And you thought Emmy’s life was a hot mess before…

Jack’s gone off to Arizona with his brother, but for how long? Emmy doesn’t have a clue. In his place, though, is Zachary. The whiny, miserable, alpha wolf–boy who is more than ready to take on the duty of her mate/boyfriend — if she’d let him, that is. But the last thing Emmy wants is to deal with a boy who believes that the world should fall solely at his feet whenever he demands it.

But hey, at least her step–douche is gone, and her life is back to an almost normal sense, right?

Wrong again, Emmy’s life will never again be normal…
With her Uncle Prick in town and her best friend acting as secretive as ever, Emmy finds new challenges to overcome — challenges that no seventeen–year–old girl should ever have to deal with. For one thing, what is up with her dream–liaison status anyway? What does it mean, really? And why does her little brother have to go through it too? And then there’s her mom. The lady is acting a tad bit odd, to put it nicely. After all these years, she finally wants to step up and be a parental figure? Heck no! Emmy’s definitely not copacetic with that idea.

But with the bad, there’s got to be some good out there for her somewhere, right?

Add in the wolves, witches, drama, and lots of kisses and you get Emmy the Extraordinaire, the girl with strawberry–colored hair, and a chip on her shoulder. She’s finally on her way to finding out what her life and her future both have in store for her, even if the road to getting there is nowhere near as easy as she hoped it would be. But Emmy is tough, and more than ready to take on life with her bare hands.

It’s just too bad she’s madly, desperately, insanely in love with a boy who insists on making her life both a miserable hell and utter perfection at the same time.

Anyone who has not read author Heather Van Fleet's books in this series needs to right away. Put it on your short list because these are some great books. I simply love Jack and Emmy. They are complex and likable characters. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!

Excerpt:
They say the power of a kiss can rock someone’s world. Whoever said that was lying, because they’d obviously never been kissed by Jack Hartman. And if they had, then I would be tearing them apart limb from limb by now. Possessive, primal, mine, all mine - that's what the power of kissing Jack was like for me. I wanted him, and if he pushed me away then I would never again kiss another man because my mouth would never be satisfied if it wasn't his lips doing the kissing. Pressure, fire, wetness, tongues - single words were all I could think as our mouths battled. God, I’d never been kissed like this before. Ever, and if we stopped, I’d die one hell of a happy women from his lips touching mine alone. He tugged his hand into the back of my hair, pulling my chin back, yanking me towards him. I clawed at his shirt, ready to rip it from his massive body. I pulled at his jacket first, lowering it over his shoulders until it fell to the floor. The buttons jingled against the tiles, scattering over our feet. Damn, if he didn't care about his signature black coat falling apart, then I had to wonder what else I could get away with. Feeling brave, I went for his shirt next, uncaring that anyone could walk in on our almost--sexcapade at any time. I wanted him, and it had to be now. Screw his uncle and aunt! We had months of built- up tension between us- tension that needed unleashed. I was starving -losing my mind- dying a slow death here. I was almost eighteen and in no way ready to meet my maker yet either.

Favorite Quotes:
“ A beautiful strawberry needs to be devoured right away, not left in the bottom of a container. Just so it can mold, you know” --- Jack

“Our bond you mean? See right there you admit we are still mated!” -- Emmy

“I can’t fight fate anymore, Jack. Its a demanding bitch that doesn't know how to ease up on the people it steals from, until those people follow through with its demands.” -- Emmy

“Emmy is my world. And there was no way I was going to let my world be shattered into pieces that couldn't be fixed. I would be her super glue, her Band-Aid, whatever the hell she needed to keep herself together. I just hoped I’d be able to last long enough. I was strong... but really, was I strong enough for this? For her? You can bet my life I am.” -- Jack

My Review:
I received an ARC of Seizing Fate for an honest review from Ashley’s Reading Bliss.

Seizing Fate picks up where Resisting Fate left off. Zachary is still being a major douche. He still believes he and Emmy belong together. Kelsey is acting more strange then usual. Her mom has made a complete one-eighty on her parenting skills. And Jack, Jack is gone.

Emmy I LOVE this girl. She has shown more of her spunk and personality in Seizing Fate. This girl is finding things she never knew existed and taking it like a champ. At times I found myself yelling at her. Wanting her to stand up to Zachary. The way he treated her really pissed me off. She finally stood her ground with him.

Jack OMG.... A few times this wolf boy grove me nuts, but that's only because I wanted him to stop fighting fate. I wanted him to see that he and Emmy belonged together. Since Jack is so YUMMY, I forgave him. I also LOVED how we got a little of Jack’s POV. Although, Heather could have given us more of it. I could never get enough of Jack. What goes on in his sexy head?

I Enjoyed the scenes between Jack and Emmy they were explosive with sexual tension. Their chemistry undeniable. Even they are both young, Heather shows us thee two belong together.

