Murder, blackmail, and a female werewolf running loose in Yellowstone Park
Private investigator Sara Flores has found a lot of missing women since she was turned werewolf. But this case is a mess.
A young woman has disappeared. She was seeking evidence her father was murdered 11 years ago… That he didn’t die in a Wyoming snowstorm because he was too drugged and too stupid to find shelter.
Sara races from Big Sky to the Crow Rez to Yellowstone Park, trying to find the girl before she meets her father’s fate.
But the man behind her kidnapping has a billion-dollar money machine to protect. Nobody’s dared to cross him in 20 years — at least nobody alive to tell about it. Not the girl’s dead father. Not Congress. Hell, not even the last three U.S. Presidents.
Did you ever want to be more than yourself? I always have. As a kid, I imagined I lived up in the clouds with a band of other kids. We would swoop down — because we could fly! — and rescue people in trouble. And we’d beat the crap out of their abusers. When I got older, I became obsessed with crime and mysteries. I wanted to know how someone could track down evil doers and peel back their false faces — exposing them to the world.
The day I quit my corporate job — my dreams came true. Today I spend my days throwing my character, Sara Flores, at one criminal mastermind after another — just to see what she can do.
And… I cheated. I let her be more than herself by making her a werewolf — the only magical creature in a world otherwise just like ours. Because I wanted to see what she could do with a wolf’s senses and strength. And wildness.

I really enjoy this Author's writing and this main character. This is another great continuation of the Flores Series, where a lopidy man is killed, bit authorities call it an accident. 10 yrs later his 18 yr old daughter goes to the Yellowstone area to find the truth and she suddenly disappears. Flores is called in to investigate. Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.
Otto Hawking was tied and wrapped in a blanket, having trouble thinking and coordinating his movements, not that he would be able to move anyway when bound this way. He struggled for breath and tried to laugh a few times. His head slammed into something and he watched the pretty stars that caused. When the snowmobile stopped, dumped him and threw him into the snow. The man was about to kick Otto but stopped, saying he couldn’t leave marks. The drug they had given him was making him sick. He was given another dose and his cell phone was smashed. Then the man drove away, leaving him in Yellowstone to die… which may be soon since he hears the howling of a wolf pack. He prayed to his spirit animal, the wolf, to take care of his little girl. Then he died.
Sara Flores became a private investigator after she became a werewolf – although she keeps that part secret from her clients. She had been turned by Joe White Wolf, a Lupiti shaman who had died before he could tell her about my new situation. Now she saves women who need rescue. Her latest case is a missing woman, Dakota, who had seen visions of her father in a snowstorm and went looking for evidence that he had been murdered 11 years previously. So Sara is heading to Yellowstone Park to find her before she dies as her father did. Would questioning Emily Hawking give Sara any leads? Would she be able to find Dakota? Or would the evil man who kidnapped Dakota make sure she wouldn’t?
This series is fun! Action-packed and suspenseful, with paranormal elements and vigilante justice. Sara and her colleagues go after bad guys that seem too big and well-monied to take down. Sara's investigative team is really hitting their stride in this book now that they have successfully worked on a few big cases together. Told in multiple POVs of the ensemble cast, Denver handles these transitions well, and it is clear who is who. Each POV has a compelling storyline: Sara in both human and wolf forms, Connor, who faced significant danger, and I enjoyed seeing a different side to tech wizard Mason in this one. Mason is usually wisecracking and super competent, but his softer side comes out when faced with a family issue. I loved the Yellowstone setting, which was very atmospheric, with the blizzard bearing down on them. Quick-reading and entertaining, I enjoy seeing this werewolf and her friends restoring justice one takedown at a time!
What a terrific read! Man oh man—Sue Denver knocked this one right out of the park! This one is practically nonstop action from start to finish. What a unique twist…a werewolf P.I.! Wow…it just gets better and better.
The storyline is absolutely incredible; the characters are totally amazing AND unique; the plot twists and turns are truly off the charts; and while there isn’t an actual HEA because this isn’t a romance novel per se, it WILL tug at your heartstrings. This book definitely deserves to be on your TBR list! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally mesmerized by it!) ❤️❤️
Book 3, it might help to read the previous books to gain better insight into PI Sara's character. Nonetheless, the story itself works as a standalone. Sara is hired to investigate a vision and a missing woman. The story switches perspectives to show an overall view of the narrative, providing readers with their thought process and motivation. As Sara attempts to hide her werewolf self from others and investigate, there are incidents that affect those close to home. This is a slow-burn story revolving around the characters featured.
