Jointly reviewed with Nancy who was an immense support during this book, mainly because she finished it first and was able to reassure me throughout, thanks lady. Seriously I wish I can include all these conversations (rants) we had but they do contain a lot of spoilers.
THE PLAYERS:
Elyssa, you are killing us! Stand up and fight girl!!!! We get you but you are driving us insane, if you want him, fight, stop leading Alex or Oliver on!
Arianna, you are the evil of all evil…. We still don’t know what is wrong with you, what is your problem? Obviously you are obsessed, insane and pathetic!
Oliver, we admit we never did like you much… Now we just feel sorry for you, you need to move on...
Cole, grow up, man up and leave Elyssa alone! There is an incident in the book which leads the reader to believe that Cole may have woken up and realized the folly of his actions, unfortunately this is not to be.
Alex… We hurt for you! Elyssa is quite lucky, but you deserve better!

Elyssa and Alex’s saga continues with Arianna, the villainous mastermind who wants Alex for herself… She is not above using any means to get Elyssa to leave Alex or else!
Their story is FRUSTRATING! Reading it made us so angry and yet at the same time were thoroughly captivated, there was this need to keep going in order to find out what happens next.
Most of the time we were getting whiplash by Elyssa… It was exhausting being in her head; There is however a light at the end of the tunnel, where things are finally moving to where we feel they should; Throughout the novel, she was beyond frustrating, at times there is sympathy for her and then the empathy would turn into anger at her hypocrisy and weakness. We knew our anger towards her at times was irrational, due to the circumstances that lead her to behave the way she does, just cannot help feeling disappointed in her.
Elyssa~~~“I don’t think there’s anything left to give you. I love you, but right now, love isn’t enough.”~~~
The sign of a good author is the extent in which they can make you feel connected with the character, whether positively or just wish they are cut into a million pieces, the latter is the way we feel towards Arianna- The authors succeeded in making her the most hateful character we have come across.
This book will intrigue you, it will rile you up and it’ll break your heart… It’ll make you fall in love with Alex more. Just like the previous book, the epilogue will suck you in… looking forward for what’s next!
All in all, we say BRILLIANT! Most of the time you are reading this, your feelings will range from frustration to anger coupled with hope. This reads like a soap opera full of intrigue, angst, love and betrayal.

I really decided that Elyssa needed a smack side the head so many damn times, if relationships are all about communication and honesty that girl seriously effing failed and I really didn't blame Alex for his hoitiness (not sure if that's a word but it is in my dictionary) toward her, "you have a effed up way of showing it. Why the eff are you even here?" I mean Alex is the type of man that doesn't allow things to go, and well in this case that thing is Elyssa, "I thought you needed space...time...whatever to figure your sh** out, but then you bring that a**hole to Thanksgiving dinner. Do you know how much strength it's taking to keep my cool?" I mean once I thought things had settled more between Alex and Elyssa and that worked past whatever the hell Elyssa's problem was I thought it was nice of Alex to promise ways to make sure Elyssa doesn't get fat and stay that way, "no way that's not gonna happen. I plan on working out that tight a** body of yours as often as I can. Sex is considered cardio, so it will balance itself out," he chuckles at my attempt to slap his arm." I mean he really does want the best for Elyssa and if that means her not working that's fine with him, "out of everything I said you're concern is work? Easy. I'll switch departments and then it won't matter if we're together. Or quit...then I can keep you knocked up and in my bed all day." I was pleased with how it ended not a real big cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to book 3.

I've given this read 4 stars purely because I'm totally smitten with Alex. His character is everything a woman is looking for.. Ely on the other hand got on my nerves through most of the book. Saying that, I still couldn't put it down and will certainly be reading book 3.
I found the main storyline very drawn out, and a bit boring at times and I found myself skip-reading in places. I did however, love reading from Alex's point of view.
All in all it's not a bad book by any means and certain parts of it were gripping to read but it just felt at little too exhaustive!

So.... I love how the authors write and I loved the 1st book!
The 2nd book honestly I had hoped for more I felt that it was just repetitive and a little unrealistic (which I understand the genre I really normally is). Elyssa drove me insane I felt like her character was amazing in the first book and the second she came off as a martar!
Any way my review is 3 and half stars and I will be reading the 3rd book to see the final book

4.5 Stars - I loved Alex. However the only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the self pity, whiny crap with Elyessa went on way too long. Great book, but I personally don't like weak women. Stand up and fight for your man. With that being said I can't wait to read the next one.

