Eve Vaughn has written some mediocre IR fiction that has shown potential in unique plots and characterization. IMO, this book is another in the attempts to bring something different, but it fell flat, like so many IR stories done today.
Anyway, it was a quick read that seem intriguing up until the couple has sex. Then it goes predictably awry with some seemingly trite motivators thrown in.
My take? Stick with characterization and giving less anti-climactic turns towards the end. Engross the reader by leading to a better climax and anticipated ending. Simple story plot. Just sayin'.
This was a really great book.**Now there were some typos; but the content was so good that I got past that. Simon and Jessica's story was not just about romance. Ms. Vaughn took me on a journey about the human spirit and how fragile our psyches can be. But, she also included how we as humans are much stronger than we think. With FORGIVENESS comes peace of mind and soul. I think that is a beautiful lesson.
This is a true love story between Jessica and Simon. I won't give the story away but it does take you on an emotional roller coaster. I loved the story because true love wins over adversity. They fall in love really quickly after meeting each other but that is fine in my book because lots of people do. You will see why they do as the story unfolds. Of course that love gets tested and it is how they overcome the trials of life to hold on to that love that the story demonstrates to you what it can take to hold on to their love when devastating situations arises in their lives.
I love the quote in the book which I think sums up the whole story :
"To err is human; to forgive, divine."
This story is a life lesson for us all if we want to be free to love sometimes you have to forgive to make room for love!
Could have been a really great read. The relationship moved to fast ... the characters had great chemistry and were funny so their courtship could have been stretched out a few more chapters before they slept together .. it would have made the longing and the heartache more tangible for the reader.. still I enjoyed the book .. i loved Jessica she was a refreshing heroine .. cute, shy and interesting. Her reaction to the lie was beautiful .. i would have liked an actual chapter that talked about that particular scene.. their love for each other was lovely i liked the hero too....any how it was a good book ....
Finding Divine is about two people who fell in love very quickly, only to find out that they share a tragic history. Will their love be strong enough to withstand the turmoil that comes about after the truth of their shared connection is revealed. The hero and heroine had issues with forgiveness and maturity. I didn't like the heroine to much in the beginning, but she kind of grows on you in the end.
The old proverb at the end really complements the books. "To err is human, to forgive is divine. And there was no better feeling than finding divine." Great book!
Mehh..this just wasn't my cup of tea....it came off depressing...it seemed like everybody needed counseling and by the time the HEA came I was over it.
