“But that was the good thing about Christmas trees, they never judged. They just stood in the corner, looking all stately and wonderful, reminding you that it was the most wonderful time of the year and that all would be well.”
Drama seems to follow Angela Clark around everywhere she goes and for once, she's actually trying to avoid it. It's Christmas time! No such luck though. Humor, conflict, an interesting look at the many roles women have to juggle, and plenty of holiday spirit all balance each other out and make I Heart Christmas an enjoyable addition to Lindsey Kelk's I Heart series.

My favorite quote:
"Christmas makes everything better, even hipsters."
"Nothing makes hipsters better."

The I Heart series includes the following installments as of December 2018.
#1-I Heart New York
#2-I Heart Hollywood
#3-I Heart Paris

Genre: Chick Lit

Having read this entire series with the exception of the newest release (which is now live, SQUEE) I have to say that I feel like Angela is a close friend of mine. I have gone through this journey with her as she crossed the pond, found love, landed a great job, was blessed with an amazing cast of friends, and went through plenty of mishaps (which I might add, are simply hilarious). So it feels a little bittersweet that there is only one more book in the series (so far...). Sigh. I just love her and everyone within these stories that I don't want them to end. BUT, I am very glad I have read these books because they are a lot of fun.

In this one, readers will find that the holidays- even though they are favorites of Angela's- are much more hectic than one would hope. With getting a prime position at her job, moving to a new home, and trying to keep her friends from making drastic and life changing decisions, Angela isn't taking it all so well. Even though she really, REALLY loves Christmas. Readers will take the plunge with Angela as she helps those in need and quietly cries about the everything going on around her... There will be fun. There will be laughter. And there will be many moments where you may want to drag yourself into the book and slap her, but it's all in good fun.

Fans of the I Heart series, if you haven't read this one, you should! It's another perfect example of how chick lit novels should be read. If you haven't read the series and you love chick lit, this entire series is a must read! But make sure you read them in order as they need to be in order to understand the story line and events.

Christmas books are seriously the best. Christmas is one of my favorites holidays so any story around the happy and loving holiday can't be bad. On top of it being a "Christmas" story, Lindsey Kelk wrote it.

This is a book series so I highly recommend reading the other books before reading this. Lindsey Kelk is one of my favorite Chick Lit writers. She's hilarious and fun, always going to have a good time reading her books.

The reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because some scenes in the book were a little too stupid and annoying... not sure if I'm just getting old and grumpy but I would still recommend this book series and book regardless.

This book is a perfect vacation/beach/plane read. It's fun, quick, and doesn't make you think too deeply.

Yessss! A bit of Christmas schmush! Not too cheesey (quite cheesey though) and utterly ridiculous and somewhat funny!
I'm hard to win over in this genre because I cringe at romance and cliche but this book was funny enough and good enough to make me love it - I do have a heart! (It's hidden a lot of the time heehee)

Read it for the #ohwhatfunreadathon for the challenge: read a book with a white spine. Unfortunately, this series became very tropey, always dealing with the romance bits more than anything else. Angela is married now, no need to keep pushing with the romantic sub-plot! It didn't feel Christmassy or cozy. I just don't care about the sidekick characters in this series, but they've got too much screen time, know what I mean? 😒 Moving on to the next book for the readathon, hope it's better 🤞

fter finally getting married, Angela is looking forward to her first married Christmas in New York.

However, Jenny has gone baby balmy, Alex makes a massive change for them...without telling her or at least hinting to the change, then she finds herself having to be in charge of Gloss and Spencer Media as Mary gets married landing her with a ton of work as well as Cici showing up to be her new assistant!

Oh yeah, her parents are also flying in to spend Christmas with her too!

I am so sad to finish this series as I feel these books are alike the shopaholic series Sophie Kinsella wrote. That's why I love them! Fashion, love and a healthy dose of drama which in this book keeps on coming once again. I liked that a lot of the characters are growing up so much on term of wanting to settle down with kids and Angela is still the same driven woman she has blossomed into and is so invested in her career still.

