First time reading anything from this series and written by William H. Keith Jr. Even though this is marked as nr6 on the series it stands as a standalone. So if you come by it by chance, as it happened to me, you can and should pick it up. This was a lot of fun and was a legit well constructed adventure. It certainly made me want read more of the series!
This is the 6th book in the Star Drive series but as I said about some of the other books in this series it can be read as a stand alone book because it is set in the Star Drive universe but is otherwise not c0onnected to the other books. This book is by one of my favorite authors, William H. Keith a.k.a. Ian Douglas. In this one Spacer, who lives in the underground city of Tribon, is a gang member and a small time thief and scam artist. He meets a newly docked Starship and picks a mark from the new passengers. He picks the wrong mark however because after picking the man's pocket he comes into possession of information that several agencies want. He witnesses the man being murdered and has not only the killers after him but the local police also. He decides to find the man's associates and return the info and along with them he travels to another planet to unravel the secrets of an ancient alien civilization and find out what the killers are after there also. This is a good read in the Space Opera genre and I recommend it to those fans who like Space Opera and fans of William H. Keith a.k.a. Ian Douglas. .
Loved it, it's thought-provoking, and fun, the way it uses card-reading like I've never experienced before. Absolutely amazing, leaves me wanting more from the author.
