Chanel Smith found herself on the way to the Goulburn Police Academy when the strangest of reasons made it seem the only option. But it was the serial killer who was murdering prostitutes which made Chanel sit up and take notice, especially as she was with a senior Detective when a body was found. Chanel suddenly had a purpose – she would find the killer. But the dangers far outweighed her courage, especially once the killer noticed her…
Cocoa & Chanel is the first in the Chanel series by Aussie author Donna Joy Usher and I enjoyed it immensely. Many laugh out loud moments, combined with “are you stupid?” moments (directed at Chanel) along with her adorable dog, Cocoa, made this an entertaining read. It’s classified as cozy, but does have some mild swearing, and also needs some editing. A light, fun read which I recommend.
