The Sweetest Visit

Rate this book
I never meant for it to go this far.

I was adopted and raised in the kind of family that most people dream of. Love, fights and forgiveness nearly smothered us whole, and it was wonderful.

But I just can't shake the desire to know where I came from, and I'm terrified of hurting the woman who gave me everything.

So volunteering to live with my grandmother when she was diagnosed with Ahlzheimers was a no-brainer. I can work from anywhere, and while taking care of her, I can do research on my roots without hurting those I love most.

Getting thrown together in a town project with a man I chewed out only a couple weeks...definitely not in the plans.

It doesn't help that his kindness makes my stomach flip and his gaze turns my cheeks into heaters. I have a plan and getting attached to a handsome face in a small town isn't it. At all. Nope. Not even a little bit.

Heaven help me, but I can't focus on my past and my future at the same time...now I need to figure out which one of them is more important.

A wonderful, uplifting story of dealing with hardships
This story follows two people both of whom are dealing with hardships. Micah became an oncologist to try and cure his older sister but he was too late and he lost her. Now he is hiding from anyone who knows his tragedy in a small town medical practice, trying to out run his sense of failure. Eden has moved into that same small town to care for her grandmother who has dementia. Every day she sees the grandmother she adores slip a little farther away and feels the loss. She also is hiding a secret from her grandmother and the rest of her family. She was adopted and is now searching for her birth mother. She fears her family will be hurt when they find out, she doesn’t want to hurt them but feels the need to do the search. When Eden and Micah meet it does not go well yet they still feel drawn to each other. As life goes on and they find themselves thrown together secrets come out and need to be dealt with. But secrets like they are keeping have the power to destroy their new relationship if they can’t work together and strengthen each other. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. When Micah puts his heart into something, he does it completely. I loved reading how he stood by and supported Eden even when it was something that was hard for him. I enjoyed Eden’s vivacious personality. It was complementary to Micah’s calm. Overall the romance was believable and had me cheering for them. If you have enjoyed the other books in this series, you will love this one.

Eden sure did make a first impression on Micah. These two were definitely drawn to each other at the very first but secrets could keep them apart. Both have heartaches that color their present and possibly their future. When the angst began I grew anxious as to how the author would work it all out and she did an amazing job. Loved the grand gesture at the end - sweet but full of fire. Looking forward to book 8. Can't wait to read Estelle's book - please let her have one.

Doctor Micah Bridgewater bought a medical practice in Seagull Cove and literally ran away from the pain of his older sisters death. Edan is a professional genealogist, secretly searching for her birth mother while caring for her grandmother while she quickly declines with Alzheimer's disease. When the two meet, sparks fly in many ways. This sweet tale of loss, hurt and healing has wonderful characters and a community of support.

Micah and Eden’s story is a swoon-worthy, sigh-filled delight to read. Believable, real-life issues intrude, keeping the story moving and allowing the characters to grow. Couples from earlier books provide fun back-stories while helping Micah and Eden find their way to each other. Love and Highly Recommend this book and series! I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Such a great town!

Both Eden and the doc had a lot in common. Doc lost his sister to cancer, and he became a doctor to help but she passed away right as he was ready to help. He moved to a small city to have a fresh start. Eden came to town to help her grandma. It was love at first sight!