You would think that by now, in book 6, Angela would have learned at least something from her past mistakes. But in my opinion she really didn’t and that was rather disappointing. In this one she still was her annoying, old self. I’m kind of over it by now.

My review

This is book six in the series, you could read it as a standalone but I would read the previous so you know the backstory and appreciate it more. So things are going well for Angela, she is married to the stunning Alex. The magazine is going well and finally they are going to have a week off to be together and enjoy each others company, what could go wrong.

As always there is drama, family issues, relationship & friendship themes and all set in the run up to Christmas. An old nemesis raises their head and some things that have been in the past needs dealt with.

I thought Angela was a wee bit selfish in parts at this and if she had just dealt with how she was feeling and what she wanted so much would be avoided. Then it wouldn't have made for a good story though eh and people don't always do the most sensible action we, the reader, would have.

If you want to leave your life behind for a wee while then Angela and co provide that for you. Relatable for some of the issues, particularly the family/plans for Christmas. 3.5/5 for me this time, I think I have another one or two on the tbrm by this author.

4 Stars.

is is the first of the Lindsey Kelk, I Heart…. books that I have actually read (there are 5 previous all of which are on my TBR), but as soon as I saw Christmas in the title I knew I wanted to read it. So I requested a copy of the ARC from Netgalley, and happily Harper Collins approved it.

Angela’s planning her very own fairytale of New York…

• Enormous Christmas tree

This book is classic chick lit, with lots of fun and laughs thrown in while Angela tries to navigate her way through Christmas, and various dramas and disasters that occur along the way. Some of the dialogue and situations actually had me laughing out loud, and I really enjoyed the secondary characters in the book. Special mention would go to James and Angela’s Mum, whose fascination with James Bond is bordering on stalkerish.

I must admit I feel I have missed out on a great series after reading this the 6th installment, before reading 1-5 of the I Heart Series, however I didn’t feel at any point in the story that I should have read the previous books due to missing out on the story, this book is fine to be read as a stand-alone.

Another great Christmas read.

It's been far too long since I have read a Lindsey Kelk book! My return to her work, I Heart Christmas, did not disappoint! What a fun read to finish my holiday books.
Angela has always been one of my beloved characters. I loved her in I Heart New York, I Heart Vegas just to name a few.
This poor British girl can never seem to keep herself away from drama or out of some sort of trouble! I thought once she married Alex maybe she would settle into life and things would run more smoothly, BOY WAS I WRONG!
Angela is hoping to have the best Christmas ever in Brooklyn - but that may not be in the cards this season!
The tree was a little bit of a surprise, she has had several surprise guests and Alex has surprised her as well.
And what word has Alex brought up? The B word! You guessed it! BABY! He is ready to go, but what about poor Angela?
There are twists and turns around each corner and you will love our beloved characters that join us in this fun Christmas tale - Jenny Lopez, Louisa, Alex, James and many more (oh and did I mention an evil character from her past may return, MY LIPS ARE SEALED)!
Grab a bottle of wine, sit back and enjoy this wild and crazy ride! Lindsey does not disappoint!

Reading about Angela Clark and her unintentionally crazy life is like reading a best friend's diary. Not that I ever would read someone's diary! Just in a 'this fictional character feels like a friend and I'm catching up on her life' way.

True to form, Angela does not make things easy for herself in I Heart Christmas and, to make things worse, trouble just has a funny way of finding her!

I loved this latest (and hopefully not the last?) instalment in Angela's story and I loved being back in her world, which was made all the better by the Christmas theme. All of the usual bunch were there, including Alex, the most patient, loving, romantic man I think there's ever been! It's a pity that he's already married, and, you know, not real!

This book was another really good installment in the series. At this point, I'm attached to the characters and really enjoy hearing what they're up to. I loved the deeper element and conversation around infertility in this book. I really am rooting for Angie and Alex and love seeing them work out their issues. With that being said, I don't like how in these stories if there is a fight, the people disappear and completely cut off contact for a period of time. I still haven't softened to Jenny- she still sucks- but I think she's being put in her place a little more. I thought there was a lot of pushing and manipulation for Angie and I wish she would've stood up for herself a little bit more. Overall, I'm still really enjoying this series and I'm excited to see how it wraps up.

