When my friend suggested this book, I had it on my todo list. I thought this will be one of those books which teaches you breathing techniques and how to relax your body mind and sole etc., so I took my time to get to it. But once I got the book, I was craving to go home after work, waiting to finish my chores to finish the book.
The book is not a typical self-help kind; instead it is full of anecdotes which help you relate to day to day dealings where your reaction to a certain incident can be transformed into something that is more positive. Really nice. There was not religion involve, no preaching involved. It is just a guide to how a human being can make his live positive.
The message is well communicated, and is divided into small chapters for easy reads.
There are versions of this book in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil with record sales to its belt, and has been included as a part of curriculum in schools & colleges.
This book has a lot of good and sound advice having relevance to day-to-day life. Written in simple language with several illustrative stories, this is to be valued as a very useful book of reference.
In lucid language and small chapters, Swami Sukhabodhananda writes in the form of parable about important life lessons from happiness, greed, silence, faith, surrender to love, compassion etc Learning important life lessons becomes easier when Swamiji explains. A book recommended for any age group.
Very inspiring and interesting book. I saw few you tube videos of Swami Sukhbodhananda Ji and came to know about this book in few of his workshop videos. As I liked his videos and the name of the book was quite interesting so I added it in my 'To Read list' and started reading it. It explains everything in a very simple terms and teaches you how to be happy and positive in every situation. Wonderful thing was to understand that how to accept adverse situations in life and sometimes even celebrates them. Anecdotes within this book and any of his workshops can enrich anyone's life. When I started reading this book, i got so much involved that I was waiting all the time to read more and more. I targeted to complete it in 6 days but almost read in half the expected time. I am planning to read it few more times as it's very interesting and can definitely help you to make a better person.
This is one of the most iconic book when I was growing up in India.. The book is about simplifying life. and not to make a problem out of inconsequential things..
I would say .. this is must read to really challenge your outlook and preconceptions. This book could carve a path to spirituality .. think of this as a primer for spirituality.. but also very apt for the current lifestyle.
Spiritual principles of monumental proportions expressed in the most simple form acceptable for the common folk. In 67 chapters Swami Sugabodananda unravels the root causes for life failures and suggests effective solutions to it. Exceptional.
