In Forsaken: Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it's tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he's God's gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing's for sure -- if she doesn't keep her wits about her there'll be hell to pay ...In Forbidden: Riley's beginning to think being a Demon Trapper isn't all it's cracked up to be. Her dad's been stolen by a necromancer, her boyfriend's gone all weird and she's getting warm and fuzzy feelings for someone who's seriously bad news. It's tempting to give it all up and try to be normal, but that's not an option. Because the demons have plans for Riley. And they're not the only ones.

What a surprise! This was such a surprise I picked this up from the library on a whim oooooo pretty cover. Didn't expect much so was pleasantly surprised I loved this book. It had everything in it that made a good book it was exciting, action packed, interesting world, kick ass character's. Why hadn't I heard of this book before !? This had a interesting take on the demon and angels genre. I found it to be very unique and loved the world building. There is so much to this dystopia demon filled world and humans know everything and are involved which was refreshing. Loved that there is different levels of demons loved the little ninja magpie demons so cute!! You also have demon trappers which our main character's are who trap demons for money, then there is demon hunters who just kill the demons really cool intricate world. There is so much to this world I would be here all day explaining everything that goes down in these two books. I liked that though as I found the writing engaging and exciting. I never felt bored I just wanted to know more and more about this world and the secrets it hides. Character's were so interesting Riley our main character is so kick ass but not in an overly confident way she still has a lot of weaknesses. Which we see a lot of in these first two books she makes a lot of mistakes. Some made me want to shake this book but that is what makes her realistic. Love love love BECK he is my favourite character there are so many layers to his character. You can tell there is more to him than meets the eye. There are lots of side character's but won't go into them as I could give stuff away. Overall this was really good and unique can't wait to read the next two books :)
It was a long and entertaining read that I enjoyed a heck load. If you like romance with action and comedy, this is the book for you (or books, however you like to call it)
(2.5 stars) Ok, I liked this book. Many of the element in it were very unique and the entire angels and demon section of this story is well written and planned. However overall the books synopsis is pretty similar to Mortal Instruments- Basically there is a teenage girl who joins a group which is devoted to hunting demons, obviously, there is an unfortunate love triangle and the rest is history. The love triangle wasn’t too badly written and almost seemed believable. Although one serious downfall is the continuous presence of unhappiness, right from the very start nearly every single character in the book is either sad (or at the very beginning angry) I found that this made it hard to connect with the characters, I felt like I didn’t even know what they were like when they were happy. I also felt like the world building itself was quite minimal, even though it was kind of set in present day (kind of)I still felt like I needed some more info on the world, but the descriptions of the demons themselves are highly commended. Overall I won’t be going specifically searching for the next books in this series (The Demon Trappers) but if I saw them on the shelf at a store I would probably consider picking it up, just to see how everything turns out.
Good story but so much of the dialogue and inner thoughts were corny. Riley says a few things out loud to herself that just didn't make much sense. Why are you talking to yourself, Riley? A lot of plot points felt rushed, and the romances weren't convincing. I lost count of how many times hot chocolate was mentioned. .. I dunno, there were a lot of problems with this two-story book, but being this author's first novel, I can imagine she improved from this point on.