I received a free copy and am leaving a review voluntarily. Thank you to Hidden Gems Books and author.
Sue Denver has a hit on her hands. This is Book 3 but she has several other books about Sara Flores, all of them are excellent. In this one Sara and her team are working to find the wealthy men who think they can take young women whenever they see one they want. Sara winds up living with a wolf pack in Yellowstone almost forgetting that she is human. Connor gets stabbed and almost dies. It is touch and go. I’m so glad I discovered Sue Denver because all of her books are terrific. So now I’m off to read #1 in this series “Werewolf for Hire.” Somehow I got out of synch but no matter the storyline is excellent.
I listened to the audiobook version of this fascinating, wellwritten, action/PNR mystery. It was quite the adventure! This is a continuation of the Sara Flores werewolf series - though could be read/listened to as a standalone story. It was very intense and realistic (well, as realistic as a werewolf story can be!)- I still can feel the freezing cold of the Montana winter that is the setting of the story! Brrrr! The characters are intense, deep and i teresting! The storyline was non- stop! This is another 5 star from Sue Denver and thoroughly enjoyable!!
Wow! I "discovered" Sue Denver's Werewolf PI series four days ago and have been devouring this series since then. Love the way the characters are developing and growing and can't wait for their next challenge. At some point I suspect that the rest of the team will learn about Sara's secret, either directly or indirectly, and will handle it just fine. I also like how Sue Denver addresses current day issues in her stories. We need more Loup Garous and computer genius and good people looking to do the right thing. Bravo!
This was a good read. I am not much for the werewolf/vampire books, but this is not overdramatic. The plot lines are well developed and kept me up past my bed time. Yellowstone is nearby and I can relate well to the cold in the story.
It is consistent and well research so the setting is realistic. The technology is a bit of over-reach, but it is almost believable. The character development is well done and the characters are believable. Sue was careful not to over anthropomorphize the wolves.
She is a female werewolf who is looking for missing women in Yellowstone. It will not be an easy job as she tries to find all the clues she needs to find out what happened. How will she get in? Can she find the clues needed? Can she find the missing women? Follow her to see how she gets on I received an advance copy from hidden gems and I want to review
Great book! Over the last several days I have binge read every book in this series I could find. Has been a wonderful trip through Sara and her crews adventures. Can't wait for the next book in this series. Still have 1 short story to read. Will get to it in a few minutes.
I wish I had friends like these! The funny thing is that the first book I was made aware of by Amazon was the third one, so then I back tracked and found the other two, so I could read them in order. That went way too quick, so now I’m needing the 4th book! I’ll have to find the shorter stories in the meantime, can’t get enough of these characters!
These three books were the best I have read in awhile. I know I have read just as good but I feel very privileged to get to find this author's works. I am a wolf fanatic and have pictures I have made of beautiful wolves. They are my spirit animal and feel amazed at learning so much about wolves from these.
I read this book in sequence to the previous one and following the series. The stories are different from your normal type book, but these are very easy to read and thoroughly enjoyable and I look forward to reading further books by this author.
Vigilante justice at it's finest!!! Wow!!! Action, heart warming and heart stopping. What would you do if you could help the helpless? Sara and her team go above and beyond, and I can't wait to join them all again!!! Don't wait, grab this book, you'll love it too!!!
This is the 3rd in the series, and I can't wait for the next book. Sara pulls her friends in to help find a missing girl and solves an eleven-year-old murder while she is at it. I love how well the characters are developed. They are all full people not just things to move the story along.
I’ve enjoyed all the books. This one provides more depth and rounds out relationships. The series is excellent. Slightly different take on werewolves works well
I love the characters, the plot and the interaction. I question the information on fracking and the resulting conclusions. More research and objectivity is reccommended. The information on wolves is absolutely true!
Excellent reading again! I enjoyed this one even more, than the two prior. Needless to say that I will be reading all you have written or will write. Thanks again for many hours of reading enjoyment.
I feel like I was missing some information. The last half seemed jumpy and took a lot of concentration to follow. But the plot and premise were intriguing and I might check out the earlier books.
