His friends are happy to share, but when Albert borrows more and more, it's up to his big sister, Wanda, to help him find out what it really means to be "happy to share!" Every Mouse Math title includes back matter activities that support and extend reading comprehension and math skills, plus free online activities. (Math concept: Ordinal Numbers)
Albert is making muffins, but is having trouble locating the ingredients in their house so he asks his neighbors to share. They kindly do, and Wanda makes sure Albert does something similar after the muffins are done baking.
This story employs a lot of ordinal numbers (first, second, third, etc.) as Albert gathers the ingredients, and then shares the finished muffins. The educational aspect of the story is couched nicely in an engaging story of a mouse a little too willing to let others share, and has a lesson to learn about sharing himself.
This book teaches about math concepts (like first, second, third, etc.) as well as about baking (gathering ingredients and the general baking process). The illustrations and general plotline are cute.