This was so sad at times but also frustrating. Not the book itself but the situation the two main characters alex and elyssa were in. What was worse is that Alex didn't know what was going on.Elyssa took it upon herself to make decisions for the both of them. To me that is wrong. Understood her situation but didn't agree with what she was doing.
When you are in love with someone and it involves your relationship it should be a two way street. One should not make all the decisions. You should rely on each other and work through things together. that was my huge hangup with Elyssa. that and how she treated Oliver and Alex. I mean one she used for comfort and couldn't grasp why he wanted more and the other she crushed and ripped apart and than had the gall to get mad when she saw him talking to another woman. I especially didn't like Elyssa keeping the baby from Alex and than lying to him in which that decision crushed and almost destroyed Alex.
there boss Arianna is a wretched wretched human being who only wants to destroy to get what she wants and she wants what she can't have. If anyone gets what she wants she destroys them. She's ruthless and has to have her way but her cold heartless countenance is to much to like.
This story revolves around Elyssa taking her relationship into her own hands with Alex and crushes him time and time again because of Arianna's threats. No matter what Elyssa does, Alex doesn't stop loving her or wanting her. Even after she destroys him with the worst lie possible. In the meantime Oliver wants elyssa and is a great guy. He has had heartache before and is a stand up guy. Elyssa takes that comfort and doesn't think about the consequences to Oliver even after she meets Ollie's son Mason.
As you navigate through the heartache that Alex has, Elyssa's indecisiveness and Ollie's desires on top of Arianna's evilness you begin to invest in their lives and what is to happen. A story of love and devotion. Where we see how far one will go to protect the one's they love. A beautiful heartbreaking story that will keep you emotionally invested. The ending though is wow..Arianna give up man and what is your issue with Elyssa?

Since the sort of cliffhanger ending of Chosen Heart, I’ve been waiting very impatiently for this book. As soon as I read the prologue, my heart fell into my stomach and I knew I was in for the same emotional, gut wrenching ride as the first book. Like the first book, I was consumed until I finished.
As much as I was frustrated with Elyssa, I felt so terribly bad for her. At times, I wanted to actually scream at her, why are you doing this, he loves you so much and he’s blaming himself – just tell him! Elyssa desperately loves Alex, the pull you feel towards him in each scene they are together is palpable. She thinks she's doing the right thing by pushing him away, but it was so awful to watch - the very definition of sweet pain. This is the first time I ever wanted to actually jump into a book and tell a character what was really going on.
We get to hear from Alex himself, and I loved how you got to see Elyssa through his eyes. He’s so full of self-loathing from his past, and things he’s done to survive. I really felt how Elyssa’s actions were slowly breaking him from his point of view, which added to my extreme frustration and hatred for their current situation.
An extremely well written, hot and sexy page turner, Shattered Heart takes the angst from Chosen Heart and multiplies it by 100. I know how I want this series to end, and judging by the epilogue it looks like some big things are in motion!

Ok. I love Alex and Elyssa, truly I do, so when I started to read this book 2 I was expecting to read that Elyssa has gotten the wicked bitch of the west right where it'd hurt. A good ole fashion whop ass. What I did not expect was that Arianna would have sooooooooo much control over the lives of both Elyssa and Alex in advertently. Elyssa is portrayed as such a weak and feable woman, being a puppet in Arianna's web of lies. The bitch wants Alex who's rejected her for Elyssa with whom he's in love with. Arianna has Cole (Ely's ex) as her personal sleaze who follows Ely everywhere and reports back to the bitch.
Ok, I hated that the authors made her (Arianna) so powerful; Elyssa so weak and mean towards Alex; and Poor Alex, he was made to look weak and we know from book 1 he is a force to be reckoned with.
Please in book 3 I would like to see Arianna get what's coming to her. She's now enrolled the aid of Alex's estranged father and she is such a slot, don't know where this man's been, she drops to her knees and sucks his cock. What a fucking slut! I truly hate Arianna Salerno. I expect something better for book 3. I truly do not want to be disappointed as I was in book 2. BUT you read and judge for your self.

Freaking roller coaster read! There's so much frustrating and redeeming part of this book. My emotions were in overdrive, it seems that I don't want to continue on reading but still a masochist enough to endure the frustration the characters brought to themselves in the story. I'm so annoyed how Elyssa handled Arianna's threat and keeps on hurting & pushing Alex away. Well Arianna was a cruel bitch I literally loathed her character. While Alex was pathetically blinded with all the threats on their lives and a foolish masochist for Elyssa's love. But overall all Shattered Heart was such a great read. Can't wait how this series will conclude.

Be prepared for some teary eyes. I shed many tears in this book. The story line was great and very well written.

I was so busy studying that this one get me too long to read but it was so great.!! and was my little world when i was between clases because i needed to know what was gonna happen. Alex is so wonderful that i just pray to find someone like him one day even though hebhas his faults I believe that no one is perfect so that makes him perfect at least for me.! The Arianna Character is just Horrible and i don't see her point in all her hate but i guess we get to find out in next book. Can't wait.!

