Volume 19 covered the Pacific War. Here are the chapters:

Pacific War; Objective Tokyo; The Gilberts and Marshalls; Tarawa; "The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot"; Saipan, Tinian&Guam (typo in the contents page); Leyte Gulf: the greatest sea battle of all: The struggle for Leyte; Japan's War Effort.

To be honest, the US likely could have starved Japan into surrender with their submarine campaign alone. As the battles got closer to Japan, the nation's ability to access even basic raw materials was dwindling at an increasing rate. While I haven't got to that volume yet, there is an entire field of study on the decision to drop the atomic bomb that considers stuff like this.

Very entertaining read and some interesting pictures. I look forward to the next volume.
