Haunted by the terrible secret which haunted his soul, Michael McKevett, the maker of carousels, had sworn on his beloved Irish soil never to give up his dreams. Not the blood on his hands nor the anguish and rage that lived in his heart would stop him.

Even though he had sacrificed everything, lost the woman he loved to another man, Michael was determined to carve his dreams into reality and wrest control of his destiny from those who would destroy him....

CAITLIN O'LEARY--the voluptuous redhead who bore Michael's son and betrayed her heritage with his enemy.
MASON ARMFIELD--the English aristocrat who had the power to end Michael's life with one command.
ANNIE O'BRIEN--the golden-haired beauty who trapped the one man who could never love her into a marriage of hate and destruction.

From the green hills of Ireland to the shores of America, one man pursued his vision of greatness, rebuilding all her had lost into a towering monument to last forever....

Michael McKevett's story takes place in Ireland before and through the Potato Famine. It is a beautifully written story of Family tradgy and true Love. This story was originally published twenty five years ago. This story really touched my heart.

While this is not the sort of book I would normally read (usually sticking to thrillers and contemporary romances), I found myself having to slow down and make sure I read each and every word, and try to race ahead to find out what happened. A fantastic story that keeps you entertained and spellbound by the beautiful world that has been created. It really had my emotions in an upheaval (I was ready to reach into the book and punch Annie in the face - what a nasty piece of work!!!) Great read!
