ARIEL SOTELO TABÁG (born August 16, 1978 in Santa Teresita, Cagayan), is an Ilokano fictionist, poet, editor, translator, and musician. He has received prizes and grants from the Palanca, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), National Book Development Board (NBDB) Trust Fund, and several Ilokano literary contests for his Ilokano short stories, novels, and poems. He is the author of Karapote (Curion), short story collection; Ay, Ni Reberen! (OMG, Reverend!), novel; Panangarakup iti Ipus ti Layap (Embracing the Tail of the Shooting Star), poetry collection; Kapessat ti Bagis (Sibling), novel; Panangsapul iti Puraw a Kabalio (White Horse Search), and Villa ken Dadduma Pay a Sarita (Villa And Other Stories). He has also translated in Filipino: Biag ni Lam-ang of Pedro Bucaneg, two dramas of Mena Pecson Crisologo, fiction works of Juan S.P. Hidalgo, Jr. and Cles B. Rambaud and other Ilokano writers. Tabag is also a fellow to the 41st UP National Writers Workshop (2002) and a delegate to the Taboan (2010) and 6th Philippine International Literary Festival (2015). He has served as Secretary General of GUMIL Filipinas (Ilokano writers’ association). He edits the Poetry Section of Bannawag Magazine.
