Hajime Isayama (諫山 創 Isayama Hajime, born 1986) is a Japanese manga artist from Ōyama, Ōita. His first and currently ongoing serial, Attack on Titan, has sold over 22 million copies as of July 2013. He has mentioned Tsutomu Nihei, Ryōji Minagawa, Kentaro Miura, Hideki Arai and Tōru Mitsumine as artists he respects, but stated that the manga that had the biggest influence on him was ARMS.
It's so hard to give many of my thoughts without giving any spoilers, but this volume was amazing. Historia's transformation into her new role in the series was done so well. She's really growing on me and she's slowly becoming one of my favorite characters. That ending though... Why'd they have to leave the story on a cliffhanger like that??
That's certainly convenient, isn't it? So I was sort of right about the armor.
Lots of tying up loose ends and doing a wrap-up of this last story arc. We've still got the creepy hairy ape titan to deal with though. Not a terrible volume but I'm starting to get bored.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
So now I have to wait for the next chapter?!?! And I don't even know when is it comin' out...
But anyway, amazing volume. It wasn't as action packed as the last few, but it was still really interesting. I've got a feeling that we'll get some answers in the next chapter, I just hope that it'll come out soon.
I can't say that this was a terribly exciting volume. Less action, more drama, but there is a decent reveal involving 3 characters. One person knew the whole time, now a second knows, and I'm excited to see the third's reaction. When that'll happen, I have no idea, so I have no choice but to continue on. Volume 18 is on the horizon.
Some normality and hope in this volume at the halfway point
The opening part gave me Ba Sing Se drill vibes from Avatar the Last Airbender. Nice to see Historia successful, and have Mikasa and Levi tied together a bit.
Bello bello bello!
Rod Reiss the next titan threat and he is bigger than colossal titan in this form and the way Eren and co defeat him is interesting and before that the way he saved others by using his hardening ability was good and then when they defeat this mega titan, and the legend that is Historia and how she becomes queen is shown in this volume and then we have more revelations regarding the titans and her family sort of, and KENNY and a focus on him and how he is connected to the reiss family and the way he passes out infront of Levi was emotional and then we have the after-math ch and what follows is new day, everyone in survey corps in joy as they head on retake wall maria with this newfound knowledge, great volume and a lot is revealed and even more so. The art just keeps getting better and flows smoothly in a way and the next phase of the manga is looking even better now!

This is the after battle events, but still want to know who is the monkey and now that he has an ally? who looks too much like Grisha. And finally the memories are explained! Now the question is how only they obtained this ability? Overall this wasn't an action packed volume. Good to know about Levi's past since he's my favorite character in Attack on Titan, or I would've gave this vol 2 stars (over 4, of course). The art while not terrible as the start is still bad. Moving on to the next volume! I will finish this manga tonight or tomorrow max! Well that's way sooner than I expected!

Is the story getting hard to follow or have I forgotten the story after a long time no read? At least, everything seems a bit positive now, that Historia became a queen. And everything is improved now, including weapons and such. We also got backstory for Levi. Now the problem is that who the hell is that monkey-like titan?
Story I got to read this volume thanks to my subscription to Crunchyroll. Now that I'm caught up with what's been released in Japan, I'm not sure if I'll read month to month, or read the next volume's worth after 4 months.
With how chapter 70 ends, it's going to be hard to not read chapter 71 right away. Overall this one didn't reveal nearly as much as the previous volume, but the story continues to be excellent, and I'm looking forward to see where things are going next.
Artwork Artwork is consistent with the previous volumes. There weren't a ton of action shots, but as usual I find them harder to follow than the rest. I again look forward to the anime adaptation and it's the story much more than the artwork that keeps me hooked on this series.
So Uri knew the rumbling would happen… and Armin guessed that Theres a lot more outside the Walls than they think… agh the foreshadowing is amazing in this series
As the series goes on....were about halfway in volume terms..I do realise how complex the storyline has become. In answering....half/answering(?)some of the series central mysteries...more questions arise. Historia is the central focus in this volume and her transformation complete.
English review: I believe that if there’s one narrative arc that could turn some readers or viewers away from continuing the story, this would be it. Why? Because it’s an arc that focuses heavily on politics and, at first, might seem like a waste of time unrelated to the main plot for some. There will be people asking: What about the basement in Eren’s house? Where are the Titan battles? It’s true that there are no Titan fights in this arc, but if it wasn’t already clear, a few volumes down the line—when the truth about Eren’s basement is revealed—it will become completely obvious that this story isn’t about people killing Titans. It’s so much more than that. For those patient enough to read Volumes 16 and 17, this arc unveils many things: how Titan powers are obtained, why Levi and Mikasa have extraordinary speed and agility, what happened to Eren’s father, and much more. For anyone who still believed this story was for 13- or 14-year-olds, Volume 15 delivers a reality check with one of the most shocking and horrifying character deaths in literary history: As I mentioned earlier, not every fan will appreciate the political intrigue, but I personally enjoyed finally learning about the political system within the Walls. This political conflict was incredibly engaging. It might seem like our favorite characters are entirely in the right and their opponents are villains with no rational beliefs. However, by the end of the story, you might find yourself questioning whether the antagonists were right all along. Finally, for Volumes 13-17, Historia Reiss (Krista Lenz) truly shines in this part of the story. Her character undergoes significant development compared to the earlier volumes, and she has her own epic moments.
This was one of the best volumes so far. It was executed extremely well, and was much more fast paced than the usual volumes, which i hope it continues to stay this way! The flashback & summary pannels were soooooo much better; so many chapters could and should have been summarized like this!!!! We get way more characterization for Krista, Eren & even Levi. Learning about how Levi was raised was also quite interesting, & everything makes more sense now.
Okay so this issue was intense. The Survey Corps finally know where Eren and Krista are, they know who Krista is and they even know who has them. Krista, or Historia I guess we're now calling her, has been told her whole backstory, omitting the whole fact her family man father clearly didn't want her enough to keep her as part of his family, actually treated her like crap and now he has no other option, he is entrusting her with the family legacy. The legacy that requires her to turn into a titan and eat Eren in order to absorb his Titan powers which once belonged to her sister and were stolen by Dr Jaeger. Intense right. Basically, it's now down to Eren to decide how he's going to do this. We are making moves people !!

some chapters leave me confusd, others provide more info on the world.
we knew more about the underworld and the ackermans, but I'm guessing we still have a long way to go before we understand everthing. it won't all go smoothly as they think, of course
