Behind the calls for women’s right to choose, gender equality, and female empowerment lies the ugly truth that men have used abortion to subjugate and exploit women for decades. Forty years after Roe v Wade, our culture that believes abortion elevates women and men have no voice. But the opposite is true. This book brings men face to face with the part they’ve played in the legalization and propagation of abortion in America and issues a clarion call to help bring an end to the world’s most grievous holocaust.
Either life begins at conception (and science tells us it does; that is not up for debate) or it doesn't (which isn't the case). My heart bleeds for women who are deceived by the lie that what they are doing isn't murdering their own sons and daughters. In a time when we struggle with the value of lives, black, white, police, poor, etc., we must ask ourselves, does every live matter? If they do, we believe in the sanctity of live, all life; if not, how can any life matter? This book faces that issue without apology.
The only reason this earned four stars from me rather than five is it tended to be repetitive in places. There is so much valuable information here as well as a call for men to find their voice in an issue that involves more than just women.
Just another crappy book written by a man trying to convince women that having no legal right to bodily autonomy is "feminist" and in their "best interests".
As a post-abortive woman, I found this book incredibly encouraging; and yet, if I were a man, I’d probably find it tremendously challenging. Tracing the history of the feminist movement, Fisher minces no words yet speaks from the heart when he argues that abortion is not “a women’s issue” but rather a parental issue, a societal issue…and stems from the age-old problems of greed, blame, and self-interest. Fisher has set out, in a bold but compassionate manner, to challenge men who are designed by their Creator to be protectors while our society (both men and women) have manipulated and twisted the roles of both genders to the point where women are killing their unborn children and celebrating the “right” of their victimization. According to Fisher, “Men started it. Men oppress with it. Men can end it.” I applaud Brian Fisher for his courage, passion, and determined efforts to put an end to the exploitation of women occurring through the vicious practice of abortion. If you are a woman, read this book to gain an even greater understanding and man’s perspective on the issue, then share it with the men in your life. If you are a man, I implore you to read this book and take ownership of abortion as not just “a women’s issue.” Fisher offers decisive, practical ways for men to take action, and particularly encourages men who’ve personally lost children to abortion to speak up and share their stories. They need to be heard. Men: we need your voice.
The title of the book comes from feminist, Alice Paul, who drafted the Equal Rights Amendment in 1923: "The ultimate exploitation of women". It's interesting to read that the early feminists were against abortion. Excellent book that every man....and woman should read.
This is a tough subject to read about, and there were a few tears whilst reading, but I'm so glad that I read it! This book focuses, not on the science of life at conception or on the moral ethics involved (although those are briefly touched on), but on the political agenda of pro-abortionists, and the real destructive consequences of abortion to both men and women. While exposing the lies that the media, politicians, and society would have us believe, the author manages to give a powerful message of hope in the midst of darkness!
This book proves that legalized abortion is oppressing women through historical analysis, medical facts and statistics, logical arguments, and personal stories. There are quotes from politicians, historians, doctors, feminists, philanthropists, presidents, and judges on all sides of the issue from the last 200 years of history.
Most of the time the pro-abortionists' own words condemn them and their political pursuits to support abortion. People are so ignorant of the true motives behind the legalization of abortion- eugenics, racism, and the continued oppression of women. The media don't want you to know the true facts, the evidence of history and case law, or the science behind abortion and its after-effects. I wish everyone would read this book. It would open your eyes.
An important book for men to read. Download it on the Kindle. Read it, understand it and live it. This book is filled with the Truth with a capital, bold and underlined "T"
This book was a tough read because there really isn't a tougher subject than the murder of innocent babies, or long list of other ways men have exploited women, or how women have been hopelessly deceived. Tragically, this book is filled with facts and statistics that underline just how perverse this evil is, and how connected it is to other great sins. But the book was also filled with hope- we can end this tragic travesty if we stand together. We can redeem the past by using it as a call to action. We can and should do so, not only for the babies, but also for the mothers and father and families as a whole.
"if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Fantastic book on the topic. Enlightening. A must read for all who are against the killing of innocent lives. And a book that will challenge every pro-abortion believer - though I doubt many will read it through.
This book is really encouraging to fight against abortion. Exposes clearly and well ordered the situation, causes, effects and actions related to this topic. We get support for claiming this issue as everybody's issue, not only women's. Discover facts related to poblation control and eugenics. A very gentle writing from this author. Totally recommended
As a men’s advocate and mentor at a local crisis pregnancy center I was interested to read this book. It is loaded with history, statistics, and real world testimonies. But more important is the call to be involved. More mature men of faith are needed to mentor young caught in a crisis of their own design,
Lots of good info, but at the end, I had a hard time putting into words why abortion translates to exploitation. I could do a little, and maybe if I read it again now I would do much better.
Brian Fisher lays out some compelling arguments for the abolition of abortion in America, both from a cultural/societal standpoint and a Christian standpoint, but some of his societal arguments are more compelling. Presenting our current male-dominated rape culture as the catharsis behind the so-called women-empowering right to choose abortion over life is eye-opening and convicting. As a man who has had two of his own children killed by abortion, this book touches my heart and informs me that I need to do more than just say that abortion is wrong and to grieve for my lost children - I need to accept responsibility for their deaths and make them mean something by actively opposing abortion and by helping post-abortive men and women to heal from their wounds, and to help those who choose life to give every opportunity to the children they bring into the world. Thank you, Mr. Fisher, for opening my eyes and for speaking plainly to the heart of this issue in a loving and straight-forward manner.
This book provides a well-formed argument that abortion exploits women--not liberates them as some modern day feminists seem to suggest. Men have played a prominent role in that exploitation. Brian Fisher explores how men have played a prominent role in the growth of the abortion industry--both in leadership roles and behind the scenes--and gives clear concrete advice on how men can and should reverse the process.
Men started it, men oppress with it and men can help end it.
