Using Thermometers

Whenever you need to know the temperature of something, use a thermometer. Readers are introduced to the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales and a variety of thermometer types, including digital thermometers, spring thermometers, and maximum-minimum thermometers. Safety tips, labeled photographs, and an experiment in which readers use thermometers to study how temperatures vary throughout the day are included.

About the author

Lorijo Metz lives with her husband and little brown dog in the great state of Indiana. Though she has a degree in acting and directing, she much prefers the anonymity of the keyboard, allowing her characters to revel in the spotlight while she sits quietly sipping tea or coffee, nibbling on cookies, and dreaming up ways to complicate their lives.
