Oh goodness how to rate this. I loved the story and characters. It had a great plot and the characters were very likable. Zoey is a 18 yr old girl from Texas that moved to Cali after her daddy died. Zoey is a little spitfire and makes a good friend in Sophia. Sophia is dating Evan and Evan's best friend is Luke. Luke is the typical player college jock. He goes from one girl to the next never wanting more than sex. Zoey doe not fall for his smooth moves of quick seduction and throws Luke off his game. The more Zoey turns him down the more intrigued he becomes. There is only one problem, Luke has a "hook up" that wont give up. There are a few twists and turns to the book. Now why I am unable to rate the book higher is it needs some serious editing. There is a lot of misspelled words. Whole instead of hole, there instead of their, guiness instead of genius. One other issue that I didnt think about till the end is if Luke and Evan are football players for UCLA then they would travel to play. The only time Luke was away was to visit family. That and most college games are not on friday. Overall I really did like this book. It kept me interested. Mainly if this book was just edited I think people would really like it.
Zoey is 18 year old. She moves' from Texas to California with her momma and little sister After her daddy dies in a motorcycle accident. California is where her Aunt Lauren lives with her Cousin Ashely. There is a bit of rivalry between both Cousin. Her mum wants to be near her sister or so she portrays... On her first day of school she meets Sophia her student guide, they connect when Sophia stands up to Lauren in the cafeteria. Zoey finds out that they both dislike her the same, but for different reasons. Sophia is with Evan. Luke's best friend. And Blake he has words of wisdom. I loved this gang! Zoey finally gets introduced to Luke properly after football practice even though Shes' bin warned several times to stay away from Him, she just can't help herself after gravity pulls her like a magnet to him. And the feeling is very much mutual between them. But with Luke's old "hook up" waiting on the side lines, will they make it through to the touch down! You'll have to read it to find out!...
The story line is very strong through out. The characters are easy to relate to. The dialogue isn't awkward between them. At one point I was in tears it was so emotional, over all its a really sweet read, and great that an author can pull them emotions from you.. I really liked the two POV from Zoey and Luke perspective as you get to know what Luke is really thinking. He was a player, party animal, but Zoey the " spitfire" rocked his world and he wanted to changed for her. The ending just left you wanting more. I would recommend this book, if you like angst drama, and a good plot with a little twist plus their was humour this is for you. I didn't want to put down! this is the first book I've read of C.A Harms, Look forward to reading more from this author. Many thanks for the ARC.xD
**3 1/2 STARS** I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I will start off by saying that I like the book. It had a great story line and was hard to put down. The only issue I had was the copy I received had a lot of errors and seemed like hardly any punctuation where there should have been. With saying that, I really did like the book. This is the 3rd book I've read C.A.Harms, and she is starting to become one of my favorite authors. Zoey just had a devestating loss in her family and her mother moves everyone to Santa Monica, CA. When she arrives at school, Zoey sees the most gorgeous guy she has ever seen before. Luke hasn't had the best track recored with girls, he has been the love then them leave them type. Then he meets Zoey. Luke wants to become a better man for Zoey so that he can show her that he is more that what the rumors say, but a past relationship keeps confronting Zoey saying that Zoey is just a chalenge and when Luke gets what he wants he'll leave her. Can Zoey trust Luke and see that he really is trying to be a better person, or will the past be to much and they aren't able to work past it? Loved this book and it will most likely go in my "to be read again pile"
I received a copy from the author, so here is my honest review. This is a perfect story. It has loss, pain, heartbreak, lust, and forever. What happens when Zoey and her family moves from Texas to California after her father dies? She winds up in the same school with her mean cousin Ashley. On the first day of school she meets Sophia and they become best friends. Sophia is dating Evan and when he picks her up after school, Luke the sexy playboy is in the car too. He notices Zoey right off and all he wants is to get to know her and not just for sex. Zoey shots him down because she has heard he is only out for sex and one night stands. Zoey doesn't fall for the playboy type or that is what she thinks. She gets to know Luke and the electricity between them can not be ignored. But then there is Whitney, Luke's go to girl, and she can't leave Luke and Zoey alone. She makes me want to reach into my Kindle and pull her out by her hair and ask her WTH is your problem, can't stand to see Luke happy with someone else? Luke will make you want to slap him and tell him to wake up. The ending is perfect. If you are looking for a great story than this one is for you. C.A. Harms has become one of my favorite authors, I love her writing style.