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Alex and Angie are married and happy in general. However, the baby issue is still unresolved. He's ready for kids and she's not. Jenny wants to have a baby and be a single mom so she tricks Angie into going to the OBGYN to get checked out with her. Jenny gets a clean bill of health, but we find out Angie may have some issue. She doesn't have many healthy eggs and some hormone levels are off, so fertility may be a struggle for her. She sort of just avoids it and doesn't share it with Alex. As time goes on, the issue divides them and they have a fight and he disappears for awhile. He comes back with a grand sweeping gesture that was really sweet, I just wish it would've been handled a little more maturely. Jenny decides to have a baby with Angie's gay movie star friend, but in the end she decides to wait a little bit and see if she can find Mr. Right. In addition. Angie's parents come to NYC for Christmas. The Christmas vibes are alright in this. There are a lot of Christmas mentions, but I didn't necessarily feel it all the time.

My favourite Chick lit series by far is the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk, each year I look forward to another release and to top it off this year it is a Christmas themed book whoop whoop! This is not a book you will be able to buy and save until Christmas as it sits there twinkling at you so you have to cave in and read it!

As Christmas approaches Angela is like a kid in a sweet shop, she is so excited about all things Christmas that she decides to take time off of work to enjoy doing all things festive with Alex. If only everything was a smooth as that! Where ever Angela is concerned there is always disorder and mischief that occurs and true to form her Christmas is about to be turned upside down thanks to a surprise from husband Alex, a friend in need and to top it all a major change at work.

I loved this book so much. The witty humour is back in full swing and it is such a natural humour that you can’t help but chuckle away. All of our favourite characters are back and in full blown chaos. One thing you can always rely on is that Angela and Jenny will always have some big drama going on in their lives and it sure does keep me entertained. Angela and Alex are now married and I think this is a great direction in which Lindsey Kelk has taken her characters as they are now facing problems that come with settling down.

We get to see a lot more of Angela’s friend Louisa in this book and she is a loveable character. Jenny is still my firm favourite when it comes to the I Heart series she is so unpredictable, spontaneous and hilarious, I would do anything to have a friend like her life could never be dull with her around! I actually found I could relate to Angela’s character in this book ( is this a good thing?!) one of the dilemma’s she faces I can totally sympathise with and the article she wrote about on this topic was hitting the nail on the head for me.

There was a festive feel to this book with the storyline being set on the lead up to Christmas but it wasn’t overly festive so I still feel like this book could be read throughout the year. I still don’t feel like the I Heart series is over, to me this book has actually set a new foundation for a new book and I am keeping everything crossed that the author does entertain us with another one. This is cetainly one not to be missed and needs to be under all chick lit fans Christmas Tree this year.

It is a fun , festive, fabulous read that you will want to tell all your book friends about but I am not sure you will want to share your copy!

You know it’s bad when there’s feminism on the first page.
Another badly written, boring work from Lindsey Kelk the self-acclaimed Tweet fanatic (typical). She needs to expand her vocabulary and stop writing in weak prose fit for a preteen. It’s mentally tiring and utterly disappointing. Disgusting content and the demonisation of Christianity in a book supposedly about Christmas? Come on. You wouldn’t have Christmas at all without it.

The story follows ‘adulting’ Angela, an air-headed, married, British woman in her thirties whom is still chugging alcohol like pop and binge watching trash TV at 3am. She also works for SM Gloss magazine (centred mostly around trashy celebrity gossip) and not only turns up to work drunk/hungover, but eyes up men despite being married, argues with her coworkers, dresses inappropriately, drinks on the job and hides in the toilets to cry and eat chocolate. What an absolute embarrassment. And a mess. It’s not even funny to write a character this devastatingly pathetic. The author is likely modelling Angela after herself.

Why is the word Nazi casually thrown in when Angela gets picky with the tree decorations? Tact and class are two things this author lacks. The same with her usage of OD. There is also offensive content about religion. Making fun of self-harming in a book that’s allegedly happy is also pretty disgusting.