For the most part I really enjoyed this book. The only thing I did not like was how Ely couldn't make up her mind in this book. One second she can't live without Alex and the next second she is pushing him away. I know she was trying to protect Alex, but if I was her I would have talked to him about it instead of running way. For that reason I give this book four out of five stars.

Brilliant, again didn't see the twists, not predictable at all. The suspense was killing me, she needed to tell him, it was getting worse not better. Who was protecting who in the end?
Can they make a life together? how far will Arianna go? What will Oliver do? There's so much more to uncover, can't wait for final instalment

Where to begin, after the much anticipated release of this book I must say that this book did not disappoint. I was very frustrated with Elyssa for most of the book. I fell in love with Alex more in this book due to his persistence even when Elyssa didn't deserve it! I am looking forward to reading Destined Heart and hope that Alex & Elyssa get a HEA!

What a fantastic second book from the trilogy, Ely should have confessed to Alex sooner, it was absolute heartache, and poor Oliver he has so much to give but us ladies love a bad boy, Rachel you hero I punched the air when Arianna got what she deserved, looks like we are heading for another roller coaster ride in book three!! Ann and Stephanie you are fantastic, so highly recommended!!!

Omg!!! This book was soooo frustrating, well Elyssa was to be exact. The more you read the more you come to love Alex, he deserves better than Elyssa who was so weak and made you want to throw your kindle!! I only hope everyone gets what they deserve in the final instalment.

Synopsis
This is the continuing story of Alex and Elyssa
In the continuing story Elyssa feels that she cannot stay with Alex because of
Arianna. Not because she is jealous, but because she feels she is protecting
Alex by staying away. She trys so very hard but their love and attraction to
each other is strong. She is growing closer and closer to Oliver much to
Arianna's delight but Elyssa knows that she is just using him but she can't seem
to stop.
Alex is besides himself, he can't understand why Elyssa is breaking his heart
and she is doing that well. Just when he thinks that he has her back, she leaves
again. He knows something is going on, but he can't place it. All he knows is
that Oliver is moving in on his property and that is something he won't have.
With several surprises along the way, will Alex and Elyssa find each other
again?
My Review
Another solid 4 stars for this continuing story. I really did love the story,
but have to sat Elyssa pisses me off quite a few times. I get why she's doing
what she's doing to a point, but I kept willing her throughout the book to tell
him the truth and she just wouldn't. I was very frustrated. Yes, yes I am all
things Team Alex. He is the man, even with his sorid past, that man is what
women want. Strong, fierce, protective and loving. He won't let her go without a
fight and that means fighting a lot of people. I do look forward to the
conclusion of this story, I just hope that the spitfire we saw at the end of the
book from Elyssa comes a little more often in the next one.

I love this series and couldn't put it down. This story is epic.
The storyline is entertaining, and you really feel for the characters. I do like that it is told in Elyssa POV, with glimpses of Alex's and Ariana's pov. I wish there was more of Alex's POV, I think he has his own story to tell in this story. In addition I think Ely was a little to whiney in this book, and it made me irritated in parts of the book. The epilogue was great I loved how we could glimpse into Alex's POV again.
The story picks up where it left on in the last book. Now I'm really not going to give you a synopsis this time, because if you didn't read the first one, I DONT want to spoil anything. But this book is anything but dull. Lots of curve balls are thrown and the Gillian's just get more malicious. You love to hate them.
Seriously this is a must read series and can't wait for the last book to come out. Yes its a cliffhanger, but it is definetly worth the read.

I can see why everyone's (including myself) a little pissed off at Elyssa. She is frustrating. But...then I think to myself, and if put in the situation, i think I might do the same thing. She has to protect Alex ... at all costs. Unfortunately for her, that means pushing him away while still loving him.
All I can say is THANK GOD I have never been in that kind of situation. I get that love, and being in a relationship, is hard work...but Alex and Elyssa take the cake.
Absolutely loved the second book, can't wait for the third!

Lol omg this book was soooo frustrating! Ha I just wanted Ely to go a pair thru the whole thing. She finally does in the end. But, seriously? Who would let it get that far? She supposedly loves him. But she can't be honest with anyone? Poor Oliver. Poor Alex. If you ask me, Ely is the worst sort of selfish. But, I must be a glutton for punishment. Cause you know I'm buying the be t book as soon as I am finished leaving this review. Lol

And WTF is up with Arianna? Whatever it is that makes her tick better be life altering, because the beeatch is crazy.
I just feel sorry for Cole. I don't necessarily think he's a bad guy, just not making the right choices.

The much anticipated 2nd book of the series did not disappoint! All it's twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat!! Eli is definitely a bit annoying but I could sometimes understand where she was coming from. I don't want to give anything away so I will only say that in the end I was proud of her. And Alex, well Alex is just adorable. :-) All and all I can confidently give this book 5 stars and can't wait for the finale!!! Hurry ladies!
