I re-read this book; I highly recommend it for its very practical tips on networking. The key points from the book: understanding your personality and using your strengths and complementing your weaknesses to develop sincere and significant relationships for your career development (and maybe even your life in general). It's just great stuff and so useful. The book might be a little dated for the world of the year 2014, but the points in it are still so very relevant. Building habits and having goals - these are perennial things to keep in mind.
This gave me a real jumpstart with my job search! I realized that I had never really understood networking and how to go about it in an effective, methodical way. Very helpful! I've kept it checked out after reading to refer back to---lots of websites, forms, etc.
I read this book for work, to help me help others network, but I found a lot of it to be relevant to me/someone who is currently working too. It has a lot of good life long networking tips, but also some short-term strategies for job seekers.