We are put on another roller coaster ride in Seizing Fate. I felt my emotions thrown about. My heart breaking at times wondering what was going to happen. Laughing at some of the comedy thrown in. I really enjoyed this book I gave it 4 to 4 1/2 stars. I am looking forward to the continuing saga of Jack and Emmy story. I need to find out what happens with Zachary. Does he become a better person now? What happened with Kelsey and Adrian? Are they together now? What about the little twist with Kelsey and Zachary, where is that headed? What happened to Jamie? Who has him now? So many unanswered questions, I need answers too. I am hooked on this series.

Holy hot damn and son of a mother trucker, Seizing Fate was a wild wild west roller coaster, of the mixed variety.

Before I even turned page one I was anxious as all get out. Would Seizing Fate live up to the expectations I held after finished Resisting Fate? I have told every man and his dog about that book and my affair with Jack Hartman. Was Van Fleet going to break my heart and make Emmys journey through life and love so much harder? Was she going to leave me clutching at my kindle for dear life instead of throwing it into the nearest brick wall by finishing this installment with a cliffy?

Yes
Yes
Kinda

Would I take this journey again? Immediately.

Life isn't awesome for Emmy. I guess it's kinda lucky for her she doesn't expect any different then, huh? Seizing Fate didn't prove Emmy wrong. Truths were uncovered, revelations revealed, hearts were broken, betrayal cut deep, love was lost, lust, life, greed, nightmares, hatred and death. Not smooth sailing. Not even for a minute. Thankfully Emmy had her wit, internal strength and hilarious internal dialogue to get her this far. She certainly comes out with some pearlers - I wouldn't like to be in an insult flinging match with my girl Emmy;

adorkable
needle-nose dick face
ass-muncher
pompous arrogant asshole licker
pissant
Holy-hotdog-hotness and
"What in the nutsack?"

I know she's gonna have to pull out all the stops in the final installment and I can't wait to see.

Throughout the pages we fell further in love with some of the gang, wanted to inflict a painful death to others, and were introduced to some new faces, and I'm not even going to mention the whole lotta surprises that leapt from these pages. This is one wave you wanna ride all the way to shore. Some I anticipated, many I did not. Wowza, that battle. Hole-ey.

I need to take a moment to tell you a little about MY Jack Hartman. To all that is holy, that man is so hot, I'm surprised he's not burnt to a damn crisp. We saw a completely different side of him this time around and I love-loved-loved that. We got some Jack pov and boy, was I in my element! I need more of that goodness pronto! The almost romps and those kisses seared my eyes, phwoarrrrr, I can not wait for the explosion that will be Emmy and Jack in Surviving Fate.

Van Fleet hit a home run for me in this follow up to my favorite YA fantasy read of 2013. I was invested, enthralled and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. There was laughter, tears, joy, lust and heartbreak. Seizing Fate ticks all the boxes for me. This is one series you wanna get onboard...

SOME OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES

Shit. I’d really done it this time, huh? I was officially a skanky hot flame and he apparently didn’t want to get burned from it. I’d like to think that I was more of a forbidden fruit, but hey, I had to be realistic here.

***

I’ve seen, and heard, and felt a shit ton of things in my life before, from abuse, to wolves, to magical witches’ and warlock’s spells. But none of those things have ever affected me the way this one single sentence had. Nothing had ever made my heart ache in betrayal like these words.

***

This was me…and him…finally seizing our fates. Together. There would be no time for regrets. This was it…this was our destiny.

***

Emmy is my world. And there was no way I was going to let me world be shattered into pieces that couldn’t be fixed. I would be her super glue, her band-aid, whatever the hell she needed to keep herself together. I just hoped I’d be able to last long enough.
I was strong…but really, was I strong enough for this? For her?
You can bet my life I am…

5 STARS (Im rating it 10 stars on my blog..Because I can do that :P )
I received a ARC for an Honest Review.

When I found out Heather Van Fleet was writing Seizing Fate I admit I may have done a bit of dancing and general going crazy.

Seizing Fate picks up where Resisting Fate leaves off,So if you want to understand Seizing Fate you must read Resisting Fate first.Zachary is still delusional to even think Emmy would want him.Emmy's mom is acting too much like a mom..Emmy's Best Friend is hiding something and that is just the beginning.Jack's back by the way...wonderful aggravating Jack.Jack who you just want to shake some sense into him because He doesn't understand what he is doing to Emmy or US poor readers!Let me take a minute to say how much I wanted to jump into the story and open a can of whoop ass on Zachary..He was a jackhole the entire book and never quite redeemed himself...however I know he is dealing with his own issues but still..if he were to fall in a hole..I wouldn't cry about it.Overall This far surpassed Resisting Fate...and I LOVED Resisting Fate.

First off,Let me start by saying I love Emmy.I love her attitude and well she's just awesome.Jack..Jack is Wolfilicious (insert edited destiny's child song here). Seizing Fate shows just how well Heather Van Fleet can write.I of course have known that for awhile and I have been wondering when the World would wake up.WAKE UP WORLD..READ HEATHER'S BOOKS.You wont be disappointed.

