parents to finally realize what it is they really want.
I can't wait to read A SEAL's Kiss and will be reviewing that for you next month as well as bringing you an interview with the series author - Tawny Weber.