Om gosh! This is the third book I've read by this author and it is my favorite so far. Zoey is a true Texas girl with all the right kinds of attitude. After her fathers death she, her mom, and sister move to California to start fresh. The first time Luke sees her he has to do a double take. Thinking she will be another notch on his playboy belt she gives him a piece of her mind the first chance she gets, and Luke is hooked. A girl that sees through his bull is a special kind of girl and he instantly knows he wants to change his playboy ways. Zoey is attracted to him but is worried about his past. When he opens up to her she decides to give him a chance. How will it work out and what could come between them you'll just have to read it to see!
I really liked this book. It was a sweet easy read. It reminded me of my first love in high school and the intense feelings that consumed me then. A little hard to believe college students who come back to their highschool girlfriends but the story still held my attention. Luke (a reformed playboy) finds his true love in Zoey. She is a bit of a spitfire. Hilarious scenes where she pays her cousin back for tormenting her and even funnier when she teaches Aaron a lesson on manners. Overall I liked the book. I don't always read the teen romances, my preferences run a little closer to the edge, but this story had a lot of heart and was a quick read for me. I look forward to more books from Ms. Harms. I really enjoy her writing style.
Loved it. It was a great love story about a young couple. I fell in love with the characters. I also like how it ended. I can honestly say that every book I have read by this author I have enjoyed.
I was given the chance to read & rate this book by the author. I just wanna say. Wow! What a story! It had me going with the flow and different emotions. Zoey is a country girl from Texas. Her family moves to California to start over. Luke is a college playboy, football, parties and girls. It isn't until be meets Zoey that he realize that he could have more in life. Sophia is the first friend Zoey makes upon starting a new school. Evan is Sophia's boyfriend and Luke's best friend. Sophia warns Zoey of Luke and Sophia tells Luke to leave Zoey alone. However the attraction is to great to be ignored. Whitney plans to sabotage Luke and Zoey anyway possible. But is their for each other strong enough for them to have a second chance.
There were many grammatical errors. But still a real good read. :)
I really enjoyed this book. Zoey's mom moves her and her sister to Cali after their fathers death and that is when she meets Luke. While they were both attracted to each other, Zoey did not want to get involved with him at first. Luke, however, wasn't having that. He knew he wanted Zoey and no one else. When Zoey and her mother end up at the hospital, it is easy to see how much Luke cares for her. He never left her side. While they did have issues in the beginning, they were resolved and we were left with a great story and a HEA. I loved the epiloge where we got to see where everyone was five years later. This is a great author and I love all of her books!!
Another great book by C A Harms. I have read 3 of her books and haven't been disappointed by any of them yet. This is a great love story about Zoey who has recently relocated following her dads death. She makes new friends and meets Luke, who she has heard many rumours of about being a player, so Zoey keeps her distance, but Luke is persistent and tries to tell Zoey that he isn't like that. They grow closer together but not with many ups and downs involving family and past exes. This is a great story and both characters are both spunky and loveable. Again I'm left wanting more from this story, didn't want it to end. Recommended for a great read.

Life of a teenager isn't easy but Zoey faced more challenges than most. When Luke comes into her life she isn't sure if he'll add pain or pleasure. Only time will tell who will be there to support Zoey through it all. I enjoyed reading about Zoey's struggles as she comes of age. It kept my interest and I wanted to continue reading to find out if Luke and she made it through it all together or if the obstacles would tear them apart.
This book was pretty good. It was an easy read I enjoyed the story line a lot. There was some grammar and I got confused a couple times when changing the page I felt like something was missing. But great job C.A. Harms you did a great job. I am starting to get addicted to your books.