When writing a review I always try and think of something I might change in a book.I think in Seizing Fate I would change that Jacks Point of View would have been throughout the book and not just towards the end.I would have LOVED to know what Jack was thinking and his reasoning behind some of the things he did and once I read a chapter from his Point of View it was like WOW..well there you go.I as always look forward to Heather's Books and Cannot wait for the NEXT book in the series.Yes,There better be another book in this series..Im not above bribing authors to write more (I kid I kid). Here's To you Heather.

I totally agree with Emmy shopping for dresses is s***, "um...I'm totally hoping that your holy s***s are actually good holy s***s, because I'm so done with this dress thing. It's either this one," I motioned up and down my body, "or I'm going in my jeans and hoodie!" Zachary he's just not the same and well I've grown to dislike him, how he talks to Emmy, "damn Emmy...you look so sexy in that dress! Let's just skip the dance, and head some place far away where I can take it off you..." Um... gross! And then the REALLY despising started, "Jack left this morning so things will get back to normal again. At least until we have to head down there on Friday." He spat his words at me, threatening me with them... I didn't take kindly to threats, and I snapped my arm to my stomach. His fingers left a scratch from my elbows to my shoulders. The a**..."So if that's what's got your panties all up your a** today, then you need to get over it." I don't think he's a bad guy he's just I hate him and I wish his head would come out of his a**. Now Jack, my man, oh my man, LOVE HIM. And I'm glad that Emmy is FINALLY coming to her senses in some things, "he was mine. And I was his... whether he liked it or not. He tightened his hold on me, nuzzling my neck again, inhaling heavily again before he placed his warm lips upon my pulse." He's considerate this time around and if you think about him in the last book then...well he wasn't real considerate, "grr, stop...seriously, Emmy. Besides that, you deserved better than a hard, quick romp with me in some jagged cave, on a rocky floor." I FINALLY got what I wanted to happen in this book now let's see if the next thing (well two things) that I want to happen will.

Heather Van Fleet did it again. Great continuation to Resisting Fate (bk 1).

I totally love Jack! Holy hotness. He's so mature, sexy, and in control. He always tries to do right by everyone. He never wanted to be pack leader and he never wanted to have a mate... Fate has a way of changing things.

Loved, loved, loved the plot twists in this novel. You find out who someone's real dad actually is... you find out someone is working with said dad... you find out someone has another sibling they never knew about!

Ack! The ending! I'm freaking out here... I need to know what happens to... well crap. No spoilers. Sorry. You just have to read it.

Emmy is a character that I have a love, annoyed, love relationship with. She talks in her head soooo much that there's little dialog sometimes. That's not a bad thing. It's just sometimes I want to smack her and say "Shut up already & make something happen! Stop pondering and thinking about it and SAY it!" Hahaha Overall though, I do love her crazy character. That poor girl can never catch a break (except for that fabulous fact that she's Jack's fated mate - sigh... lucky girl).

Overall, great continuation to the Predetermined series! Can't wait for the next one!!!!!!!!!! Can it come out tomorrow, Heather?? Haha

I love being in Emmy's head. She is hilarious.Goodness Emmy can't get a break from trouble. She is more apart of the supernatural world than she knows.Emmy thinks she just accidentally walked into the supernatural due to her relationship but little does she know she is destine to be in it.After Jack leaves things don't stay quiet for long. Zachary is so obsessed with Emmy that he can't take the hints she throwing his way. There are more family secrets revealed and once again they all have to fight for their lives.I love Jack,I just wish he'd do what he needs to to have Emmy for life. And stop being so hot and cold to her. I totally dislike Zachary but I'm holding out hope that he can get off his high horse and be decent. Now that they are on a mission to free Jack's brother from warlock prison, they are going to all have to find a way to help each other because divided they will fall.Prepare for a few tears and a jaw dropping ending. This is a must read series and I am anxiously awaiting book 3.

WOW!! So much drama, so much hype! And WTH is up with Zachary and his Asshat ways!? I am absolutely in love with this series. The characters are awesome, you can't help but fall for them all except the evil ones, those you just want to drive over several times just to make sure they're not breathing. OH!! AND the twist I so did not see coming AND the damn cliff hanger at the end!! Heather Van Fleet really out done her self with Seizing Fate, this is an absolute must read! I can't wait to see what Heather has in store for us with the next book. I can read about these characters forever, especially if Jack is involved, I mean come on, he's just yummy!

What can I say about Seizing Fate by Heather Van Fleet???

I can say that it totally blew my mind, it made me want to date a guy named Jack, it made me cry a little, it made me sigh, it made me hate Zach a little less. I had the feeling I was reading between the lines between two characters close to Emmy and I was so right! I was hoping that so of the precog stuff that was mentioned wasn't true but...

...it was.

Now with the bearded guy in the picture and relationships going every which way, what will come of our dear Emmy and Jack and the rest of the gang? I can not wait for the next install to this series!