The attitudes of the people in this book are that work is superior to family, friends and actual responsibilities in life to yourself and other people. Oh, but it’s of course not more important than getting blackout drunk at work, after work, on a lunch break and sending people GoT memes. It’s like her marriage doesn’t even exist. The absolute BETA Alex is (typical feminist writer) is ignored, ordered around and in so little of the book. They don’t spend time together but can happily spend money. She won’t talk to her parents and doesn’t have any sort of meaningful relationship with anyone.

This book is just bad. No, it’s terrible. It’s a big old dog turd on the face of literature. Don’t waste your time on it. Like with one of her other books, I forced myself through this because I knew I would enjoy writing the dreadful review for it. This isn’t even worth publishing.

Even though this is supposed to be based around Christmas, I prefer "iheart Forever" for the xmas scene.

This book almost feels like a filler in the series, but Lindsey Kelk touches on a sensitive subject, which I feel a lot of writer's are not brave enough to discuss. Babies... Should we have them? What happens if we can't? What happens if we can, but we want to wait? Should we have a check up to see if everything's working ok? Should we freeze our eggs?

I heard that freezing your eggs can cost about 10,000 USD... but that's still not as much as what some schools charge per year, and we're not even talking about clothes and food yet. This conversation is extended into the next book, "iheart Forever", where Angela is sitting with her friend's kid and nanny. Suddenly the reality and cost of living, really hits home.

If you would rather read about all the fun stuff of having kids, and all the dreamy cute things you could buy, then I would recommend, "Shopaholic and Baby" by Sophie Kinsella, instead. She goes into great detail about all the temptations and adorable cute outfits her mini me should wear. However, if you want a little dose of reality, where you can worry together with Angela about whether or not having a baby is doable or not, then this series is for you.

This book is where Angela leaves her 20's and turns 30 years old. The big three o. When I turned thirty, I also questioned how healthy I was and what I can do to make myself healthier and happier. However, there was a part of me that felt like all that effort I put in at the gym was to have a fertile uterus. That I was just a walking baby making machine on standby, ready to be impregnated.

Angela is really in her element when it comes to Christmas. However, it does not turn out the way she planned it.

Louisa turns up unexpected, her parents want to visit over Christmas and Alex finally wants to settle down. He buys them a house, so the stress already starts with having to move in Christmas time, and how are they going to move the Christmas tree?

Louisa has trouble in her married life and tries to escape it. Angela has difficulties to find out why she came to NY and then wants to help Louisa, but she is blocking.
And then there is Jenny of course. The drama between the three girls creates new turns in the story all the times. They have such different personalities and that’s not always a good thing. However, in the end I really admired their friendship.

Alex and Angela have some real troubles and fights in this book. He really wants to have a baby, but she doesn’t and there is more…
I still don’t like Angela not telling him everything. They way they take after everything is so adorable though and again I love Alex being so caring and cute. He exactly knows how to treat Angela and only wants the best for her.

This story is full of drama, a lot of funny incidents and Christmas of course. The book really got my into the festive mood. Lindsey’s writing is so sparkling and dynamic.

So, this year, Angela's desperately planning her fairytale Christmas of New York, to really romantically do it up grand but everything seems to be a grand screw up for this British lass since the season starts. Between friends, family, health, and work, she has her hands full. Her man surprises her with a new apartment so they have to move; her friend stays over with her tot; her other pal wants a baby; she's been promoted; her parents are coming from England, and she may have trouble conceiving, along with several other shenanigans! I loved the drunk holiday party dancing to 'I Had The Time Of My Life', and everyone is chanting "Do the lift!", and he does and he pulls it off and she's like "Oh Jack, I'm flying!", and he puts her down, and she stumbles and falls and lands in the tree and the tree lands on her!! I cackled all night long; the whole book was like that and I read it all the way through, it was a giggle-fest!!
That and all of my favorite British type words was so fun to read, like toddle, bird, mate, gob, git, wee, snog, telly, crackers, slag, knickers, sod off, cock up, take the piss out of, etc. and so on...!

This novel follows Angela over the festive period. Angela id a huge fan of Christmas and has a lot of festive plans but when she has more responsibility at work thrust upon her and her best friend from the UK drops in for a surprise visit. As usual things do not go to plan.

This is a enjoyable series and they are very quick to read. I do find that at times Angela is a slightly annoying character. She can be selfish and at times quite selfish. I do feel that not a lot happened in this book in comparison to the other books in the series.

For me this series is a fun read and is something I reach for when I want a lighthearted read. There is another book in the series and I assume that in that one Angela will either be pregnant or have a baby as this was a big theme in this book.

Whenever I read this series it always want to visit New York as we get a lot of descriptions within the story and there is a little section at the end of the book all about New York and the things that you can do there.

Just finished reading Lindsey Kelk's I Heart Christmas and loved it. Following Angela's story as she tries to navigate a promotion, moving in a week, her best friend's unexpected visit with baby in tow, a work crush and her parents all while she's planned a relaxing week off for Christmas--so much fun!

Another interesting read in this excellent series of books. I just cannot wait to find out more about Angela, Jenny and Alex in each book. I Heart #6 involves many arguments when all Angela wants to do is get into the festive spirit. I can completely connect with Angela in this book as how she reacts to many situations i feel i would react the same. They are all such interesting characters who i want to read more about. I never want this series to end. It's a good book to lead into I Heart #7.

If you want a simple and lighthearted Christmas book to read over the festive period, this is the one for you.

Although being part of a series, you don’t need to read the other books to understand, appreciate and laugh throughout reading this book. I definitely want to read this series from the start to gain a deeper understanding of the characters and their backstories.

Just as the blurb suggests, this book is as chaotic and amusing as it sounds. It follows the antics of Angela’s life whilst starting a new job, dealing with a new baby-craze from Jenny, her husband determined to settle down and start a family with her, and Louisa turning up on the doorstep unannounced with her toddler, Grace, all before Christmas.

Very well written and easy to follow, this book will you have you chuckling, all the while sympathising, with each character and the problems they are dealing with. Despite all of the shenanigans mentioned, it was very easy to follow. I would recommend to someone looking for a fun Christmassy read.

This was such a fun and entertaining read! It had ample drama, witty commentary and lovable characters throughout!
.
I really liked the storyline! A lot of festive reads lack depth and this was really well balanced. Angela is so caught up in her love for Christmas and her own world that she has forgotten that others around her have needs too. This is a classic take on the ‘take for granted’ story line when life is busy. This was written with care and had such a sense of relatability about it. It really highlighted the difference in opinions and holding those close to us accountable.
.
My fav character was absolutely Alex! He was all the things! He was definitely more of a background player in the story but I just loved his demeaner, his romantic side, his caring nature etc. the writer painted him as a dream guy! He supported his wife in every which way and loved her endlessly! Hard not to like the guy right?!
.
Let’s talk the drama!! It was definitely ramped up and coming from all angles .. work, friends, family, lovelife.. but it also could equally have happened to anybody. It was outrageous and entertaining and felt relentless with each chapter bringing another layer.
.
My second book by this author and she is most definitely one I’m going to keep my eye on. She has a fabulous writing style and has a nack of keeping the reader engaged book length long. I’m getting Emily Henry / Sarah Adams vibes so far!
.
A frantic, yet festive fairytale read! From pine needles and warm beer to books in airvents and missing babies.. this one’s sure to keep you engaged!

I Heart Christmas is a feel good Christmas Romance and a must read during the holidays! New York at Christmas is the perfect setting and I was fully immersed with the excitement of Christmas in the City!

I love Lindsey Kelk’s writing and like all her other books, you cannot help but laugh out loud throughout!

Angela is such a great character, I could relate to her a lot as I love to eat a Terrys Chocolate Orange for Breakfast on Christmas Day too!

I can’t believe it took me so long to read this, I definitely recommend it to all rom-com readers!

I started out really enjoying this series but the more books I read the more I dislike Angela Clark! I know it would completely defeat the object of the books if she wasn't such a dithering, woe-is-me character, but I find her inability to just communicate with people so frustrating. There are only 2 more books left in the series and I've invested too much time to give up now but I sincerely hope the next book brings back some of the fun of the first two 🤞🏽
